Spot and Stalk Mule Deer Hunting

Classic spot and stalk mule deer hunting in southern Wyoming. Mule deer hunting has plenty of highs and lows. We see many deer but blow a few stalks before we harvest a great mule deer buck. Spot and stalk mule deer might be the ultimate game of cat and mouse. Big mule deer bucks however often seem to have a fifth sense. The greatest challenge is finding the right buck in a situation where the terrain and wind is right for a successful stalk. Seems like most stalks end in failure... switching thermals, bumping a doe you didn't see, a piece of sage snapping, the list is endless. A lot of things have to go right to harvest a mature mule deer buck. Luckily, there are some stalks where everything is perfect and those are the stalks the motivate you for the next hunt.
