Just got it last week for €100 (and spend some more for stringing). Played it once and instantly fall in love with this racket... Very fast to play with easily accessible power. The solid feel and the precision is top notch. Definitely a substantial upgrade compared to my 88d game.
True. Each person's on-court performance is down to many different factors such as mental strength, physical fitness, consistency, accuracy, shot power, footwork efficiency etc. For the factors like consistency, accuracy and shot power where they directly are affected by the racket you use, a key focus is finding a racket that suits the individual player the best and allows them to perform to their best ability. A racket is not everything, but it certainly is a big part!
@@KenKarsaputra I agree. I have seen so many people telling me that if they got a better racket they can smash better. Or they can play better. After many years of experience I can really say....no. Your form, footwork (especially in single), focus, practices and experiences makes up a big part of the game. What is the use of having an OP racket if you can’t even reach the shuttle in time? I’m from Malaysia
@@KenKarsaputra people also forget that a more powerful smash means there is a higher chance your opponent can trap you with a counter. A good player knows how to ‘borrow strength’ from a smash. Many times I would see an advance player simply using drops to completely demolish another player.
@@lohxinkai3427 I think if you are small it is better to play with a little heavy I mean 85 lbs rackets. It will develop muscle strength and after some time if you changed to a better racket it will be really simple to adapt to any racket and your game will also improve significantly
Haha no, not over lockdown, naturally i became more unfit from the lack of activity then, but my return to badminton has been full of intense games (which I thought really helped with getting fit again)!
This is bcuz a badminton shop in my country sales them both at the same price but the 100zx has been sold out so i want to know if the 100tour is the same racket
Are you sure your product is genuine? Normally, the frame shouldn't deform significantly (more than 2.5mm) in length or width when given normal stringing tensions and strung using proper technique. You can check with your stringer whether they really strung it at 24x26, and if they strung it properly. We can narrow down the answer to two: it's either not genuine, or your stringer strung the cross strings at too high a tension or with improper technique. I personally have both my rackets (Astrox 88d pro) strung at 26x28, and it has negligible (almost 0) deformation when strung with the 2 lbs increased cross tension. It's a year late, but hope this still helps.
The deformation usually happens when your stringer does not pull and tension the strings one by one, but rather threads them through the racket, and then pulls multiple (all mains in one pull, and all crosses in one pull). This is a technically incorrect stringing method and is not advised by Yonex, but many stringers do this to save time when stringing large amounts of rackets. This has happened to me a couple of times, and I have had to avoid the stringer closest to me due to this problem. The incorrect stringing method can deform genuine Yonex rackets, so that might be the cause of your problem. Hope this helps.
It was the racket. It's a defected unit. Yonex replaced it with another. The stringing method is correct, he did infront of while wait there. Thank you for response. Appreciate it.
99 and 100 zx are both singles rackets, 99 has a stiff shaft, so go for 4u, and 100 zx has flexible shaft, even thought it says extra stiff, and I can confirm it because I have it. 100 zx, go for 3u. 99 is for dominating power, but lack of defense, and 100 zx is good for control and slight less power than the 99.
Also one of the most durable and useful metals out there, Yonex typically infuses tungsten into their racket build material rather than having pure solid tungsten, to reduce weight but give more solid-punch behind each shot.
@@yanz_77 aside from the wooden part of the grip it wouldn't be harmful to put it under water, and unless you're using a towel grip i dont think it affects that much
wouldn't do much, the strings might get a little softer as it is woven and it expands from the water then it dries out (so in this case I get the racket restrung after shooting the clips), the grip would also be better off changed and the wood underneath to be left to dry a little, but the actual racket itself is not harmed at all

Been waiting for your vids ken! Love your reviews 👍🏻
no more Astrox 100 ZX, now it’s Astrox 100 Tour
Improved your vertical during the lockdown i see
Haha no, not over lockdown, naturally i became more unfit from the lack of activity then, but my return to badminton has been full of intense games (which I thought really helped with getting fit again)!
In India, both the rackets have similar pricing though.
But zz have a significant difference. I have played with both but I think zz perfects my playing style that might be the reason
@@greybo4034 I prefer the Duora Z Strike though ✌️
@@greybo4034 Hi guys, I am more of a doubles backcourt and smashing player. Sometimes singles. Should I buy 88d pro or 100zz kurenai?
88d pro is better for doubles because it has speed and power, more power than the 100 zz and the same speed as the zz, so go for the 88d pro
I was waiting for this I have used duo z strike and 100 zx i find duo z strike suits me the best
Your smashes are scarier than the monster from Devour.
About time!
which one do u prefer between 88d pro and 100zz
I am also confused between these two
100zz requires more power to play especially for 3u versions the shaft for the 100zz is really stiff
m
88d pro is for doubles, 100 zz is better for a control player, can be used in both.
@@frostraider8280 100zx tkhawk 88dtour for sigle which better?
what do you think are the major diferences in feel between the astrox ZZ and the Z-strike ? and which would be more suitable for doubles ?
Bro you came after a long time make some vedios continuing the vedios love your explanation 👏🙌👌
Is this racket preferred over the 88D Pro ?
Can I ask you a question. What is the difference between Astrox 88d pro and astrox 88d game? Ps LOVE YOUR CONTENT!❤️
A hot question at the moment! I have tried the racket and have yet to put out a review on it some time soon! Thanks for your support :)
Okey! Thanks!!❤️
Stiffer and head-heavier.
Hi Ken great content as usual. Is the zx head heavier than the zz. Which round be better the 3u or 4u. I know you normally prefer the 3u astrox.
He prefers 4u since he is more of a doubles player
Yes head heavier than zz
Astrox 88 S/D Pro next ???
For sure
I don't feel like this one is faster than 88s.
This racket is the same with the 100 tour but just with a colour difference right?
This is bcuz a badminton shop in my country sales them both at the same price but the 100zx has been sold out so i want to know if the 100tour is the same racket
Yeah pretty much the 3u version of the 100 Tour is similar to ZX. But then their’s also 100 game
Yessss ypu make ittt
What do you think of the new 2021 colour scheme for the Astrox 100ZZ?
Original blue looks much better imo

Can you do a review on the Astrox 100zz kurenai.(and the review for Astrox 77)

is it harmful to put the racket over the water?
Bruh why would it be harmful
@@sakuhsenpai1997 perhaps the string, grip (and the wood part), or grommet will be affected

which racket will you recommend between Yonex Astrox 100 zz vs Yonex Astrox 88D Pro?
100zz all the way its good for both doubles and singles
Intermediate or Doubles - 88D Pro
Advanced - 100 ZZ
My question is if there is anything the zx does better than the zz?
The zx generates power more easily than the zz
Slightly less stiff = more power
100zz’s still the best though. Time for a 100zz Kurenai review?
theyre the same thing
