Artemiev says "h4 isn't the book move here?" and Carlsen replies "I AM the book!"
Oh man so true! XD
😂
For the first time I saw a Firm handshake in chess
You are right
magnus did the same with Aronian.
Bobby Fischer would be proud.
PPL are scared to play him that’s why they give lil handshakes.
It was the other player that did such a forceful handshake. He might have been apprehencive and honored to be up against Magnus.
I think vladislav artemiev has a very bright future ahead of him he has a good attitude towards playing chess and also has a very good etiquette when playing against anyone also he is relaxed kinna guy....
He reminds me of Karpov
I like Artemiev a lot
I agree but like Naka said he has a child now and other priorities so he likely wont be reaching 2800 anytime soon.
Lukd Lacuaeadta true very clever guy
Exactly, he is humble and is a very good sport. It is clear that he looks up to Magnus and he was happy that he was able to play him
Artemiev seems like a very well mannered and a standup guy! He has a bright future ahead of him!
The more I watch these games, the more I realize how bad I am at chess lol
You should not feel bad. These players are extremely talented and have put in tens of thousands of hours to this game.
Have you just started playing? It takes a while to get pretty good at it.
Anyone got ideas how to improve? I play, i see tutorials for strategies and gambits but i forget them, one main thing is that I play online chess, not irl cuz i have limited PPL, that's in school, once a week, not more than that
I also feel so
These guys are the best in the world - that’d be like looking at LeBron James and realising you’re bad at basketball.
I love artemiv. He always have that kind of respect on his opponents.
08:52 In blitz, the conversation must be in blitz mode too. Lol.
Lmaoo
Hey chessbase, tell the camera set up guy to get a higher viewing angle of the board. Can't see what is going on. Thanks
Carslen and Vidit synchronizing at 8:55
0:22 grunfled has a shock 😁
I can't believe I've gotten hooked watching these games when I barely know how to play chess..go figure!
Hey, that's how we all began =)
Dude, I've watched like 50 chess videos in the last 48 hours and have never played, but am addicted to it
That knight in a5 was really misplaced. Can t see the magnus time...
Hahah agreed
Magnus is always looking around making funny faces. It looks like if he's not making a move, he's lost.
Anyone know what is said at the end ?
Artemiev looks like a gladiator while shaking hands if permitted he might even shake the forearm like warriors uses to do in the past lol
That h5 was awesome. If black takes, Nf4 makes h5 a nearly unprotectable target with both the knight and the queen attacking it, and suddenly the kingside is way sharper.
good game by both players, i love artemievs attitude.
Vidit playing in the background, Ian behind this was great
Perfect defense and offense 🤩
08:29 next move by Carlsen was to check mate at Qf7 or Re8+ to capture rook was unhindered so Artemiev resigned. Am I correct? Imho.
I, as a novice, agree
Yeah true
It would be a nice touch if you could include the notation in the description... or maybe even a link to the game in ChessBase.
Y todos en la sala: Waoooo Magnus, ganaste!!!
Guys, where can i buy a chess equipment like this ?
Magnus is soo lucky. Many chess expert said that artemiev is the next garry kaspRov, the best of all, hardest player to beat.
At 8,08 QonC2 could have done it earlier or not?
That is what playing vs your hero feels like..
Artemiev is a great player! He would go on to be in the top 10 someday I hope.
he is in the top 10 by elo
@@purvitpatel7312 Not in Classical
@@jacksonpope3955it's true
In the end, Artemiev seems to say, "you won as soon as you played h6!!"
You're so cringe
chess is cringe
The ad had me hooked
well prepared by magnus
Артемьев красавчик
lil magnus should have mirrored Big Magnus' moves. 😎
can you please add a digital chess board ..it's really difficult to follow games like this ...
Harry needs a push! 😂
Artemiev is such a gentleman.
Can someone explain how and why the time sometimes goes up? I don’t know how to say it, but sometimes it went from 8 sec to 10, then went down and went up again...
Hi some blitz tournaments are played with 5 minutes per player plus an increment of an extra couple of seconds added to a player's clock each time they make a move. That is what's happening here. Other blitz tournaments do not have seconds added to the clock. It's also possible to play two or three minute games with increments added on too.
Sheffield Spiel ohhh that make sens! Thanks ;)
Do they have to announce it like you are about to sit an exam LOL
Yes they do, because it is an exam
0:19-0:21 Magnus bro really fed up with handshaking moment .
Finally A GOOD HANDSHAKE!!!
Can't really see the board but didn't Carlsen could have Checkmate if Qxf7?
nice weapon of magnus
why is there a 2nd queen beside the table?
someone explain pls
So that if your pawn promotes you can promote your pawn to a queen even though you already have a queen on the board. You can have two queens on the board so that you can easily checkmate the King but be careful of stalemate if only the King alone left on the board.Be careful of promoting your pawn.Think first before you promote your pawn because it can leads to stalemate if only the King is alone is left on the board.
What board are they playing with? Looks like it’s plugged in
www.chesshouse.com/products/the-dgt-electronic-chessboard-usb-bluetooth
Why do they hold the prices they take when thinking of a move
Vidit on front board
How is the video longer than on what time they play
The clock adds 2 seconds to their time each move.
I'd love to play Magnus just to see if I could make the game last 30 moves.
Who won the VIDIT's match?
Who won
They are longlost brothers
H4 is surprise for young opponent in bltiz it is very pratical decision
To open up king side and white is ahead in development
I saw Carlsen Magnus VS Carlsen Magnus xd
Chess fan👍👍
Ain't gonna lie, Nepo in the background is looking good.
Ce pion blanc h a l'air de contrarier Artemiev qui prend, à chaque mouvement de ce pion, beaucoup (trop) de temps.
0:37 at the same time! 😷🙂
They look like brothers
Who is win
That's an old Hans Berliner line.
Handshake! !
VIDIT for world champion this time♥️🔥
Was the his secret weapon Artemiev took almost two mins to make a single decision, and later ran out of time...?
Guy with White pieces is pretty strong
LMAO
Wizard of OZ
Dear GMs,
when will I be able to see you all play the GRAND CHESS(10 pieces+100 squares) games???
I've been waiting for so long to see how you all make magical moves with "MARSHALL" & "CARDINAL"
[ MARSHALL = ROOK + KNIGHT
CARDINAL = BISHOP + KNIGHT ]
Note :: I didn't mean CAPABLANCA CHESS which also has 10 pieces but 80 squares on the board.
And also , here,
MARSHALL is known as CHANCELLOR
& CARDINAL as ARCHBISHOP.
I can see another Magnus on the Back Lol
The guy with the manbun? That's world no. 4 Ian Nepomniachtchi.
He and Magnus are good friends, and he was Carlsen's second for the 2014 world championship
@@leadnitrate2194 Thanks for the info
Reason why i always love Russians. Respect Artemiev
we need a digital board
Seeing vidit and carlsen at the same side makes me think of a draw!!!!!
battle of twins :D
I like artemiev. !
have anyone noticed our gujrati start in the game
Main lain is c takes d4 and then qa5 check and kf1 that's better than imediatlly qa5
You should provide your insight to Artemiev, he has probably a lot to learn from you.
Isn't Rb1 followed by cxd4 cxd4 Qa5+ main line?, I think Magnus deviated with h4 and Artimiev didn't want to walk into a prepared World Champ. Can't say I blame him
" main lain " learn English before trying to understand chess openings.
@@gatakamsky9998 you don't know theory your problem
@@peggyzer3646 Absolutely, I'm not a top GM +2750 such as you.
I hate when they don't finish the game because I can't see the future moves like they can! So I never know who won or if it was a draw lol
Kon jita game?
@Ahmed Affan Abbasi pta kese chalta hai ki kon match jita or match bich me kyo chor dete hai
Actually, magnus's opponent resigned, one player can never on its own say that he has win until his opponent has resigned, or mated or lost due to time.
@@happykumarray8638 agar samajh na aaye ki kon resign krta h to, ek chiz note kiya kro-- jab bhi game end ho na, dekho ki kings kis color ke square pr rkhe h, agar dono white pr ho to white jita, agar dono black pr h to black jita and agar dono opposite pr h (matlab white king black squre pe and black king white square pe) to draw hota h
@@devansh4582 Thanks
Magnus with beard vs magnus without beard
They always slow down after h4 😂
True story
Artemiev looks like younger Carlsen.
How does Magnusbalways have extra time 😂😜
Digital chess board please
Just cause you aren't good enough to see the position from the side doesn't mean you get to beg.
@@jacksonpope3955 How is he begging? It was a simple request. There are a lot of new players like myself who aren't experienced enough to see what the position is from this angle.
@@vision3253 That's begging. Just get better at chess and it won't be a problem
*You're right hate Craft. That was a big problem in the tournament broadcast.*

Hate that knight on a5, could not see carlsen's clock till the end
Para nosotros q no sabemos ingles gracias
Do you automatically lose when time runs out?
yes, i think the opponent has to call it
No they don’t need to call it. They win. Unless a checkmate is impossible then it’s a draw
Yes in all chess formats
Thank you all. I honestly had no idea... So it would seem to me that the object is to make moves as quickly as possible without getting check mated, correct? As in, playing until your opponent loses time in this particular format..?
Old Halland vs Young Halland...

black took over a minute to play cxd4. You cannot use half your remaining time on 1 move against a top player.
Indeed. Hence the title

You can see at the end that they both put the king at white squares. It means white won.
Who all noticed that vivid gujrati is playing beside them
I will keep my King..
..buried in the tomb of Tutankhamun.
And will challenge Magnus, Kasparov, Fischer, Karpov and Anand to checkmate me
