The people of Birkenhead who have reported serious crimes should do a freedom of info request on response time to incidents, they are atrocious, and the reason is that they have units tied up like this playing stupid staring out games with a man with a camera. Its thanks to matt and Oscar, because we are starting to see officers being taken to task, the Met put into special measures, 2 met officers sacked for misusing watsapp, met officers jailed for distributing crime scene photos. I think everyone should have training on photography laws and training on auditors. Then they should sign to say they are fully aware of the basic rights. Then maybe when they get a call someone taking photos they will actually attempt to stop actual crimes.

My sister was one inch under the height requirement to become a City of London police officer years ago even though she was a martial art two dan and had a good education. Now they would refuse her for being two intelligent and able to look after herself!

Regarding section 5, police have a higher threshold than the general public. It has to be "above what they expect to deal with in the line of their duty." Separate from that there are statutory defenses. One is that you checked to see if public were about, another is that your actions were reasonable in the circumstances. There's also a defence that you were inside a private building and didn't expect public to be able to hear
Harvey v DPP is the case law that says that swearing whilst conversing with police is not enough to cause a public order offence. It also created the case law that clarified some vagueness in the original law. The law is worded and has been interpreted in the past to mean that such utterances that might alarm a reasonable person if that person was present would mean a public order offence had been committed. Harvey v DPP means that if the public aren't around (and the police tend to keep the public away) then swearing is not a public order offence. Especially if the swearing is along the lines of "stop being so fucking stupid". Swearing whilst making threats would still be classed as a section 4a even if it was just the police around.
Did u notice his reversing buzzer was still beeping after he got out the cab? Means rev gear was still selected after he left the vehicle and it was left running, I'm pretty sure that's an offence, its certainly bad practice because it's very dangerous!

I don't think it's been authorized yet but new body cameras have been developed for the force to use. Face recognition has been in use for 10+ years. ANPR does it, forward facing speed cameras do it, cctv, also shopping areas sell the feeds for face recognition. All fed to a Palantir Database and intelligence systems that various departments are given access to. NCA can pick a car and have everything about a driver and passenger in minutes, phone records, associates, spending, route driven, people they have been near. It's all stored. Nothing you do is private and that's why they don't want you to keep cash.

I've said it on other audits. These videos are an obvious justification to cut police numbers as they clearly aren't understaffed and have plenty of time on their hands to get involved in non-crimes.
