When your dad speaks I listen 😍😍. I know how much your dad loves Topps cards and I freaking love that !!! I would pay any amount of money to have my dad be a collector of cards. Great episode !!
The videos with your dad are always fun. Speaking of the 1960 set, in 1976 my parents bought me a complete 1960 topps set for my birthday. It was in very nice condition and cost $100.00.
Always enjoy the videos with your Dad!! He has so much wisdom to share with the card community!! You are so very fortunate to be able to enjoy this hobby with your Dad!! Have a Happy Thanksgiving Graig!!
What a great episode. Your dad is great! I want to be targeting cards to add to my collection for my entire life, just like him. And you're right, this hobby is full of great people. You and your dad are a testament to that. Love the channel 👏
What a Thanksgiving treat! Better than pecan pie! Great convo guys! What a blessing to have a dad and son with a shared hobby. Simply amazing guys. Appreciate every moment.
I loved the show. It’s so fun hearing your dad’s point of view after being a long time collector. I love hearing his wise views. He is like a surrogate hobby dad to me. Thanks again. Happy Thanksgiving to you two
One Miller’s opinion is always sufficient…. But two? Priceless. Always love hearing Dad‘s opinions and advice when it pertains to our favorite hobby. Great video. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and lots of success in the soccer tournament.
Graig - great episode! I really enjoy the conversations with your Dad - very cool that you're able to share hobby perspectives. It's fun catching up with you both at the local No CA shows. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Great video Graig. Your Dad and I got a chance to have a really nice conversation at the American Legion Hall. You introduced us then. He may not remember but I certainly do. He’s a great guy and you are lucky to have him. And yes I agree with virtually everything he said about the hobby. My views may differ slightly only because I come from the football angle and he is baseball. And our differences would probably only be do to the difference of what was available from the manufacturer at the time, and popularity between baseball and football collectors. Baseball has always had larger numbers of cards and collectors. Overall this was a great video ! Thanks for your content
I’m a fading dinosaur of a set collector, I guess? Collecting… collectors… was as your dad describes back in 1987 as well. Commons in the trash at most card stores in LA during that era. Luckily I learned my “opening boxes/packs” lessons back in 1988-92. I will crawl into the future, trying to complete my 40’s football sets… my 48-71 Basketball, and any other single cards that strike me as beautiful or interesting. Seems like the instant gratification needs of most people these days handicaps almost everyone? The patience and dedication needed to complete sets is a dying trait. 😢 Oh well!
That’s not my takeaway at all. I think set collecting is great. I think many collectors have gone away from it, but that doesn’t mean that they SHOULD. I’m currently building a set myself….the 1888 Allen and Ginter pirate set.
Hey Miller family! What a nice thanksgiving surprise, hope these become more frequent👍 Hope everyone had a great time with family/friends. Coach I love your new list, I finally got a 53’ Paige few years back. Such a beauty, hope to share with ya guys some time. Next episode maybe a Petty appearance?
Interesting conversation … I still collect sets. But, I’m mostly doing the 50s sets. Just finished the 55 set and working on 56 and 57. So, I guess maybe I’m proof of more people are moving to the 50s golden era. But, my collection runs counter to the trend of player runs.
Make sure Papa Mike doesn't catch wind that there's not 75, but 2,600 Ohtani rookie cards to choose from.... Great to hear the inter-generational card talk here. Cheers!!
Hey Graig, thanks for including my questions for your Dad. I will keep it to one question. This time around. If your Dad, posted videos to his RUclips channel what would be some of the biggest differences and similarities, too, compared to the way of (Graig's channel) l these past 2 years or so?
We still put sets together, not all but there are a few we do each year. I wonder if the amount of different sets by Topps and Fanatics each year makes it hard to do this and plus wax is kinda expensive. Ive found buying lots on ebay helps at a reduced rate. I don’t have any vintage sets but i PC Lew Burdette. Cool to hear from multiple generations
Happy thanksgiving! I think the hobby will always be ''Buy What You Like ". A great example is the bunning card, you wouldnt buy it and your Dad would. Graig would rather have a Spahn card and id rather have a robin roberts.
I enjoyed your conversation with your dad regarding the current state of the hobby. Are today's modern cards Junk Wax Part II? What about manufactured scarcity? The answer to both questions was the same. The absurdity of having 75 different Ohtani Rookie cards (Judge, Trout ,etc as well) trying to figure out which one is the rarest and most valuable, coming to the conclusion that the value of these cards long term "will go way down". Sadly I kind of agree with him. Here's some food for thought... Trading Card Database, as of 12/15/24, lists 29,751 different Ken Griffey Jr. cards. According to Baseball Reference, Trevor McDonald, who made his Major League Debut on 9/29/24, was the 23,370th player in Major League History (going back to 1876, including the recently added Negro Leagues). There are more (different) Ken Griffey Jr. cards then the # of players who ever wore a Major League uniform!
Hey Graig… Please know I’m not saying this to be rude or some kind of jerk. I really like these interviews with your dad, and value his experience, wisdom and insight. But I always have trouble hearing him clearly. Since he has a light voice, is there a way to turn up the mic volume or perhaps seat him closer to the microphone? For the record, you always come across loud and clear. Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving, and thanks for another great video!
Well, you found your man for those 1960 Commons. I have a client that’s only looking for high quality and very well centered versions. Please contact me.
This is so far a great video. It made me wonder if Mike Epstein cards are changing value and if his Senators cards are worth more than his Baltimore cards. 80' and back for me since I started in 1981. Henderson rook is a good starting point. Senators . Nice place to live. 😎
Great show Graig and Mr Miller. People please don't kill me here but why set collect? Why would u want 60% commons? 90 leaf definitely better than 91 leaf. I bought a box of 86 donruss probably 20 or so yrs ago, lots of great cards but very few in 8 or better condition. Thanks fellas have a great holiday season
Some people just like being able to say they completed something. There are sets, that are not large, but others which can be time consuming. I'm all for set collecting it's important however to be mindful of the cost, and if they have the space as well.
Hey Craig! Couple of Q’s. I see boxers of cards for sale priced cheap. Are they usually people wanting to off their collection for cheap. Do you think they do that because they don’t care about the hobby or wasting time trying to sell individually? Also, I have a ton of cards from the lates and early 80s. I know there are quite a few that are worth something, yet people are offering low ball offers? Do you think they do that because they think I didn’t look up the values or is it a common practice to pay nothing for a bunch of cards? Thanks in advance and hope you had a great turkey day!
When your dad speaks I listen 😍😍. I know how much your dad loves Topps cards and I freaking love that !!! I would pay any amount of money to have my dad be a collector of cards. Great episode !!
That DD. Appreciate you, bro.
Great listen as per usual. Coach knows.
Yep. He's like Bo Jackson, only cuter.
Thanks for spending time with your old man. It was a blast!
The videos with your dad are always fun. Speaking of the 1960 set, in 1976 my parents bought me a complete 1960 topps set for my birthday. It was in very nice condition and cost $100.00.
Wow. That's amazing.

Thanks Ken. We always have a blast hanging out.
It's always a treat listening to your dad talk about cards. Great insight. Thanks for including us in this conversation.
I love sharing these conversations with all of you!
I love the episodes with your dad! Please keep them coming. You are so lucky to still have him.
What a great episode. Your dad is great! I want to be targeting cards to add to my collection for my entire life, just like him. And you're right, this hobby is full of great people. You and your dad are a testament to that. Love the channel 👏
Thanks so much. He's a great guy.

I can't believe how behind I got on comments. Just saw this. Sorry!!
I loved the show. It’s so fun hearing your dad’s point of view after being a long time collector. I love hearing his wise views. He is like a surrogate hobby dad to me. Thanks again. Happy Thanksgiving to you two
Thanks Tony. Looking forward to you two hanging out again in Chicago.
Great stuff! There is a logic and succinctness to your dad’s communication that I could listen to all day! 😊
He's a good dude. And he LOVES you.
One Miller’s opinion is always sufficient…. But two? Priceless. Always love hearing Dad‘s opinions and advice when it pertains to our favorite hobby. Great video. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and lots of success in the soccer tournament.
LOL. Thanks Steve. They won the tournament and went 3-0
@ wow! A clean sweep. God bless
Your dad is awesome! Consider yourself blessed!
I do!! He's fantastic.
Excellent conversation guys, really enjoyed hearing the different perspectives from a long-time collector. Coach is great.
Coach is VERY great. Thanks bud.
I enjoyed this episode with you and your father. He shared some great insights.
Thanks. We had fun.
Graig I am definitely a huge fan of your Dad! I would love to be a member of his Fan Club! What a fine gentleman!!!
I'm a huge fan of him, too!!

He talks about that conversation all the time, but he couldn’t remember your name. Now I know who it was!! That’s awesome. He loves you!!

He's my biggest fan, and I'm lucky to have him.
Another great video!!

Awesome interview, thank you for sharing
I love talking cards with my Dad.
Hi Graig. I really enjoyed your father`s perspective and thoughts. Thanks for sharing my friend. Talk soon pal.
Thanks Stephen.

I'm hoping to have him on the channel. We've connected and are planning on it, but need to still setup a day/time.

Good questions. In the past, my dad has expressed his dislike for manufactured scarcity.

I appreciate the feedback. He is soft spoken. So, I’ll try to adjust some settings on his mic moving forward.
@@MidLifeCards Thanks Graig! My rapidly aging ears appreciate it!

My dad went to some Washington Senators games at the RFK Stadium when he was a kid back in the late 1960's.
That Ricky card is iconic.

It's definitely a time value issue. They could make more money, but the time would be huge.
