The Deal is totally worth the hype in my opinion!! Something about Elle Kennedy's writing hooks me in so easily. Lots of dialogue, an adorable romance, covers tougher subject matter, and the spice in my opinion is done well!!

I read A Worthy Love a while back and had no idea that it was a part of an interconnected series and I really enjoyed it. I honestly wasn’t confused at all but of course reading the other books provides more background. I loved the whole series, the found family aspect was amazing and so comforting.
I almost pulled a Shawnaci lol and bought the whole Elle Kennedy series with The Deal and managed to hold off. I liked all the hockey/sport romances I have read so far but this series is soooo hyped. I’ll wait until you read it 😂
Try the dead guy next door by Lucy score. I'm on book 2 but I don't feel like they have as much spice in it. It's more of a murder mystery than just romance.
Although the spice continues in the rest of the Chestnut Springs series, I would say to at least give Heartless a shot! It and Reckless were my favorite - the characters and their banter got addictive in those two for me. If Heartless doesn't do it for you, I would say you could write off the rest, but it seems to be a favorite for many and is a quick read to know for sure whether the series if worth continuing or not! 😊
So I love AE Valdez I don’t know I just I like how she portrays her black characters. I feel like she does it in a way that I don’t see many black authors do. However, I do understand what people have said about the first book all I wanted and all I’ve needed the writing was a little weird. I just love the story and the characters so much that I was able to overlook it. However, in my opinion writing wise, it really does get so much better a worthy love and colliding with Faith were just so so good. I feel like you really got to get to know the character and their struggles and their lifestyles. However, her books are pretty spicy and I think that’s why I loved the first one because you got like the whole first half of the book with no spice and I love the buildup but other than that like I just I don’t know. I just really like her approach to her characters.

I read the AGGGTM trilogy as well as the novella this year. I would say you don't need to read any further than the 1st book as the other books were not great, in my opinion.

I just read flawless this week and feel the same. I don’t mind spice, but like was it adding to the storyline mehhh not really. Also, felt like the relationship was a book toxic. Super easy read, but definitely don’t get the hype. I gave it a 3 star - I liked some of the side characters like both of the main characters dads and appreciated how nice and comfortable the physical book is, but idk if I’ll check out the next book. Maybe, if you do lol

For the Lucy Score books like you, I feel like she puts way too much language and spice in the book that really isn't needed at all in my opinion that being said, she does write good characters, and the banter is very good. I thought the 3rd book wrapped it up, and finally, we got Sloans and Luciens story that we have been waiting for! Overall, I thought it was a good book minus the excessive spice and language.
