Talk about trailer park boys more, it’s great
*Kyle, articulately and astutely breaking down thematic elements to a Kubrick Film
*Woody "Yeah Ready Player 1 was like the same thing"
The second half of “Full Metal Jacket’ feels necessary to me. I appreciate the juxtaposition but I think it’s more than that.
The fact that they never mention the death of the gunnery sgt. in the second half makes it feel like they’ve had more memorable events than pvt. Pyle’s breakdown. Also it shows that the movie isn’t just funny insults, it’s abuse that may or may not have been justified.
Agreed. Personally share the unpopular opinion that FMJ in it's entirety is a fantastic film.
I prefer the second part to the first.
SpongeBob the movie
SpongeBob *the movie*
Hear me out Shawn, what about a movie about Shrek in the Spongebob universe
@@RichardNixon1972 Stfu. You’re gonna turn the frogs gay dammit
@@zuphor5909 What do you think tap water is?
GOAT
Title should’ve been more like “Kyle gushing over Stanley Kubrick”
We gotta make "Thoughts w/ Kyle" happen
Top 5 movies I love to watch no particular order.
Forrest Gump
The Fifth Element
The Sixth Sense
Silence of the Lambs
Terminator 2
Mid
@@MrPink5754 name movies better than Silence of the lambs
I really want Kyle to watch a theory video that's like an hour long about the shining how the mom is actually going insane and almost every paranormal or even violent scenes have certain background items gone, from for example a couch to a pillar prove wendy isn't seeing and hearing things correctly. Idk It super interesting and I cant really explain it all or correct but if anyone's interested I'll totally look for it and link it.
I’m definitely interested
Interested

The Wendy theory is for stupid people and guys that think that making a movie theory is coming up with the craziest possible thing.
Leave it to woody to need an explanation for “trailer park boys”
Good to see you guys still posting , I remember FPS Russia. WOR, and Yoteslayer(unrelated) this is all good to see. I'm glad to see you in my feed
Rip Yote
Damn, i hadn't thought about yote for a long time... Thanks for the nostalgia. Imma go play some borderlands 2
My all time favorite old movie is _Phenomenon._ Its with John Travolta and got so much to it. It goes to the core of what human beings are. Has a wonderful setting and perfect acting. Can highly recommand it.
I feel like kyle would like the movie falling down
Sat in silence and laughed at the funny parts in the movie 🤣
Paths of glory is my favorite Kubrick movie. Something about that story speaks to my soul.
I think the main character in Clockwork Orange does get his comeuppance but the guys he was with never did! They became cops and then beat his ass! They seem to have lived great lives after doing such evil shit!
I stick to my favorite directors than favorite movies. Impossible to name 5 favorite movies.
Trailerparkboys is such a fantastic series! When you invest yourself into it and get to know al the karacters and how things go it honestly one of the best series out there!
Are you writing like Rick on purpose?
RSK
Oh the most refined palate in the universe speaks again....🙄
Clockwork Orange Full metal jacket are my favourite Stanley Kubrick movies
Yeah, I really like the second half of full metal jacket. It’s not as good as the first part but it definitely adds a lot
I enjoyed second half of FMJ.. Come and see is the best war movie though, subtitles and symbolism is a bit annoying but it shows the civilian POV which is rare to see.
The Green Mile is probably my favorite. LOTR if trilogies count.
taylors take on full metal jacket might be the first time I've disagreed with him lol.
A Clockwork Orange is my favourite film
I have been watching predator since I was 2 and my dad would talk loudnover most of the cussing scenes but did not care of the gore part
la haine
the lobster
the wicker man (1973)
Isle of dogs
last house on the left (1972)
the lighthouse is a close choice too
I think they went to the moon but I think what we saw was filmed if not all of it at least some of it. The thing that gets me is when they're lifting off like how are you watching that from a camera that's still on the moon when they're leaving????
I'm the opposite; I dont bother watching movies I love & value with chicks cause they never stfu & ask too many questions ruining the experience
i remeber watching Night of the living dead with 2 girls growing up
Strange Brew!!!
Predator is the best movie of all time
The Last Dragon
Barry Lyndon is my favorite Kubrick
la haine
coherence
the wicker man (1973)
Isle of dogs
last house on the left (1972)
honourable mentions: the lighthouse and the lobster
Shrek
Ever read the hellraiser books? They are really good
TPB is the best
Fight club
Un popular opinion, space landing wasnt fake but some footage was due to a tight budget and also limited videography,
Fury
Apocalypse now
Rotten Tomsttos audience score is great for an actaul quality meter. For some reason it's the hardest to search by but if you're looking for a rating of how enjoyable a movie is (which is really the only important thing; I don't watch a movie to be preached or care about your crtiques of society and such you never sacrifice enttertainment for those and when a director/screenwriter does they failed at thier job of making something i enjoy watching.) Basically audience score cuts through all the pretenious bs that gave Dave Chapelle like a 20% crtics 95% audience. Rotten tomatos if you read this please allow sorting by audience score like you do with critic scores. It's a far better metric of how good a movie will be.
I keep waiting for woody to not be part of the show
There's no show without the woodster
What movies are they talking about
Full metal jacket
It’s not because I don’t understand 2001 and the symbolism, and the film techniques, but I think that’s the most boring movie Kubrick ever made. It’s a 3 hour movie and only 45 minutes is good.
My girl told me the Saw series in pure genius. Would've broken up with her but she watches horror movies the same way I do, grim a comedic view, so I compromise
Anyone else think the volume of this podcast is way too low?
Sorry but clock work orange was not good
Thoughts on the movie? I’ve never seen it
@@xDishes honestly its been 20 years but I just remember thinking wtf is going on the whole time and then I passed out.
You ain't bri'ish,u wouldn't understand
You’re not good
Bad take
Taylor isn't wrong in his feelings about the second half. I can watch and enjoy it. But can't help but get s little frustrated. Because I've watched a lot of documentaries about Hue City it just doesn't seem depicted quite right. There was a lot of heavy duty fighting with lots and lots regular NVA soldiers. And not just a 12 year old girl sniper with an AK47. That's also what I've heard from veterans that fought at HUE, they said it didn't get it quite right. I still think it was a good movie, but could've been done better.
Do you think FMJ is great because it’s depiction is realistic? That’s not why it’s great.
I hate to be the one to do it but up until this comment there was 69
