To me, this is a paladin who embraces the Hero's Journey. All to often you find people on this path who try to deny it. The Glory Paladin, not only embraces it but see their companions on that path as well (why are you doing this with me if not to be a hero?). Played well, they're the inspiration for the group, the one who rally them when all seems lost. He's the one who yells, "Avenger Assemble!" as they take on Thanos. Note: I don't see Captain America as a Glory Paladin, more of the Oath of the Crown (he became Captain America for his country). Difference is Glory would yell it early and often, Crown only the one time.

Works well for a Dragonborn, especially for the Roleplay!

Oh, man. I think an oath of glory paladin with a charlatan background could potentially be a hilarious thing. Maybe multiclass with bard? Hooooboy!

I can see that being a pretty fun multiclass!

Hello there! I know this video is quite old now but I wanted to share my experience of playing a OoG Paladin! First of all, the kit this class comes with is insane... Not only do I get a pool of healing with Lay on Hands but also your Inspiring Smite healing to add on to that. Pair Aura of Alacrity with Mobile and you're suddenly nipping around the battlefield aiding your companions with your powerful buffs, auras and reaction abilities. You deal insane Smite Damage, which only ever gets better with Improved Divine Smite and more potent Spells that stack with your Smite and add different disabling effects to your enemies.
On top of that, you can roleplay this in so many different ways.. You could be like All Might from My Hero Academia, who works tirelessly to rescue the world and inspires hope everywhere to the point where it eventually burns them out, or someone who is actually a bit of a glory seeker and boasts about their exploits in taverns and steals the limelight from their companions who then needs to face themselves in a mirror and ask what is really important to them.

Aura of Alacrity is not the strongest paladin aura but doubling down on it by grabbing Mobile would give you a lot of battlefield mobility. My own build, which I have not yet had a chance to play, involves multiclassing into rogue and picking up Cunning Action. I decided to challenge myself by forgoing Polearm Master which left my bonus action free.
I suppose I could pick up Mobile as well but that feels like overkill and meeting the requirements to multiclass into rogue does leave my ability scores a little thin, I really need to use my ASI's *as* ASI's. What I'm most excited about is using Peerless Athlete and expertise in athletics to grapple enemies and bonus action dash to still move 40 feet while dragging them along. Not only will I be wherever I need to be on the battlefield I will also have the enemy right where I want them, literally.

I'm about to start a Dragonborn Oath of Glory Paladin in a game set in the world of our previous characters.. There was a great war and we were heroes that help save the world. Everyone knows who we are and what we did. And my new characters wants that.. he wants to accomplish great things so one day people will know who he is and tell stories about him. Been listening to songs, "Go the distance", "I'm gonna be somebody", and "On my way" to get in the headspace..

Oath of Glory!!! I’ve been thinking about a Paladin for a future PC build. This one is ranking high up there for me. My catch phrase could be stolen from you...”Welcome to the Burn Zone!”. That divine flame ability sounds amazeballs.
