If they were confronted with a lady wearing religious face coverings (no, this is not a racist, but a context question), would they approach it in the same way? They would not. The more the video goes on, the more that idling, fishing, tired and/or uninterested, Joanne Froggatt-a-like, female cop, angers me.
She gets annoyed when questions aren't answered, which they don't have to answer.
    She mentions section 43.
After DJ has explained that they were filming in a public place, she rudely starts talking on the radio.
She says she's not satisfied with their answer of filming in a public place...
She carries on fishing for details of why they're filming and where the footage will be going.
She assumes they've been on private land.
Claims she wasn't fishing for details, when she clearly said "What's the website?" just 26 seconds earlier.
Still wants to know what it's for, even though it's none of her business, and is irrelevant.
After PJ has explained they film businesses usually on industrial estates, and DJ explained a scenario of why you might film a company, she assumes it's some type of revenge, and gets annoyed with DJ for correctly pointing out her fishing attempt.
She clearly wasn't happy about having to provide her details, especially as she hadn't got their details.
She gets more and more annoyed, admits she isn't interested in learning about drone laws, and only wants to know the reasons for lawful drone filming.
Then the male cop uses the repetitive line...
"You can see it from our point of view" No, no I can't! It has nothing to do with you.
    Doesn't announce he's filming, and says " It's not a problem."
I would answer every cop question with, "It is none of your business. Go tell the Police time wasting company, that members of the public are allowed to film anything they can see from public." And I would point out the idling too.

They are trained to take control of a situation and establish if a person has or is about to commit an offence. The problem with the premise of taking control, is that Rice V Connally 1966 means there is no legal obligation for member of the public to assist the Police prior to arrest or caution.
Thus, when the Police (as in this case) make the claim that avoiding to answer a question raises suspicion, they are actually acting contrary to Rice V Connally 1966.

@@andrewchild1592 In regards to your first assertion, your premise is, "provoke", which is to stimulate a reaction from someone.
I reply that, they are exercising the right to engage in lawful activity in a public place. If someone feels provoked by a member of the public exercising the right to engage in lawful activity in a public place, then the issue lies with that person feeling provoked, rather than with the lawful activity itself. Further, they don't even choose to engage with people, instead, people choose to engage with them.
In regards to your second assertion, your premise is whether they are working or claiming benefits.
I reply that, this is incongruent with whether they are exercising the right to engage in lawful activity in a public place. Whether that activity is lawful, is predicated upon Parliament prescribing or proscribing that activity. Whether they are working or not, does not determine Parliaments decision on that activity.
To summarise, your argument is made up of two premises which are both personal attacks. Therefore, both assertions are Argumentum Ad Hominem.

At the point at which she ventures into speculation this just digs an ever deeper hole and somebody needs to teach her to stop digging. For a variety of dodgy 'reasons' far too many cops seem to think that the public have to serve them not the other way round.
I will give her some credit for sitting there listening to you, it does make a pleasant change to encounter a cop who is not too rude and aggressive.
The second one rocks up and dives in when it gets to the bit about his camera he twitches and wriggles about a simple yes no answer to your legitimate question, he then give a typical torrent of cop-waffle about what you 'must' accept about them being silly.
I do still think that the service you provide with your observations and information is probably the best training they are going to get, really the Home Office should be paying you!.

I actually phoned 999 last week for a bad motorway RTC, and the operator and me listened to a lovely engaged tone, the operator had to redial around to get me connected to police control. We even got, a recorded messages that they are too busy call back later, and then press for options. Finally the operator got me throu somewhere, and they had no clue of this motorway locations, and they had to get a paper map out to find the junction, which in fact is one mile away from a police hq.
