    Definitely tonkotsu. I love how rich and flavorful it is. It's very filling but it's so complex and it has so much umami flavor that I put it above every other flavor.

    My current favorite during the winter is tonkotsu ramen. The rest of the year, a good shoyu can't be beat. Especially when the soup has a good balance of pork or chicken bones and niboshi, and the tare is rich... love it.
    Curry ramen will also hold a special place in my heart since that's what I always got at Chanpon-tei in Hikone.

    One of my all time favorite memories as an 11 year old, visiting my obaa-chan in Yokohama many many many years ago..... was the home delivery of hot bowls of ramen on the backs of motor scooters. Then when your finished, you simply put the bowls outside the front door, and the restaurant picks them up the next morning. Do they still do that in Japan? I have fond memories of that and the Yaki-imo man.

    • @TabiEats
      @TabiEats  7 лет назад +1

      +Mindy's Mom we still have the yaki imo man during autumn to early spring when it's cold. Ramen delivery from the local restaurants are few in tokyo now. I kind of miss them. I'm sure they still have them around in some places though.

    I tried only the 4 types of ramen: shoyu(soy-sauce), miso(soybean paste), shio(salt), and tonkotsu(pork bone).
    I would say miso is my favorite since I'm a vegetable person! And I love thick, heavy, and rich broths.
    shoyu and shio are great too! Though I prefer shoyu over shio because it is thicker and richer than shio.
    tonkotsu has this weird flavor that doesn't really appeal much to me, but it's okay. I'm not that much into meat, to be honest.

    I can't agree with this video.
    because i think you got mistake about no.5 Paitan-ramen, this introduction may be wrong.
    "paitan【白湯】" just means "cloudy soup". in contradistinction to, of course we call "transpicuous soup" "chintan【清湯】".
    Then All kinds of ramen has two style ; paitan and chintan soup.
    Both paitan and chintan styled Tonkotsu-ramen exist. also Shouyu paitan exist and Shouyu chintan exist.
    in Japan, Shouyu-ramen is served with usually chintan style, Tonkotsu with paitan style, Shio with chintan style. as usual...so...for example, people feel happy if they find delicious Shio-ramen styled paitan...
    Recently, just before, "Chicken paitan styled ramen【鶏白湯】" has appeared in Japan. so I guess you chosed no.5 Paitan-ramen for this video...?
    I believe that the most famous kinds of ramen....
    No.1 shouyu No.2 tonkotsu No.3 shio No.4 miso
    .....ok, No.5 chicken paitan ramen "鶏白湯" (means paitan styled ramen based shio using only chicken bone for soup stock .......actually, everything inside except chicken bone....)
    i live in Japan and deeply love ramen. i just wanna tell you my opinion. good luck.
    I love the best tonkotsu paitan styled ramen. i believe the ramen king is tonkotsu!!!

    • @TabiEats

      +Nandi Thaib if you don't eat Pork, the safest would be the shio ( salt) as the others sometimes are made with Porn. But you can find shoyu and miso made with pork. You just have to ask or know. There are Ramen with fish broth too but those are more difficult to find. I hope this helps

  • @MegaFlowers123

    Tonkotsu!

  • @rioardila
    @rioardila Год назад

    I'm confused, because you have the soup base that can be chicken chintan, chicken paitan or tonkotsu (among others) and then you have the tare (sauce) which can be shoyu, shio or miso (among others). Then, each ramen is a combination of the soup base and the sauce. So you can have a chicken chintan of soy sauce for example, or chicken paitan of shio sauce. I wonder how many types of soups or sauces exist..🤤
