Nobody may care or read this but I made about 100k in sales at 16 and I only started my brand in early June. I never had any experience running a brand before this is my first time. With the right product, and good marketing, you can really make your brand go big. I didn't pay a single dollar towards ads or influencer marketing. I did it all on my own in only a month. You guys can do it! Just trust in God because he is the only reason why I made so much in so little time.

im 31 and its so funny you mentioned every fashion trend since i was a kid from the oakleys, to the uggs, and gucci! I was honestly surprised you didnt bring up Ed Hardy, Polo, and True Religion!!! ive loved fashion since i was a kid but never had the money to ever buy any of it, so i would draw mock-ups all day in school from jeans, shirts, hats, etc. After highschool ended instead of following my dreams I got a normal 9-5 because to family and friends at the time telling me its not realistic. for the last 10+ years ive seen every mock-up i did as a kid come to life and when I do I think to myself "what if" and now me being 31 I still think about it... while i love this video and you being so straight forward, I admire that! so happy i found this video, ive had a brand for around a month that just cracked ~2.2K in revenue with a thousand followers in the first month and felt inspired to keep going, but this advice was gold.
i realized i should keep pushing because much like you, ive been a grailed seller for 8+ years, ive been on those old carti/rocky fashion waves, i used to love myself some supreme, thrasher, ricks etc.
made me realize that someone successful sees it how i see it and not like these clothing brand “gurus” on youtube who just wrap their trackhawk and tell us to hop on one on one calls with them, this is real ass advice. thank you dawg.

I'd only recommend starting a clothing brand in 2024 if you have an intense passion for something and want to build a community around it. Ex: Gym, Surfing, Fishing, Riding Motorcycles, bird-watching Lol. The more niche it is the better. The world DOES NOT need another hellstar.

people dont realize that clothing brands that are outside of streetwear often lose money and just do it out of love for fashion. Designing graphic tees and bs hoodies isn't a fashion thing, its just a quick cash grab. Martine Rose once did a collection with only 1 look cause she was broke, then she later helped demna with reviving balenciaga into what it is now, It all comes down to the intention of the clothes and authenticity.

First of all, great video, mate! Speaking from personal experience (you will relate i think), when starting a clothing brand, it's essential to truly fall in love with fashion and everything that comes with it. It's not about the money; it's about the creative process. Secondly, you need to be tenacious. You'll likely stumble along the way, multple times, and that's completely normal. Failure is a human experience, but the key is to learn from it and keep creating. In the end, while money is nice, the feeling of seeing someone else wearing your creation is priceless. Follow your passion, trust your vision, and you'll achieve success.

I’m a UI/UX/graphic designer, I thought about doing some cool things, not just a logo on a t-shirt ofc, that’s not realistic for a new brand, but still keeping it minimalistic, also had ce this idea of sharing the meaning behind each piece (it’s story) making the perceived value higher

Clothing is a universal need. And people have way to many clothes and pay way too much for them. Its a very profitable niche, thats why you see these drops making so much money. Theres the best manufacturers producing these premium hoodies for $20. Many of the brands resell it for 80+. If your CAC is 15-20 you still have $40 profit per product. Now if you launch a collection of 5 products you have an AOV of 100 , it can definitely add up. Invest in branding and story behind your values, people will appreciate your brand.

@@DaveNash what does that have to do with it being over complicated or not? It's literally what is expected of making clothes. If you think starting any brand is about just doing one thing without doing all the other logistics then you're just a idiot who didn't research. Again as long as you know what needs done, it's really not that complicated. It applies for youtube, streaming, sports, anything that involves being your own boss.

In my eyes if wealth is the number one priority for something like a clothing brand, its extremely unlikely you'll succeed. This is a business based on art, True artists don't see what they do as a job, but as a blessing in and of itself. I haven't seen much money, but I'm in love with this process. I love building the foundation of the brand, the meaning of it, the reason for it. What it can do for others and how I can use it to give back to my community.
I'm not stressing about the money right now because I know I'm building something of value, I'm in love with doing it. And I know my quality and designs have value and substance behind it.

I was getting little to no views on tiktok etc and I had no job at the time. I wanna get into details but basically I will be starting it up again this year (it depends if my apartment is ready and filled with what I need) and I was just wondering if you could give me little tips on what to do for each month and before I open my business. (Im a made to order brand, and I also sell accessories) and how do I approach too? Everyone is saying to pay for someone to do it for me but Im not sure how much they charge and I’d rather learn myself vs paying for someone when I dont have the money for it now. Thank you in advance!

First off appreciate you for watching and taking the time to leave a question!
I would suggest for you to really hone in on product. If no one is buying and tiktoks / reels arent getting views it could potentially mean that your product isnt desirable. Remember, just because you can make it does t mean someone will buy it.

abercrombie & fitch hired some elite level C-suite to revamp the brand and it worked out so well. I would actually shop there now. the website looks amazing.
