Man, this review is an absolute service to the community. Crazy high production quality - angles, editing, lighting. Weird to say, but for a racket review, this has so much rewatchability lmao. Not only that, but your commentary and review has come along so far since the earlier ones. Clear, coherent, and loads of technicality and knowledge. I can see new players watching this and it really inspiring them to progress in the sport. Please never lose the passion you have for what you're doing, it's definitely appreciated

I play badminton for fun and fitness. My all time favourite has been 88D so far. My second racket 88D Pro broke recently and I was in a big dilemma about which one to pick. Then I came across this review and decided to go for it. I played with it for two days and felt like your review is absolutely on point. This is my first RUclips comment ever because I wanted to appreciate your effort and thank you. This racket has given me the best control and it's quite well rounded in its performance. Though 88D is definitely more powerful when it comes to smashing (but not by much and 100 ZZ is definitely better than 88D pro), this racket wins in all other departments. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much, really means a lot, a lot of people don’t understand the concept that a racket isn’t produced bespoke for them and the ignorance from them is that they don’t understand that if they/me don’t like a racket, it doesn’t mean it’s a bad racket, hence why in my reviews I always try to direct the right players to rackets that will suit them, and plus I never just just say a racket is an upgrade just because it is new

Goes to show high tensions with thin strings like the pros won't give you the best plability

Many people have these misconception regarding badminton rackets.
    1) I can just buy a top end badminton racket and automatically play like LinDan or LCW....no, badminton is a lot more than racket. Your fundamentals, practices, footwork, form, focus and experience is many times more important.
    2) more expensive racket means a better racket.....no, the best racket for you really depend on your play style and experience. Using a ZF2 as an intermediate is really really difficult. You could use a cheaper racket that suits your style and really perform better.
    3) Many people Believe that if you use a better racket you can smash better. Tbh badminton is not all about smash. So many times I have seen people tell me ohhh this racket smashes very good....but if you really play with a very very good player, you usually could hardly one smash kill your opponent, especially in double. Smashing is about your technique. Racket and string is only a minor part. Games isn’t all about smash. It is also about footwork, control, pace, understanding, experience and most importantly good focus.
    I am from Malaysia 🇲🇾
And many top state players in Malaysia don’t even use top end rackets. 🏸

In the past few years I had been using ZF2. I found it a bit too heavy for defense and net shots. Changed to Z strike, slightly better, but the shaft is too stiff for control. I got my 100zz this year, great balance between defense and smash. I have used it only ever since. My fav racket so far in the yonex head heavy range.

This racket have a different feel to it but a bit hard to explain. I was using my Astrox99 4u as my main racket til its string broke about a week ago in a middle of a club tournament. I had my 100zz as back up so i was forced to use it for the first time. I can say the 99 has a bit more power but this 100zz is definitely amazing as well.had a bit of adjustment to its feel but once u get it, you will be amazed. A must buy.🙂

Hey Ken, first off want to commend you on an excellent video! Neatly explained, very thorough in your explanations, clean edit and cinematography :)
I do have a question however, and oddly enough it isn't directly related to the topic of this video... but at 11:11, you mentioned that the 99 and 88 (D presumably) remain the kings of power among the rackets produced by Yonex. Out of curiosity, what do you think the comparison between the 99/88D vs the ZF2 would be in terms of raw power? I personally own a ZF2 and various other rackets albeit none of my other rackets from the astrox series, and I feel the ZF2 is one of the most powerful rackets I've ever used. Since you own both, which of the rackets do you think is more powerful?

Very nice review videos! I'm looking at getting a new racket and I'm doubting between the 100ZZ and the 88D 4U (All Astroxes come in 4U only here). I've been playing with a 3U arcsaber 11 (changed from Voltric because I wanted a bit more speed in defence) for years. Now I would like to return to a slightly more headheavy racket. So my question is would a 4U astrox be able to give a bit more power than my 3U arcsaber? And more importantly how much stiffer is the 100ZZ compared to the 88D and arcsaber 11? Would the 100zz be more difficult to play with because of its 'extra stiff' shaft?

I tested the 100ZZ and in my opinion it is one of the most forgiving rackets und really easy to play with. It is just a beauty to play with and it feels very good. However, the only thing i disliked is the G5 grip. It’s to small for me.
Fun fact: my tennis arm just disappeared in the time i played with it and i never had any issues with it.

88D is more focused on power and the ZZ feels like stability is more focused. If there's any difference in power, it doesn't feel like it was noticeable but the stiffness of the ZZ makes it feel very stable. Could be the solid core shaft.

Hi Ken, big fan for your content. I tested demoed the Astrox 100zz in Perth and from my personal opinion, I agree that the smashes are super solid, but I feel as though although advertised as a hyper stiff shaft, like you mentioned there is a whip action. To my understanding it feels flexible because of this. I also feel its flexible especially when doing drives? It feels somewhat sluggish on the recovery. Sweet spot feels narrower possibly because the head has been slimmed down, but that smash power is incredible. Do you agree on any of the negatives that I commented on, just curious cuz I wanna be sure that maybe there was some variation between each demo model...

hi, by testing a lot of racquets and different parameters in 6 years, i can definitely say than 4u is not for me. even if you have more maniability, i prefer to have a good backcourt option for heavy attack, 3u and even balance is still the best for men doubles. and a good old hammer type of racquet is good for singles, i know a lot of better player than me who play with light raquets in single and it's quite ugly to see. they lack of that snap which can change everything and they struggeling to take their opponents by surprise even if they have a good technic and trickshots... so, even if i lose against this type of good players, i feel like i have the upper hand on almost all the rallies where i'm able to be very aggressive, i'm losing because of my stamina basically (1m60 for 57kg)... all that to ask one thing, could you test the 3u version of this please ??? ^^

    Personal xp-
Highly stiff and head heavy - caused shoulder pain, a sentiment mirrored by many other players
The compact frame makes it less forgiving - many frame hits when playing intense doubles
    Great content on channel!

Is it me or did Ken’s production team intentionally include lots of orange and navy blue tones in the intro to demonstrate the 100zz’s colours?

    1. Is this racket more head heavy than the 88D?
    2. Is this more friendly to use than the 99?

Poison Cobra already Considering to buy one. I love the 88D but this racket probably will be a little too stiff for me but i will try it before actually consider getting one. If the astrox 100 zx is not as stiff i may opp for that instead
