I wholeheartedly agree! really excited to explore it. Funnily enough one of the biggest things for me is the updated editor ui in general. It is familiar but there are aspects to it that feel more convenient to me. Excited to delve more into triggers as well. Not to mention the really exciting object manipulation tools briefly shown here and new biome effects.

I love the tall standing poplar trees very righteous looking. very stately! you could really do alot with them! im over the friggen moon for this games release
There are still a few things from the AoE3 DE editor, which itself comes from AoE3 which comes from AoM xD The Advanced transformation tool is fantastic ! Can't wait to spend more time in the editor than normal games 😄
I was worried that the devs wouldn't consider the scenario editor worth including in Retold - very glad to see I was wrong. Making custom maps was one of my favourite parts of the game when I was a kid.
Never played with custom maps way back when, but played a ton of WC3 custom maps; were they/will they be like WC3's? (In terms of what can be done, which is to say anything and everything can be made)
I was glad to hear about Retold, but I didn't dare to get my hopes up. What's the point when it's just going to be in a horrible cartoony style and not one thought spent on the scenario editor. This was such a relief to see! Really looking forwards to this now.
Is there like an options menu for the editor? I was talking someone who has experience using the editor in Age of Empires Online and he mentioned some stuff is possible in the editor there but not in AoM:R. These things include: - Cant use the arrow keys to move while painting terrain. - Cntrol Z doesnt work when moving objects around, just spinning the mouse wheel turns everything youre hovering over instead of needing to select it - Also cannot click on objects multiple times to select them all while in the "move objects mode" Just want to know if these things are possible to change
Hey sorry for slightly off topic comment. I was playing your bomberman map (it's amazing btw) and was wondering if it's technically fesiable to configure grid hotkeys for the custom abilities in Retold? That map would be 11/10 if it was possible to use hotkeys to play.
do you know how to change unit attack like circe that has a different type of attack and also of the other units, in modify proto unit there's no more the option to change the attack
That's unfortunate. AoE3DE did allow old files to be opened in game if placed in the right folder. There were some quirks for things like lighting but they were functional.

Protounit: Modify action. Select lightningattack action. Check out my learn to trigger tutorials as I have explained it there.

Have you been able to open a campaign map in the editor ?
Not yet but when .bar extractors come it should be fairly simple to do.
This looks surprisingly similar to the original. I wonder if there might be a way to import the .scx file type from the original.
Old .scx files are sadly not compatible as it's a completely new game.

@@RafaSheep De3 branch is much closer to aoe3TAD than retold is. Hence you had limited success in porting aoe3 scenarios in de3.
