I have replayed ME Trilogy about 5 times now…. I never skip Elcor ambassadors explaining things to me…they know that they are speaking slowly compared to other races and they don’t want to waste your time… but they are so humbled when you actually want to listen to them.
I think they missed out big time by not letting us have the elcore troops that we acquired for war assets on the ground on Earth I really wanted to see a living tank in action and I am so sad I never get to
But you can, there's a mod that exists that shows a bunch of your war assets fighting on earth, including elcor battle tanks. But yeah bioware def missed out
It is not accurate to say that Thane takes no responsibility for all of his killings. If that were the case then why would he be praying for forgiveness for what he has done. On his deathbed his son even tells Shepard that he has already prayed for the lives he has taken and that the last prayer was for Shepard. Someone who doesn't take responsibility would not pray for forgiveness for the lives they have taken so obviously Thane not only takes responsibility for them but it has actually deeply affected him.
Theres a theory that asari are actually a parasitic race and somehow they create the illusion of a different form, and that each race perceive the asari differently, which is how they procreate with different races. There's a video or 2 out there about it explaining a bit more.
Sayari is literally reincarnation. It is the same belief as in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism. if you don't achieve moksha, you incarnate else if you do, you become one with God. Sikhism has the more literal meaning of ek onkar which means one almighty which further translates as everything and everyone in the universe is one.

Because they created the Geth, and then proceeded to loose control over them so they were shunned by the existing races in the citadel mostly portrayed as beggars or thieves. Probably making them feel unwelcome and uncomfortable to stay.
I love the Salarians. Their high metabolism gives them a shorter life but they seem to do more in their short lives than any other race in the series. It's constant advancement and study to better, not just themselves, but their whole society in general. They don't live long, but they live more. They appreciate time, unlike the Asari to which time almost seems meaningless.
In regards to the volus, their reliability on the turians isn't really an "alliance". The volus voluntarily had themselves absorbed into the turian Hierarchy, offering their skills in mercantilism for turian military protection. The Hierarchy is based heavily on Rome, meaning the volus are technically "lesser" citizens in turian society. Also, funny note about the turians. The turian term "barefaced" a turian that lacks colonial facial markings, is used to refer to a turian as one not to be trusted, or a beguiling individual. Prominent antagonist turians like Saren, or Warden Kuril are "barefaced". It's also used as slang for politicians.
To be honest, the turians aren't exactly like the romans, they are militaristic and all, but they aren't psychos, culturally speaking they are militaristic, but they aren't completely supremacists, they adopted the volus because they were useful, but they also respect the salarians, and asari, in fact i think they respect even more humans, just by the fact that we were bold enough to make a war against them without we even had encounter another race. I just imagine when everything was clarified and the turians realized the mistake, they must have tought, "they are noobs? WTF???"

I’ve always thought that, that’s also a reason I think the one Turian counselor was hostile to Shepard at first he reminded him too much of himself, humans were just as stubborn as them and asked since it was two bowls locking horns for dominance, however once the reaper invasion hit they had nothing but respect for us as brothers and sisters in arms

I know the Volus where annoyed at not being on the council, I believe it's been to their benefit. Being impartial to the council has kept corrupt council reps from getting into it all
The problem with the Volus is their culture is constantly changing with houses being destroyed and absorbed. Thats not a race capable of standing on the council as your demands will be ever shifting instead of a largely consistent doctrine.
You forgot to mention that council Spectre were model on STG. Kirrahe mentioned it because of how physically weak Salarians are and logically would resort to infiltration subterfuge just like humanity and their military doctrine
When speaking of the Asari instead of saying centuries, it would be more accurate and paint a better image if you were to say millennia. After all, the Asari found the Citadel over 2000 years ago in the lore. Saying centuries doesn't really convey over 2000 years.
In the next mass effect they should gave us the Dragon Age approach and let us play with the other races, at least the Big 5 (Turian, Asari, Krogan, Salari and Quarian)
I've been into ME since it's original game so I've had well over a decade to think over what I like best in the story and games, I've legit got thousands of hours logged in 2 and 3, hundreds of hours of each class actually. My favorite class has gotta be adept, though vanguard and engineer are close (and my favorite in part 2 is arguably the infiltrator, I think you all know why), the adept is my favorite across all 3 games. I just absolutely LOVE biotics. My only real gripe about the series in regards to biotics is that imo we should have had more options about boosting our biotic powers and the class we picked should have had more influence on the story. Like I remember different parts of conversations with Jack, Liara, Kaiden, Samara, Jacob, Miranda, and etc; where they would talk about their biotics or the biotics of others as if they were so overwhelmingly powerful or useful, when like 2 hours ago my Adept/Vanguard shep was just ripping apart time and space itself with Novas, Shockwaves, Flares, Mind controlling Reaper Hulks, and dishing out Slams with 1200+ newtons of force and barely breaking a sweat while doing it. I understand that if I'm a soldier or engineer that all the crew biotics are humongous assets in battle, actually they just are regardless, but come on! If I'm singlehandedly throwing around enough biotic power that I could likely topple a Reaper Dreadnaught solo if I had a few minutes to charge up? I should get at least a "Holy crap Shep, nobody told me you had insane biotics!" Rambling aside, the Asari are probably my favorite Citadel race just because of the biotics, their huge lifespans, and their unique military structure (plus the Justicars), second choice is the Salarians because they make mostly decisions that I would make and I love their tech.
