Whatever you want to call it, I’m leaving it between God and His people, each one who responded to want to know God more fully and follow more perfectly. And I’m praying that the lives impacted, to whatever extent, would never be the same; that they each would love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, and that they would love each other deeply.

I repented after that, but even after experiencing the Revival online still had some trouble with unresolved anger with those here and there resisting Holy Ghost, now I have no more trouble with that. Fun fact of Church history: In the 1800s members from different Christian denominations came together with the goal of harmonizing truths they discovered during the Protestant Reformation. They no longer let her go to church. She had been visiting her biological family for a year and befriended her sister, whom her grandmother raised. This is the teenage age of friendship. The last two Sabbaths her sister went her to the church. On sunday, march 5, when she was with her sister, the grandmother called the child protection house and they took her of the yard and took her phone from 3 p.m. to 10 a.m. She called me on tuesday and told me. On monday, I was în child protection. They won't let her talk to me, but she called me. Their biological grandmother was upset that her sister was going to church with her.

This out pouring of the Holy Spirt help those who had lost sight or had become stagnant in their faith, yet through the special time, as the LOrd´s presence moved among them... the believer once again has the desire to grow in their knowledge of God and to spend more time with Him. A deep love within the heart of the believer is awakened when this our pouring happens. As is the case for the individuals at Asbury University, they have a new love for God and a deep desire to grow closer to Him.

In Asbury, people keep on praising God, people pray together in the streets, atheist students turned to Jesus Christ. The word of the Lord is proclaimed in and outside the chapel The Lord is glorified. The Holy Spirit is moving to unite believers in worship and prayer. And this move of God quickly spread like fire all around the America and around the world. I did not personally go to Asbury, but it inspired me to be deeper with my relationship with the Lord. My love relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ was renewed. And now we experience to be filled with His presence each day! Sinful habits stop! The conviction is real in my heart that I do not want to hurt the Lord with sins! Only God would do this!!! For the devil won't do that for me and for other believers of Jesus Christ! The devil won't push you to worship God or to live a holy life. But the Holy Spirit through this Asbury Revival moves in our hearts to live a holy and pleasing life before the Lord! THIS IS TRUE RENEWAL! THIS IS TRUE REVIVAL!! And we will continue to seek God's presence and His holiness until the return of our Lord Jesus Christ!!
Did you listen to any of the presentation? People gathering from around the world as they do for the supper bowl doesn't equal revival. Not because people sing worship song, pray long and talk about it everywhere doesn't mean a revival. As for your experience yes things like this can inspire others to make changes but the test is: will it last? Not my business thou. Ask your self. 1. Am I still practicing the same sin as before? 2. Have I cut off, or put away, any behavior that is not God's will for me? 3. What are you doing new as a result of this? No doubt God can use opportunity Like this to reach people who have been running away from him, like the Atheist you're talk about but please do us a favor follow up with them 3 months from now and let us know. You might very well be blessed and touch by God but the event itself when you measure it by the revival we see in the bible doesn't fit.

Thank God there are many people who are saved and delivered in Asbury Revival. It's a revival because God is reviving the dead churches, empowering His people, filling His people with the Holy Spirit, saving people especially young people, and holiness is reemphasized.

@@brentjackson4151 I've read my bible several times from cover to cover. I have Known God since before I was 10 years old and I am now 65. I have given my life completely to Christ (no compromise). I received a full body healing from Him just like the people received that he healed while he was walking the earth (prostate cancer, two broken shoulders and a broken neck, emphezema, all the damage caused to my body from radiation treatment, and other things that I didn't even know I had). And when He did it, He made it obvious what He had done. Now to your question. Who was in the upper room on the day of Pentecost when they were filled with the Holy Spirit during the bible revival? Were they sinless? Or was Jesus the only sinless person to ever walk on earth? You would have to make the same mistake that pastor Doug is making by thinking you know the hearts of those that were at the Kentucky revival or even those that were leading it. If you want to give me a bible study, that's fine. But although I'm not a bible expert, I think I know my bible pretty well.

At the beginning of this video, he said that he would not say anything about the worship because he didn't want to speak against the HOLY SPIRIT. But, he made emphasis on revival. I worship GOD everyday of my life but I am still fighting against some sins but when I find myself standing against some sins and by HIS Grace not doing them anymore, then, by HIS grace, I accepted the revival HE wanted to do in my life.

He has no idea who's hearts were changed (only God can judge people's hearts). He should know this if he is a responsible pastor. I admit that I felt an abundance of caution about this revival, but God is almighty. It is written that His Word doesn't return to Him without first accomplishing what He sent it to do. Jesus is the Word and is almighty. Nothing is impossible for Him and nothing is to difficult for Him. As a Christian, I do believe I must pray for them. He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it to the day of Christ Jesus. Perhaps that work has begun in them. May we see it completed for His glory.

To me, a young Cuban pastor, this was a several-day concert that attracted lots of attention but I have not yet seen the change in people’s hearts. I've read my bible cover to cover several times and am up between 5 and 6 every morning reading my bible and asking God for knowledge and wisdom. I will continue to read my bible until my last day on earth. I'm 65 years old and have given my life fully to Christ (ABSOLUTELY NO COMPROMISE). A few days after I made this covenant with God, He Healed me head to toe (prostate cancer, emphazema, two broken shoulders and a broken neck from a plane wreck, I had damage from 68 rounds of radiation treatments totally healed. He healed something in my head by my right ear. and I could go on). He made it obvious that he was healing me. I actually felt him pull the disease out of my lung. He did all this without blood loss or scars. I can tell that you aren't all that familiar with His Word because if you were, you would understand that this scripture that "Elemenopy Que" is quoting (Mathew 24:26) is talking about when Jesus returns in the end time. the next verse (27) explains it. In other words, when He comes, we will all be able to see Him at the same time. You seriously need to quit following pastors and people on what the word of God says and read it for yourself like you said "praying for discernment". I believe he said there was some who were genuinely touched and some repented and were born again, but AS A WHOLE it did not line up with Biblical definition of true revival. Please Listen again carefully as to his presentation of facts. Christians need to have spiritual discernment to judge the fruit and works of what may be presented as a work of the Holy Spirit.Satan is a MASTER counterfeiter of spiritual happenings.Need to be very prayerful and willing to accept the truth revealed by the Holy Spirit.Experiences should NEVER be accepted and believed over the Word of God.
The only way we can evaluate people’s hearts is by using the litmus test of Isaiah 8:20- “To the law and to the testimony, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” We can leave the judging to Jesus, but in order to evaluate soundly, we must heed what Scripture says. We have a test of measurement. Pastor Doug is well versed in the Law of God and the testimony of the Prophets and Jesus Christ- and this is his standard of evaluation.

What happened at Asbury was a spark of revival - it was the beginning of something beautiful, it was an invitation for the church to pray for revival all around the world! The Lord is just getting started! You are right in some ways... What happened there did not tick all the criteria's you mentioned but that is exactly why the Lord wants the church to be grateful for what took place and humble ourselves for more. It is a miracle that young students gathered together for hours non-stop to praise Jesus...how is that not revival in this day and age where young people are living in deep deception & attack from the enemy!? I have gone to "revival meetings" before and the youth do NOT want to stay for more than a couple of hours... Personally, I also see no harm in the media showcasing what was taking place. When the presence of the Lord is manifesting on the earth, He has authority over the media...all things belong to Him, it's just that the enemy enjoys taking territory when the church is not walking in authority. The enemy only wants filth displayed on the airwaves. I pray that as we see more of Revival on the earth, the media will be FORCED to broadcast what God is doing! Amen!
Can I ask something? If you go out to a busy public and you start looking up at the sky as if there's something there, you think people will eventually start looking up as well? Another question. Do you think the feeding of the 5,000 was a revival? 5,000 people come out to see and hear Jesus, and He ends up perfoming a miracle of feeding everyone with only 5 loaves of bread and 2 small fish. Does this clasify as a revival?

I say these things humbly I just hope the Body of Christ is asking the Lord what HE thinks about it rather than being influenced by RUclips videos. Personally, I believe Asbury was an invitation to bring forth revival in our own lives & churches. Have you heard the voice of the prophets about this issue? If they speak not according to the Word there is no light in them. Isaiah 8:20 The Holy Spirit can move in peoples individual hearts, and ultimately He teaches truth as it is in the Word, and brings change to peoples lives, according to the Scriptures.
@@temprary580 Because he gets you to feel good while you’re still deep in your sin. We are to repent of and forsake our sin and follow Jesus. Getting people to feel good isn’t a bad thing in itself, but it can become bad if it gets people to achieve an emotional euphoria and therefore disregard the call of God: believe and repent.

2 Timothy 3:5 warns us that in the last days people will have a form of godliness but denying the power thereof. That being said, “positive emotion” is not the sole indicator that a thing is good. Paul in Romans states ”And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience…” Peter corroborates by stating that we truly know that we are on the right path when we can exhibit positivity during duress. And so I agree with audiostar that the devil does in fact lull us into a false sense of security by appealing to our emotions without us recognizing that reformation is a conscious effort to go against our sinful nature despite our innate desires knowing full well that it is the Holy Spirit who will guide the change as we are incapable of same on the terms of our own strength.
If one soul was won for the kingdom it was worth the effort.....it is not for us to make judgements on whether it was or wasn't!! I'm going to say like Ezekiel "God you know". So let's embrace these young people and continue to encourage them in prayer and worship. They're not out there causing mayhem!!! As an SDA member I applauded them. At least if some had never heard of God in that way before, their curiosity may just cause them to search...so let go and let GOD....Amen
I agree with the above comment. It may not have been a Revival as such, but it was a gathering of young people who were anxious to come together and sing and pray to God. That was refreshing and encouraging to see. Now, it remains to be seen how many lives are truly changed and how many will repent of their sins and be baptized and live by the Word of God, including all His Commandments. God will judge in all righteousness🙏🏻
Pastor Doug is correct on all points. You are also correct in saying that we need to pray. As a fellow SDA we know that not all worship is acceptable to God. The Northern kingdom had their temple in Samaria and they kept the feasts and festivals, but God was not in it. What I got from Pastor Doug is to test all things. Do not go blindly and say "at least" We fell short in one of our own institutions recently when a visiting Christian artist said to our Adventist youth "choose your Sabbath" "any day can be Sabbath" and they cheered. We must test the spirits that are at work especially when we congregate. If it does not look, feel or sound right, then we need to move away and pray. I have a problem with a few Christian genres and the festivals that go with it , Hip hop, Reggae, Rock Gospel to name a few. In the UK we have a sound that I cannot describe the genre. The sound is the street coming into the church and is being accepted by our youth. We need to be watchful of the enemy at the the door who is coming in though different means and creating counterfeit worship with Jesus sprinkled like confetti in it. You are speaking the absolute truth. It is sad to read where so many people seem to be clueless about how a might move of God works. I never heard anyone talking about the destructive effect of sin on their lives. Neither did people cry out in anguish over how sin has offended a Holy God. The fact that the administration shut the meeting down with no apparent pushback speaks volumes. It is a dangerous thing to piss of the Spirit of God. Thank you for reminding us that God is a jealous god. Nothing you said tried to diminish those who were saved. You spoke only about the rush of some to declare Asbury as a spectacular event rarely seen. Oh, the power of social media.

Maybe it's just me but trying to negate something the Holy Spirit initiated is probably not a good call. As Jesus said, " you will know it by it's fruits". Young people praising God is a good and wonderful thing folks. Let's be grateful for His spirit and grace. Personally, I think we are going to see this happen more and more as His spirit stirs things up throughout the world. We, his people are hungry for it as Asbury clearly showed.
I agree that God is using young people, but it isn't judging wrongly to look at what God's Word says. If a "revival" doesn't include repenting and changing hearts, it isn't one. It is by your own words, looking at people's fruits, that we can discern for ourselves what is a revival. Pentecostal churches always have prayer and praise and seeming "Holy Spirit" influence. It leads to nothing because it doesn't have any meat to it. The primary work of the Holy Spirit is conviction of sin and guidance into all truth, so if that isn't the main thing going on, true conversion isn't occurring. Do you know that the reason why most will be deceived is because Satan himself will personate Christ in the end times, leading people astray by emotions and a supposed latter rain? Emotions and Prayer are wonderful, but not distinct from the Law and Word of God. I believe, like Doug, that God is using young people at these events, but they are not His true plan.

@Lily Powell Most baptisms that occur happen because they didn't truly know what they were doing. They were roused by an emotional sermon that didn't really teach them anything. That still proves my point. Asbury didn't include much repentance. It was very mild. LGBT people were leading out in things and they weren't convicted of their lifestyles being wrong or anything. If sin was truly being prioritized, the media wouldn't be so warm to it all. Persecution follows true Godly events. There was none here. There isn't one example in the Bible of revivals without persecution. God did work on many, I'm sure. That doesn't mean it was all God working. I believe it started out well because it began as a Bible study, but it didn't continue that way. I think the devil slipped in and changed the focus to feelings rather than, "Thus sayeth the Lord." We must only use the Bible as our guide and source of truth to discern what is totally of God, and what is not.
@B K I appreciate your feedback, but can you not just tell me but actually use the Bible to defend your statement. I always have things to learn. The devil always does things like this. Things initially started by God get corrupted and used for Satan. It's just like Kora, Dathan, and Abiram. They initially followed God but got deceived and let Satan control them. They eventually followed their emotions instead of God's commandment and Word. They thought they had the Holy Spirit and that God was using them, but because they had no basis in God's Words or commands, they were actually following Satan. We must be careful to not use feelings only. The Bible is central to any revival, and that is not what happened here. It started out with a Bible study, but turned into a prayer and song meeting. These things God can and does use, but those who came to the revival weren't taught any meaningful information that they can use to change their lives. Once they go home and lose the feeling, they won't know what to do because their basis wasn't on the Word but emotion. I gladly accept any reproof so long as it's only Bible based and not man's word.
I was at the Asbury Revival, people were repenting and confessing publically...these things were not recorded and streamed live on youtube. People were proclaiming God's glory and sharing testimony throughout the hours of worship. The leaders on campus were doing their best to steward what God was doing in the space. What was happening in Hughes Hall flowed in and through the hearts of those intimately affected in what the Lord was doing. Truly there is no way we can track the tangible effects of the revival, thats why i would rather call it an outpouring because we cant see the end result on this side of heaven. When we all lealft Asbury, we went back to where we came from empowered by God's love and new convictions. What happened is Holy Spirit empowered His people, this was just one example of what he is doing everywhere in the hearts of His people.

I am always a bit reluctant to hear criticism from those who have not done their due diligence in fully researching the subject matters when it pertains to people’s witnesses and confessions of Christ Jesus. I appreciate your interest in wanting to know if what occurred at ASBURY was a true revival in the sense of the word. I to look forward to see the fruit that may yet bear out from a deeper connection with God. “For where two or more shall be gathered in My Name, there I am with them.” I take Jesus at His word. How sweet of a fellowship that was had, not bore of planning but just became a welling up of love, tears and thankfulness and repentance. This is what I have heard 1st hand. Like you I was not there. Luke who was a disciple of Paul did not witness Jesus firsthand but he did interview many who did give him first hand testimony. It would be good for you to see if you can network into some first hand participants and hear more fully of what they experienced and what the saw that was happening around them. I understand people where praying over one another who were confessing of their sins. It may very well not be a full fledge revival but it surely was a movement born of the willing and desiring presence of the Holy Spirit.

That's a lie . Don't follow his words on this matter. Even Doug missed big time about pandemic, vaccines, lockdowns, chemtrails, government deception led by satan trough Vatican . He missed the biggest deception in the world history and biggest turn away from God of many Christians. He can't recognize works of evil from works of satan, because he rejected prophets of God in this days and been deceived by lock of knowledge because of ignorance in this matter. We're going to experience 2nd greater Exodus and deliverance from all our enemies and from tyranny and slavery and God will stripp those who been stealing from his people and will return back to them 7 times more, just like it happened in Egypt to Israelis . I don't think they ever testified it was a revival, only the media gave it that title. God is moving among his people not the unsaved at this time, once he awakens us then time will come for the worldwide revival.

Yes, it is our love for God and our neighbor (anyone who needs our help) upon which “hang all the law and the prophets,” which means that it is our love for God that teaches us How to love all His law and other people. “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul.”
Revival is God coming in a powerful way and reviving his people. What you were talking about is an awakening. God comes as He comes and who is to tell God how it should be. I have been in a major revival that lasted 5 years in Vancouver and those who receive know but those who don’t receive simply don’t have a clue.
While I listened to the Asbury revival on RUclips while cleaning my sister's house, I had a tiny voice inside ask if it was actually legit. I didn't know so I continued to listen. After the video ended, I figured it was good, overall, since it brought so many ppl from near and far. Now I'm listening to Pastor Doug and I'm thinking again on it: was it real, or just another passing fad? I'll keep listening and watching for the REAL THING. Happy Sabbath, everyone.
Hi Siobhán! That makes sense, to ask if it's legit or just a fad. So many people today claim the name of Christ just in passing. When I see things like this I think of the feeding of the 5,000 by Jesus. He later stated people were following Him after that out of curiosity to see what else He'd do. Conversion is not based on feelings because feelings come and go. And although everything points to this not being the real thing, only time will tell with 100 percent certainty because one things is to join thousands of people in song at a meeting, another is to turn your life around, forsake your sin and purposely live for Christ every day not only in word, but in deed.

@Christ Jesus. People always thought that the chief on the cross didn't do anything. That is wrong. Let's us see what he did. Publicly, he rebuked the other one, meaning he preached about CHRIST JESUS. Publicly, he confessed that he believed JESUS is The MESSIAH; and publicly, he preached about the kingdom of Glory when JESUS CHRIST will come back to gather all His children. That was a real revival.
I like how Pastor Doug said that even though it was not a biblical revival, "we don't wanna say that God was not in it in some way," (2:03). l would be very careful to completely dismiss the hands of God in something like this. The Devil will always come to smear the works of God, but God is always in control among His children.

I was there. Were you? I'm wondering if you didn't see these things because you weren't there. 1.) There WAS calling to repentance and hours of testimony of repentance. Repentance of homosexuality, pride, ignoring God's word etc. I've seen 2.) There have been many coming to the faith and getting baptized all over the world after seeing it partaking in Asbury and other campuses it spread to. 3.) Specifically saw sexual sins repented of. Specifically saw and heard church leaders repent of not being biblical leaders or areas they were lacking in. 4.) Lots of false teachers showed up to promote their own ministry. Many of them were escorted off the campus. They were not allowed to speak . 5.) This has flowed out to collages and churches all over the nation. Even secular schools. I don't know why you think it has evaporated. All you have to do is a good search. 6.) The emphasis has been on Jesus. The central focus has been on humility and the person of Jesus and the Word. If course you'll have people who feel things in environments like that. If you don't feel anything I'd wonder about you lol. 7.) The biggest resistance has been from within the "church" why would the world have to step in when Satan has the church ripping itself apart from within? Just my thoughts. It wasn't "perfect" but I was there. I saw with my own eyes and heard with my own ears the real repentance and people being saved. I see people still today, back in their own towns speaking the truth with new boldness and commitment to holiness. I've also seen smaller scale revivals in families and churches this year since BEFORE Asbury happened. I would take your own advice you gave in the beginning of the video. Be very careful about saying what is or isn't from God. Especially if all you're seeing is clips through social media. .
Mark 9:38-40 John said to him, "Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him, because he was not following us." But Jesus said, "Do not stop him; for no one who does a deed of power in my name will be able soon afterward to speak evil of me. Whoever is not against us is for us."
On point. Some of these comments reflect Jesus' concern and admonition to the "very elect," to make sure that they "are not deceived ". This teaching was done in love, with scripture and reason. Pray for true revival, even that if this was a false move, what the devil means for evil, that God would mean for good.
I appreciate Doug's caution by NOT saying the Holy Spirit was not present because revival is personal. Some ppl who went report some WERE confessing their sins. Could it be that the media hid the sins mentioned?
I was very afraid of looking at this 'revival' with any skepticism out of fear of courting God's Wrath on myself. I found that I could pray for all those that attended that conference that seeds of faith would be planted in their hearts; and that it would lead them to reading their bibles and praying in their normal lives; maybe even forming 'study groups' to really plough through God's Truth's in the Holy Bible. To truly be saved, one has to accept Jesus into their hearts; admit to their sins and then there should be a true longing to pursue a true and daily relationship with the Chief Cornerstone. We saw the letter that was sent to Ephesus in Revelations and what happened there; a crowd can be seemingly be 'on fire' for our Lord; and then the fire just dwindle away. I pray that these young people will stay on fire; and that they continue on their Pilgrim's Progress in a true relationship with our Lord.

If you read carefully in Acts 2:46-47, …with sincere heart, they were praising God. In Asbury, they’re not merely singing but praising God. I believe in Heaven we’re no longer reading the scripture but singing praises to the Lord in His presence. I have seen in video of Asbury how one of them repented. The opposition maybe not from the authority but probably from the other Christian who are questioning the work of God.

Pray for my daughter, Niță Valentina. She was taken by child protection a week ago în ROMANIA, EUROPE. I adopted my daughter 13 years ago. She is 15 years old and wants to be baptized. They no longer let her go to church. She had been visiting her biological family for a year and befriended her sister, whom her grandmother raised. This is the teenage age of friendship. The last two Sabbaths her sister went her to the church. On sunday, march 5, when she was with her sister, the grandmother called the child protection house and they took her of the yard and took her phone from 3 p.m. to 10 a.m. She called me on tuesday and told me. On monday, I was în child protection. They won't let her talk to me, but she called me. Their biological grandmother was upset that her sister was going to church with her.

I'm in KY and heard the story that the revival began with one student who began confessing his sins.
A rose by any other name will smell as sweet. So... you do not have to call it a revival but the Lord is moving in wonderful ways that was not happening before. This out pouring of the Holy Spirt help those who had lost sight or had become stagnant in their faith, yet through the special time, as the LOrd´s presence moved among them... the believer once again has the desire to grow in their knowledge of God and to spend more time with Him. A deep love within the heart of the believer is awakened when this our pouring happens.
As is the case for the individuals at Asbury University, they have a new love for God and a deep desire to grow closer to Him.
The fact the media is talking about it is a red flag for me. He made some very valid points.

In Asbury, people keep on praising God, people pray together in the streets, atheist students turned to Jesus Christ. The word of the Lord is proclaimed in and outside the chapel The Lord is glorified. The Holy Spirit is moving to unite believers in worship and prayer. And this move of God quickly spread like fire all around the America and around the world. I did not personally go to Asbury, but it inspired me to be deeper with my relationship with the Lord. My love relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ was renewed. And now we experience to be filled with His presence each day! Sinful habits stop! The conviction is real in my heart that I do not want to hurt the Lord with sins! Only God would do this!!! For the devil won't do that for me and for other believers of Jesus Christ! The devil won't push you to worship God or to live a holy life. But the Holy Spirit through this Asbury Revival moves in our hearts to live a holy and pleasing life before the Lord! THIS IS TRUE RENEWAL! THIS IS TRUE REVIVAL!! And we will continue to seek God's presence and His holiness until the return of our Lord Jesus Christ!!
Did you listen to any of the presentation? People gathering from around the world as they do for the supper bowl doesn't equal revival. Not because people sing worship song, pray long and talk about it everywhere doesn't mean a revival.
As for your experience yes things like this can inspire others to make changes but the test is: will it last? Not my business thou. Ask your self. 1. Am I still practicing the same sin as before? 2. Have I cut off, or put away, any behavior that is not God's will for me? 3. What are you doing new as a result of this?
No doubt God can use opportunity Like this to reach people who have been running away from him, like the Atheist you're talk about but please do us a favor follow up with them 3 months from now and let us know.
You might very well be blessed and touch by God but the event itself when you measure it by the revival we see in the bible doesn't fit.

Thank God there are many people who are saved and delivered in Asbury Revival. It's a revival because God is reviving the dead churches, empowering His people, filling His people with the Holy Spirit, saving people especially young people, and holiness is reemphasized.

I received a full body healing from Him just like the people received that he healed while he was walking the earth (prostate cancer, two broken shoulders and a broken neck, emphezema, all the damage caused to my body from radiation treatment, and other things that I didn't even know I had). And when He did it, He made it obvious what He had done. Now to your question. Who was in the upper room on the day of Pentecost when they were filled with the Holy Spirit during the bible revival? Were they sinless? Or was Jesus the only sinless person to ever walk on earth? You would have to make the same mistake that pastor Doug is making by thinking you know the hearts of those that were at the Kentucky revival or even those that were leading it. If you want to give me a bible study, that's fine. But although I'm not a bible expert, I think I know my bible pretty well.

@Christ Jesus why are you confusing worship and revival? He never said that is not worship. He said that is not a revival. At the beginning of this video, he said that he would not say anything about the worship because he didn't want to speak against the HOLY SPIRIT. But, he made emphasis on revival. I worship GOD everyday of my life but I am still fighting against some sins but when I find myself standing against some sins and by HIS Grace not doing them anymore, then, by HIS grace, I accepted the revival HE wanted to do in my life.

He has no idea who's hearts were changed (only God can judge people's hearts). He should know this if he is a responsible pastor. The word revival doesn't even appear in the bible, so how did he use the bible to judge that? Apparently you follow the pastor blindly without reading for yourself. I admit that I felt an abundance of caution about this revival, but God is almighty. It is written that His Word doesn't return to Him without first accomplishing what He sent it to do. Jesus is the Word and is almighty. Nothing is impossible for Him and nothing is to difficult for Him. As a Christian, I do believe I must pray for them. He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it to the day of Christ Jesus.
Perhaps that work has begun in them. May we see it completed for His glory.

You have mentioned every single point I have been talking about for the last few weeks. To me, a young Cuban pastor, this was a several-day concert that attracted lots of attention but I have not yet seen the change in people’s hearts. I pray for genuine revival in our churches in the United States and hope that we can be the church we are supposed to be; only then will the kingdom of heaven will be strong on earth.

I've read my bible cover to cover several times and am up between 5 and 6 every morning reading my bible and asking God for knowledge and wisdom. I will continue to read my bible until my last day on earth. I'm 65 years old and have given my life fully to Christ (ABSOLUTELY NO COMPROMISE). A few days after I made this covenant with God, He Healed me head to toe (prostate cancer, emphazema, two broken shoulders and a broken neck from a plane wreck, I had damage from 68 rounds of radiation treatments totally healed. He healed something in my head by my right ear. and I could go on). He made it obvious that he was healing me. I actually felt him pull the disease out of my lung. He did all this without blood loss or scars. I can tell that you aren't all that familiar with His Word because if you were, you would understand that this scripture that "Elemenopy Que" is quoting (Mathew 24:26) is talking about when Jesus returns in the end time. the next verse (27) explains it. In other words, when He comes, we will all be able to see Him at the same time. You seriously need to quit following pastors and people on what the word of God says and read it for yourself like you said "praying for discernment". If you want to have a bible competition, although I'm not an expert, you're no match for me at this point.

Please Listen again carefully as to his presentation of facts. Christians need to have spiritual discernment to judge the fruit and works of what may be presented as a work of the Holy Spirit.Satan is a MASTER counterfeiter of spiritual happenings.Need to be very prayerful and willing to accept the truth revealed by the Holy Spirit.Experiences should NEVER be accepted and believed over the Word of God.

The only way we can evaluate people’s hearts is by using the litmus test of Isaiah 8:20- “To the law and to the testimony, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” We can leave the judging to Jesus, but in order to evaluate soundly, we must heed what Scripture says. We have a test of measurement. Pastor Doug is well versed in the Law of God and the testimony of the Prophets and Jesus Christ- and this is his standard of evaluation.
Hmm I'm not sure how to feel about this message, respectfully Pastor. What happened at Asbury was a spark of revival - it was the beginning of something beautiful, it was an invitation for the church to pray for revival all around the world! The Lord is just getting started!
You are right in some ways... What happened there did not tick all the criteria's you mentioned but that is exactly why the Lord wants the church to be grateful for what took place and humble ourselves for more.
It is a miracle that young students gathered together for hours non-stop to praise Jesus...how is that not revival in this day and age where young people are living in deep deception & attack from the enemy!? I have gone to "revival meetings" before and the youth do NOT want to stay for more than a couple of hours...
Personally, I also see no harm in the media showcasing what was taking place. When the presence of the Lord is manifesting on the earth, He has authority over the media...all things belong to Him, it's just that the enemy enjoys taking territory when the church is not walking in authority. The enemy only wants filth displayed on the airwaves. I pray that as we see more of Revival on the earth, the media will be FORCED to broadcast what God is doing! Amen!

If you go out to a busy public and you start looking up at the sky as if there's something there, you think people will eventually start looking up as well?
Another question. Do you think the feeding of the 5,000 was a revival? 5,000 people come out to see and hear Jesus, and He ends up perfoming a miracle of feeding everyone with only 5 loaves of bread and 2 small fish. Does this clasify as a revival?

Getting people to feel good isn’t a bad thing in itself, but it can become bad if it gets people to achieve an emotional euphoria and therefore disregard the call of God: believe and repent.

2 Timothy 3:5 warns us that in the last days people will have a form of godliness but denying the power thereof. That being said, “positive emotion” is not the sole indicator that a thing is good. Paul in Romans states ”And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience…” Peter corroborates by stating that we truly know that we are on the right path when we can exhibit positivity during duress. And so I agree with audiostar that the devil does in fact lull us into a false sense of security by appealing to our emotions without us recognizing that reformation is a conscious effort to go against our sinful nature despite our innate desires knowing full well that it is the Holy Spirit who will guide the change as we are incapable of same on the terms of our own strength.
If one soul was won for the kingdom it was worth the effort.....it is not for us to make judgements on whether it was or wasn't!! I'm going to say like Ezekiel "God you know". So let's embrace these young people and continue to encourage them in prayer and worship. They're not out there causing mayhem!!! As an SDA member I applauded them. At least if some had never heard of God in that way before, their curiosity may just cause them to search...so let go and let GOD....Amen

I agree with the above comment. It may not have been a Revival as such, but it was a gathering of young people who were anxious to come together and sing and pray to God. That was refreshing and encouraging to see. Now, it remains to be seen how many lives are truly changed and how many will repent of their sins and be baptized and live by the Word of God, including all His Commandments. God will judge in all righteousness🙏🏻
Well that's the point he is making yes it was good yes people talked about God. But it wasn't a revival which is all he is saying..
Pastor Doug is correct on all points. You are also correct in saying that we need to pray. As a fellow SDA we know that not all worship is acceptable to God. The Northern kingdom had their temple in Samaria and they kept the feasts and festivals, but God was not in it. What I got from Pastor Doug is to test all things. Do not go blindly and say "at least" We fell short in one of our own institutions recently when a visiting Christian artist said to our Adventist youth "choose your Sabbath" "any day can be Sabbath" and they cheered. We must test the spirits that are at work especially when we congregate. If it does not look, feel or sound right, then we need to move away and pray. I have a problem with a few Christian genres and the festivals that go with it , Hip hop, Reggae, Rock Gospel to name a few. In the UK we have a sound that I cannot describe the genre. The sound is the street coming into the church and is being accepted by our youth. We need to be watchful of the enemy at the the door who is coming in though different means and creating counterfeit worship with Jesus sprinkled like confetti in it. You are speaking the absolute truth. It is sad to read where so many people seem to be clueless about how a might move of God works. I never heard anyone talking about the destructive effect of sin on their lives. Neither did people cry out in anguish over how sin has offended a Holy God. The fact that the administration shut the meeting down with no apparent pushback speaks volumes. It is a dangerous thing to piss of the Spirit of God. Wow, that was EXACTLY what I thought. If this were a true revival, where’s all the “hate?” Why isn’t anyone getting “arrested?” Where’s the persecution? By Batchelor's reasoning, *1844 was a false revival* . The Millerites actually came up with the "Shut Door" doctrine as time approached the October 22 date. This was passed on to the "little flock". As a result, the early SDA pioneers did not evangelize anyone until around 1851 (for a period of around seven years, they thought they were the only ones saved).

Maybe it's just me but trying to negate something the Holy Spirit initiated is probably not a good call. As Jesus said, " you will know it by it's fruits". Young people praising God is a good and wonderful thing folks. Let's be grateful for His spirit and grace. Personally, I think we are going to see this happen more and more as His spirit stirs things up throughout the world. We, his people are hungry for it as Asbury clearly showed.
I agree that God is using young people, but it isn't judging wrongly to look at what God's Word says. If a "revival" doesn't include repenting and changing hearts, it isn't one. It is by your own words, looking at people's fruits, that we can discern for ourselves what is a revival. Pentecostal churches always have prayer and praise and seeming "Holy Spirit" influence. It leads to nothing because it doesn't have any meat to it. The primary work of the Holy Spirit is conviction of sin and guidance into all truth, so if that isn't the main thing going on, true conversion isn't occurring. Do you know that the reason why most will be deceived is because Satan himself will personate Christ in the end times, leading people astray by emotions and a supposed latter rain? Emotions and Prayer are wonderful, but not distinct from the Law and Word of God. I believe, like Doug, that God is using young people at these events, but they are not His true plan.

@Lily Powell Most baptisms that occur happen because they didn't truly know what they were doing. They were roused by an emotional sermon that didn't really teach them anything. That still proves my point.
Asbury didn't include much repentance. It was very mild. LGBT people were leading out in things and they weren't convicted of their lifestyles being wrong or anything.
If sin was truly being prioritized, the media wouldn't be so warm to it all. Persecution follows true Godly events. There was none here. There isn't one example in the Bible of revivals without persecution.
God did work on many, I'm sure. That doesn't mean it was all God working. I believe it started out well because it began as a Bible study, but it didn't continue that way. I think the devil slipped in and changed the focus to feelings rather than, "Thus sayeth the Lord."
We must only use the Bible as our guide and source of truth to discern what is totally of God, and what is not.

@B K I appreciate your feedback, but can you not just tell me but actually use the Bible to defend your statement. I always have things to learn.
The devil always does things like this. Things initially started by God get corrupted and used for Satan. It's just like Kora, Dathan, and Abiram. They initially followed God but got deceived and let Satan control them. They eventually followed their emotions instead of God's commandment and Word. They thought they had the Holy Spirit and that God was using them, but because they had no basis in God's Words or commands, they were actually following Satan.
We must be careful to not use feelings only. The Bible is central to any revival, and that is not what happened here. It started out with a Bible study, but turned into a prayer and song meeting. These things God can and does use, but those who came to the revival weren't taught any meaningful information that they can use to change their lives. Once they go home and lose the feeling, they won't know what to do because their basis wasn't on the Word but emotion.
I gladly accept any reproof so long as it's only Bible based and not man's word.
I was at the Asbury Revival, people were repenting and confessing publically...these things were not recorded and streamed live on youtube. People were proclaiming God's glory and sharing testimony throughout the hours of worship. The leaders on campus were doing their best to steward what God was doing in the space. What was happening in Hughes Hall flowed in and through the hearts of those intimately affected in what the Lord was doing. Truly there is no way we can track the tangible effects of the revival, thats why i would rather call it an outpouring because we cant see the end result on this side of heaven. When we all lealft Asbury, we went back to where we came from empowered by God's love and new convictions. What happened is Holy Spirit empowered His people, this was just one example of what he is doing everywhere in the hearts of His people.

You have to remember that the SDA denomination are by nature very sceptical of the workings, moving, outpouring of the holy spirit & more than likely see it as demonic....

I am always a bit reluctant to hear criticism from those who have not done their due diligence in fully researching the subject matters when it pertains to people’s witnesses and confessions of Christ Jesus. I appreciate your interest in wanting to know if what occurred at ASBURY was a true revival in the sense of the word. I to look forward to see the fruit that may yet bear out from a deeper connection with God. “For where two or more shall be gathered in My Name, there I am with them.” I take Jesus at His word. How sweet of a fellowship that was had, not bore of planning but just became a welling up of love, tears and thankfulness and repentance. This is what I have heard 1st hand. Like you I was not there. Luke who was a disciple of Paul did not witness Jesus firsthand but he did interview many who did give him first hand testimony. It would be good for you to see if you can network into some first hand participants and hear more fully of what they experienced and what the saw that was happening around them. I understand people where praying over one another who were confessing of their sins. It may very well not be a full fledge revival but it surely was a movement born of the willing and desiring presence of the Holy Spirit.
I was looking for this comment. This man should have went to see what happened before giving his speech in his office. I would then be more inclined to listen. He really falls under a type of scoffer.

When I would watch videos of the revival I could see and feel the holy spirit moving through them it made me have tears of joy so I don't know why this pastor has to Judge something he was not a part of or witnessed
The only ones who know about what happened at that Ashbury are the people themselves and not to people who are judging from the outside looking in not going into it and taking head of the lord had poured out on them not only inside the building but in yard and those who watch from their home device and found themselves in aww and drawn to the holy spirit people where healed in the mighty name of Jesus christ and demons casted out by the blood of the most highly Jesus christ I saw it moving and angels in some pictures beside people but stayed strong men and women in now with the holy spirit who can be against us that revival was needed at this point in time

That's a lie . Don't follow his words on this matter. Even Doug missed big time about pandemic, vaccines, lockdowns, chemtrails, government deception led by satan trough Vatican . He missed the biggest deception in the world history and biggest turn away from God of many Christians. He can't recognize works of evil from works of satan, because he rejected prophets of God in this days and been deceived by lock of knowledge because of ignorance in this matter. He is a good guy and I was blessed by him many times , but in this season of testing of our faith through pandemic deception he failed to see the whole picture and he can't fully understand what God is doing right now. Also his prediction will.not happen, because we're NOT going to enter beast system or Sunday law enforcement, but something completely different this years . Beast system and Sunday law enforcement will not happen before outpouring of the Holly Spirit and Gods glory and his deliverance from slavery and from beast system we been born into. We're going to experience 2nd greater Exodus and deliverance from all our enemies and from tyranny and slavery and God will stripp those who been stealing from his people and will return back to them 7 times more, just like it happened in Egypt to Israelis . Because God is absolutely good God.
I don't think they ever testified it was a revival, only the media gave it that title. God is moving among his people not the unsaved at this time, once he awakens us then time will come for the worldwide revival.

Pastor Doug cut to the chase on this church event as Jesus always did. No soft-shoe or beating around the bush.
While everybody has to start somewhere, the Presence of Christ through the Holy Ghost leads to teaching "the knowledge of sin" as "taught in the word." This in turn draws the kind of "repentance to salvation not to be repented of."
Then comes conversion by the Spirit’s conviction of what defines “the truth of Christ.”
Baptisms “in Christ” follow through which the Spirit that led the revival concludes with the hunger to do mission work.
This is where new Christians team up with experienced, well-read Christians to learn the diverse methods of witnessing the Gospel.

Revival is God coming in a powerful way and reviving his people. What you were talking about is an awakening. God comes as He comes and who is to tell God how it should be. I have been in a major revival that lasted 5 years in Vancouver and those who receive know but those who don’t receive simply don’t have a clue.

While I listened to the Asbury revival on RUclips while cleaning my sister's house, I had a tiny voice inside ask if it was actually legit. I didn't know so I continued to listen. After the video ended, I figured it was good, overall, since it brought so many ppl from near and far. Now I'm listening to Pastor Doug and I'm thinking again on it: was it real, or just another passing fad? I'll keep listening and watching for the REAL THING. Happy Sabbath, everyone.

That makes sense, to ask if it's legit or just a fad. So many people today claim the name of Christ just in passing.
When I see things like this I think of the feeding of the 5,000 by Jesus. He later stated people were following Him after that out of curiosity to see what else He'd do.
Conversion is not based on feelings because feelings come and go. And although everything points to this not being the real thing, only time will tell with 100 percent certainty because one things is to join thousands of people in song at a meeting, another is to turn your life around, forsake your sin and purposely live for Christ every day not only in word, but in deed.

@Christ Jesus. People always thought that the chief on the cross didn't do anything. That is wrong. Let's us see what he did. Publicly, he rebuked the other one, meaning he preached about CHRIST JESUS. Publicly, he confessed that he believed JESUS is The MESSIAH; and publicly, he preached about the kingdom of Glory when JESUS CHRIST will come back to gather all His children. That was a real revival.

I like how Pastor Doug said that even though it was not a biblical revival, "we don't wanna say that God was not in it in some way," (2:03). l would be very careful to completely dismiss the hands of God in something like this. The Devil will always come to smear the works of God, but God is always in control among His children.

I was there. Were you? I'm wondering if you didn't see these things because you weren't there.
1.) There WAS calling to repentance and hours of testimony of repentance. Repentance of homosexuality, pride, ignoring God's word etc. I've seen
2.) There have been many coming to the faith and getting baptized all over the world after seeing it partaking in Asbury and other campuses it spread to.
3.) Specifically saw sexual sins repented of. Specifically saw and heard church leaders repent of not being biblical leaders or areas they were lacking in.
4.) Lots of false teachers showed up to promote their own ministry. Many of them were escorted off the campus. They were not allowed to speak .
5.) This has flowed out to collages and churches all over the nation. Even secular schools. I don't know why you think it has evaporated. All you have to do is a good search.
6.) The emphasis has been on Jesus. The central focus has been on humility and the person of Jesus and the Word. If course you'll have people who feel things in environments like that. If you don't feel anything I'd wonder about you lol.
7.) The biggest resistance has been from within the "church" why would the world have to step in when Satan has the church ripping itself apart from within?
Just my thoughts. It wasn't "perfect" but I was there. I saw with my own eyes and heard with my own ears the real repentance and people being saved. I see people still today, back in their own towns speaking the truth with new boldness and commitment to holiness.
I've also seen smaller scale revivals in families and churches this year since BEFORE Asbury happened. I would take your own advice you gave in the beginning of the video. Be very careful about saying what is or isn't from God. Especially if all you're seeing is clips through social media.

On point. Some of these comments reflect Jesus' concern and admonition to the "very elect," to make sure that they

I was very afraid of looking at this 'revival' with any skepticism out of fear of courting God's Wrath on myself. I found that I could pray for all those that attended that conference that seeds of faith would be planted in their hearts; and that it would lead them to reading their bibles and praying in their normal lives; maybe even forming 'study groups' to really plough through God's Truth's in the Holy Bible. To truly be saved, one has to accept Jesus into their hearts; admit to their sins and then there should be a true longing to pursue a true and daily relationship with the Chief Cornerstone. We saw the letter that was sent to Ephesus in Revelations and what happened there; a crowd can be seemingly be 'on fire' for our Lord; and then the fire just dwindle away. I pray that these young people will stay on fire; and that they continue on their Pilgrim's Progress in a true relationship with our Lord.

If you read carefully in Acts 2:46-47, …with sincere heart, they were praising God.
In Asbury, they’re not merely singing but praising God.
I believe in Heaven we’re no longer reading the scripture but singing praises to the Lord in His presence.
I have seen in video of Asbury how one of them repented.
The opposition maybe not from the authority but probably from the other Christian who are questioning the work of God.

Pastor Doug, I’m glad you addressed this current event, which has received so much attention. Because you are a faithful Minister of God’s Word, I trust your evaluation. Yes, we are drawn by large crowds and the sounds of holy music, but true Revival goes beyond the thrill of the moment. Time will tell.
