This irrefutable thing your claiming is ballony. He is purposely misrepresenting and distorting, to seem convincing. Read Genesis 9 on what Noah is actually instructed about eating. Compare that to Doug. He does this time and again. Acts 10 is also mistreated, besides, Acts 15 clearly states what gentile can and cannot eat. No mention of pig is there. What is there is the realization that the yoke was too much for the jews, and should not be applied to all. God bless you all. I'm a bit sad that Doug is so manipulative. I he can bend truth like that, it isn't pretty.

I agree!! For all who don’t agree with this man remember that God told us what sin is. We serve a God who don’t change. Not think for a second that he told us what sin is then changed his mind. Thank you for this. As a Christian, I have already doubts about eating pork. We used to raise pigs and they are one of the dirtiest animals.

Usually pigs are actually pretty clean my dad raised pigs many years ago they would not poop in their bed they usually kept that clean and dry they will lay in the mud because they have no sweat glands and that’s the way they keep cool.
But I understand keeping their bed clean doesn’t make their meat clean to eat.
yes, pig farms and pigs will even spread disease germs all over the whole countryside , by the wind and handling etc.

When it comes to pork I always think about the demons that asked Jesus to cast them into the swine? I know Jesus would never cast a demon into something clean , so I'm left believing Jesus only grated the request of the demon(unclean) to be cast into swine (unclean) because both were and are unclean. Ever since I stopped eating pork I have not had any sickness/disease/allergies and it is truly a testimony. Now I know personally that eating pork is still a sin. I love God/Jesus and will follow His word to the best of my ability.

1. The “truth” Paul is referring to is the Law of God...Psalm 119:142
2. The meats that have been sanctified by the Word, which means set apart ,Holy, and clean, can be found in Leviticus 11. You can’t have something set apart without something else being unclean.
3. Paul is the most misunderstood Apostle in the New Testament. He’s been made into a minister of Lawlessness which is nothing new. He was misunderstood back then as well which is why Peter gave a warning about Paul’s letters in 2 Peter 3:16.....

That’s not in the original scripture. Read the KJV. Jesus was talking about his disciples not washing their hands before eating. Not clean or unclean foods.

The verse is about eating clean food with unwash hands.
Jewish tradition says eating clean food with unclean hands makes it unclean.

I worked in the meat department of a large grocery chain, mainly behind the counter serving customers. (For much of this time I attended a small SDA church, until my car died and I was unable to afford a replacement) We had strict instructions on storing meat. The beef, lamb, poultry, and pork were each stored in separate areas of the cooler. I had a separate cooler for fish. There were separate processing areas and saws for beef, lamb, and pork. Sometimes when they were cutting pork on the saw, they would hit some disgusting “pus pockets” near the bone. If I hadn’t already been a vegetarian, this would definitely have put me off meat. I had to remove parasites from the fish that I had to process, also. Unfortunately it’s becoming more difficult to find good, clean produce that hasn’t been contaminated by salmonella, etc.
a lot of those fish parasites etc are from the FARMED fish.
None of the fish parasites are pathogenic, meaning they will not make anyone sick.
As one who has owned a grocery store and spent 52 years in the meat cutting industry, I can assure you the same happens in both domesticated and wild animals of all species.
Pigs, vultures, shrimp, etc. are vitally important to the health of our planet. I doesnt mean we should eat them, though.

And to the point. Althow the Old Testament clearly prohibits pork, the New one doesn't. God allowes to eat all kinds of meat, becouse it has been cleansed.
Frankly, I don't know if I can call myself a Christian, but I was raised in a Christian culture and religion, so it's odd for me to hear from a person from another culture what I should do. I hope that I explained it with respect. Have a good day!

I have heard every argument on this subject and the bottom line is, people hear what they want and discard the rest. No scripture gives us permission to eat whatever we choose. One thing about truth is that it is never popular but it is always right!

@@PastorBatchelor pastor Doug, I’m struggling with this question and feels like I almost cannot eat anything. What about food that has unclean meat in it? For example, things like chocolate, chips, gum, cheese on products, marshmallows, jelly, peanut butter, etc. Even things like shampoo or toothpaste contain pork in them. Now I don’t know if they use a lot of pork or not but either way, should we avoid them? It feels like almost everything has pork in it

My dad is in his 50s. He eats bacon-and-eggs for breakfast every morning. He isn't exactly Anna, perfect diet and he doesn't work out all that much. But he took a physical and the doctor said he was one of the healthiest 50-year-olds they've examined. I'm not saying bacon is the healthiest thing. You can eat, but it just seems very flawed to say that it's bad for you. And my dad also says that he's known several 100-year-old throughout his life, and they all tell him to eat bacon for breakfast every morning. Seems like a bit of hogwash to me, pun intended. I agree that Swine is filthy (I am a hog grower as business venture and I went to Vet School for 6 years but I pursued another degree) but I never eat swine uncooked. The problem with these Judaizers is they tend to overlook the Jerusalem Council in Acts and Paul's letter to the Galatians who were quickly deserting God for another Gospel (not that there is another gospel) but a Gospel of Works.

My dear Pastor, if in the past refraining from eating unclean animal meat make us holy and acceptable when we stand before God's throne in prayer, today it is the blood of Jesus Christ that clothe us in righteousness before the throne of God.
If animal blood sacrifice is no longer relevant for our repentance, how then are unclean animals still relevant in the new blood covenant to our standing with God?
Do you truly believe that the true God commanded such atrocities? The bible states repeatedly that the true God do not delight in animal sacrifices for sins.

And the Pharisees heard all these sayings of Yeshua, and observed that he was speaking of them, for they lived according to doctrines of men and of the devil, and not the true law Moses hath given them in the wilderness, they being responsible for the lawlessness of animal sacrifice and flesh eating among Israel.

Scavenger animals such as swine, shrimp, and lobster were not even considered food, so the NT verse about not judging the food a person eats does not mean it is ok to eat non-food (unclean animals). It is referring to animals sacrificed to idols.

The lesson missed in Acts 10 is that the law forbib Jews to associate with Gentiles and the law was no longer applicable. Christ died to REPLACE the old covenant for justification. Eating pork is not a sin. Pastor Doug "forgot" to touch on Romans 14. If we continue to judge ourselves and others by the law then we will be judged according to it.......and nobody could keep the law.
If we say that eating pork is a sin that takes people to Hell then Christ died for nothing. Many churches including SDA keep putting people back under the law as a test of righteousness and holiness. The Galatians were bewitched by these types of things...

I don't think the scripture can be any clearer. If you don't want to eat port because you think its not good for people then FINE. Don't eat it. If you eat among friends who don't eat pork then don't eat if in front of them. Whatever you think of these things.......KEEP IT TO YOURSELF.
We need to return to scripture and stop with doctines of men.

Good job Pastor.Doug! As a Baptist, it took me a while to understand and accept this truth because I thought God told me in Acts chapter 10 and 1 Timoth chapter 4 told me that I could eat pork. But it's important to know that when the apostle Paul said "it was sanctified by the word of God and prayer"(1 Tim 4:5) He was speaking from Leviticus chapter 11 because the new testament was not written yet. The old testament was all they had at that point in time.

Also, while I was reading in Leviticus and Deuteronomy, I noticed lots of other interesting ‘commandments’ that I don’t believe we promote any longer. For example, did you know that when a woman gives birth to a little girl she is not allowed to go to church for over two months? She is considered unclean for that period of time. A little boy is 1 month. Huh?! What do you make of that?

Okay I'm here to explain, and I want you to reply to me afterwards. That verse is from the conversation between Jesus and Pharisees and the teachers of the law. In Matthew 15:2 which states that "Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don't wash their hands before they eat!" So you see, the argument is on the tradition of washing the hands before eating, not on the food. By that time, it is given that the Jews dont eat what God has forbid them to eat, so there's no question in food. In Matthew 15:20 states "These are what make a man unclean, but eating with unwashed hands does not make him unclean", it is clear that Jesus or they were talking about the tradition of washing hands before eating, not on the food.

All animals that come from a slaughterhouse are unclean. They are also abused and unnecessarily killed. In the Bible, they are animals as an allowance in Leviticus right after the flood. You are quite right, Acts 15 may be presented as a text in support of believers being allowed to eat all meats including pork. Romans 14 I believe contains further writings to support your stance, but I believe if one digs a bit deeper, considers context, and the bigger picture, one might come to a different conclusion. Hi Darnell, apologies for the delay. Herewith my understanding. The context of Acts 15 was as follows I believe: whilst Paul & Barnabus were in Antioch, Syria, a group of men from Judah of the Pharasaic sect, who had come to accept Jesus as the Messiah, insisted that in order to be saved, new believers in the early church, needed to be circumcised according to the law of Moses. Paul & Barnabus disagreed with this vehemently. To resolve this matter, the local church in Antioch, sent Paul & Barnabus to Jerusalem, where the matter could be decided by the Early Church Leadership.
After much debate, with Peter’s representation being especially powerful, the Jerusalem Council decided that because God had already accepted Gentiles who had not been circumcised into the faith, see Acts 10 - Peter & Cornelius, circumcision was not a requirement for new believers. With regard to new believers having to keep OTHER aspects of the Mosaic law, as insisted upon by a Pharasaical sect in this meeting, the early church leaders decided to require just 4 things (Acts 15:20) of new believers, viz:
1. to abstain from eating food offered to idols
2. sexual immorality
3. eating the meat of strangled animals
4. consuming blood
By doing this, the church leaders were I believe re-inforcing the pattern of, salvation by faith through grace.
We see this pattern of acceptance in the ‘Old Testament’, where Abraham was considered righteous based on his ‘belief’ (faith). Similarly in the case of the children of Israel, who were DELIVERED (accepted) from Egypt through Moses, ‘baptised’ in the Red Sea, all BEFORE being given the law at Mount Sinai. This is also broadly consistent with modern theology I believe, in that new believers are encouraged to ‘come as you are’ to Christ - He cleans us up! As a friend of mine says, “God loves us just as we are, but He loves us so much, that He won’t leave us as we are.” 🤲🏽
But one might ask, why then did the early church leaders insist on these four items, or any items for that matter? After all, as advocated above, isn’t salvation by faith? Or did the early church leaders, expect that in time, new believers would in time come to keep the Mosaic law? After all, immediately after, their giving of these four requirements, James (Jacob), the Head of the Jerusalem Council, says in Acts 15:21:
“For Moses from generations of old has in every city those who preach him, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”
In other words, in time new believers will learn to keep the Laws of Moses, as they attend synagogue each Sabbath. (And start to keep them not as a root of salvation, but as a fruit of salvation; in other words not to attain salvation, but because of it - out of love in other words / the commandments written on our hearts (Jeremiah 31:33). Is this what James & the Council meant in Acts 15:21 - I believe so...
As an aside, it is interesting to muse why the Council of Jerusalem chose these four items in particular, as opposed to murder or theft for example - seemingly more egregious sins?
Interestingly these four requirements can be found in Leviticus 17 & 18, and are referred to as (being) the ‘heart of the Torah’.
There are different viewpoints as to why these four requirements were decided upon by early church leaders, but the one which I think is correct, is that they all fly in the face of false worship, which at the time involved in their different forms:
1. idolatry of course
2. sexual immorality (temple prostitution)
3. the strangling of animals
4. eating/drinking blood
So although the early church leaders were happy to minimize requirements of entry into God’s church, and seemingly agreeing that salvation is a matter of faith through grace; I feel the leaders of the early church, (let alone God/Jesus Himself I believe), expected new believers to gradually adhere more & more to the ways given to the children of Israel through Moses. (Are we not Israelites ourselves, grafted into the Olive tree which represents Israel - Romans 11?) But again, not as a root of salvation, but as the fruit there-of. Obedience out of love.
As Ps. Batchelor says, why would God not want His new (gentile) followers to benefit from the health laws, including abstaining from the eating of pork, which He had blessed the children of Israel with? Surely He doesn’t love them less - that surely wouldn’t be how a truly loving & caring Father would behave?
See what Isaiah writes in his book chapter, 66:15-17, which I understand deal with the Final Judgement of the wicked in the End-Times:
“Those who sanctify themselves and purify themselves [to go] to the gardens, behind ONE IN THE MIDST, EATING PIG’S FLESH, and the abomination, and the mouse, they shall come to an end together, says Yahweh.”(WEB)
Here I believe (?) God is talking primarily about people coming to an end more for who they worship than what they eat, but for whatever reason, the association between the two is plain to see. And again we find the association of idolatry/false worship and the eating of pork, present in Isaiah 65:2-4. It would appear to me, God’s feeling regarding our not eating pork, described in Leviticus 11:7 has and will not change...
“And the pig, because it parts the hoof and is cloven-footed but does not chew the cud, is unclean to you. You shall not eat any of their flesh, and you shall not touch their carcasses; they are unclean to you.”
And as Ps. Batchelor points out, even in Noah’s day, there was an awareness of what constituted clean versus unclean animals. So this instruction not to eat pork is surely not just for the Jew, as they weren’t even a people then.
Why would a God who never changes, (Micah 3:6, Hebrews 13:8), change His mind on pork? I think the answer is that He hasn’t changed His mind on eating pork, and that the loving response to the love He has demonstrated to us through Jesus Christ, is for us to avoid eating it - again not as a way to salvation - but because of our salvation. Obedience through love. In Jesus’ own words: “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” John 14:15
There are other texts which you could raise in the defense of eating pork, brother Darnell, and you are most welcome to do so, but I believe there will be a way of explaining them, which again reveals our Father’s desire for us to avoid eating pork, and for that matter, all the ‘unclean’ animals listed in Leviticus - again out of love for Him, and because He as our Creator, surely knows what is best/healthiest for us.
And also I believe He - out of our love for Him - would like to see us return to the Ancient Paths (Jeremiah 6:16), most importantly the Seventh-day Sabbath (Saturday), as this points to whom we worship; as well as to His Feasts - which I believe reveal more of His glory through His wonderful plan of salvation, and also which I believe help prepare us for the End Times.

To eat pork, it’s true that is unhealthy but it’s not sin. Those verses from 1 Timothy are so clear. The difference between unhealthy and sin is huge. Don’t play with the conscience of the people
It is sin to oppose GODS word...The Bible unequivocally states that consuming pig is an abomination to GOD....that means sin. (It is our responsibility to keep our bodies healthy so that we may fulfil GODS purpose for our lives).

@re pete Not disagreeing with you but did you watch the video? Pastor Doug never once said eating pig or any other unclean meat is a sin. Rather he strongly and I believe accurately and lovingly pointed out the health risks of eating swine meat (a study showed over 70% of pig meat contains harmful bacteria, increases risk of cancer and shortens life span) and how Jesus, his disciples, and old testament patriarchs all ate only vegetarian or Biblically clean diets.
A strong case he made was in Daniel Ch 1 where they refused to eat Biblically unclean foods and became 10 times wiser and lived longer. This is also well supported today in that one of only five Blue Zones in the entire world are by Seventh Day Adventist who adhere to the Clean Biblical food laws, not because they are “forced” or feel they will “go to hell” if they don’t, but because common sense tells us that it’s best to at healthy and keep the holy temple which is your body as clean and healthy as possible.
Regarding your statement, you’re correct: The laws written by man’s hand (Moses) were done away with at the cross. Jesus fulfilled the old testament ceremonial laws and Christian’s today are living under the new testament of Jesus. The SDA church fully supports this 👍🏼
And to the Pastor’s point, it is Biblically preferred and now medically proven a best practice to live a long and prosperous life by choosing to not poison the body with strong drink or unclean meats (ideally no meats at all for best health results). God bless

The Old Covenant has been abolished. Do you follow all of the unclean practices of the OT? If you have sex in your bed, all the sheets must be washed. If a menstruating woman sits on anything, it must be washed. She is considered unclean during this period. If a man ejaculates, he is unclean just like a leper is unclean.
