He's asked to play guitar and sing, and he says he's not really prepared--PAUL MCCARTNEY--who has been doing just that his whole life, is not prepared enough in his mind. It shows you the level of his professionalism and desire to give the maximum to his audience. Each time Parkinson compliments him, he smiles shyly, looking away a bit--after all these years, still so humble, still so down to earth. You've got to love that man!
@@rtotalminer1816 You nailed it. As a musician, you realize you're always in the middle. There's always someone way better than you, and someone who's got so much they can learn from you. I think that's what's kept Paul McCartney humble, is he sees that in life too. No matter how high you rise, no matter what you accomplish, in reality you're still right in the middle.
English interviewers are typically so much better than American interviewers. No fluff or garbage. Just good reasonable conversation. I appreciate it very much.
At some point the U.K. wasn’t as ‘owned’ as the US but since effing haloween and McDonald’s came sailing over here , things have steadily got worse.. the U.K. is simply USA annexe now…
Mr Parkinson is one of the top interviewers if not the best on TV pity we all get old and have to go off and sell insurance for the elderly well I haven't I sell them clothes and scarves, but then I've got a shop in Durham
Depends who the interviewer is. That's why the bee gees walked out of Clive anderson show. The world has lost a true professional in michael parkinson. Rip ❤

Paul being so moved at the end by Parky’s comment on his music being whistled in a thousand years 💕 I’ve watched a lot of interviews with Paul and I’ve not seen that. Beautiful ❤️
Forever and ever, people will be singing and whistling your songs in a thousand years time. Man, you can truly see in Paul's eyes that he was moved by that statement!
Paul McCartney is the cream of the crop as a songwriter and performer! I've had the great fortune of seeing him live twice in my life. First time was with the Beatles on Aug 28, 1966 at Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles (the evening BEFORE their last show at Candlestick Park, San Francisco). I still have my ticket stub. I have EVERY album and I became a semi professional musician largely because of the musicianship of the Beatles and learning how to sing good harmony by picking out each of their parts. I saw Wings in 1990 and was floored at how much he loves to please the audience and gave us a great show with his massively powerful vocals. He has the power when he wants it and learned to scream from little Richard. I LOVE PAUL ♥
