  • This was an extreme case, the crankcase had three gallons of water/oil mix when I started. #cheapfix #temporarysolutions #bluedevil #headgasketrepair

I done mine with no thermostat for 50 minutes idling. Still kicking, pulling a heavy trailer and normal driving over 5000 miles ago.

I tried blue devil pour and go at first and didn’t take thermostat out. I folled directions and let it sit for 50 mins but little did I know my heater core was clogged up and that’s why I wasn’t getting any heat in the cabin. So since I wasn’t getting proper coolant circulation in my system I drained it and then the next day my gasket tester kit came in the mail so I done a head gasket chemical test on it and the liquid turned green from blue. The kit works like this… You pour the blue chemical in the flask and put it in your radiator opening. then you squeeze the bulb and if the blue liquid turns yellow then you have a blown head gasket. Since my liquid turned green that told me that I have a small leak in the head gasket even after
The 1st batch of pour and go blue devil. So I replaced my heater core and got my heat working and coolant flowing good then I bought the non pour and go bottle and took my thermostat out and followed the instructions carefully. Let it cool down and drained the blue devil and refilled with coolant and the used my gasket tester kit again to see if it turned green again and was very impressed with blue devil! My tester liquid was as blue as it was when it came out of the bottle!!
So very impressed and as far as I can tell there is no damage to my car system and boy does it feel good to have my heat back at the start of this winter!!

I used that on a old CAT diesel we were trying to get through a season with it definitely worked. Head gasket was leaking bad enough every morning I drained gallon of water out of oil pan and blue devil sealed it up.

It definitely surprised me the first time I used it.

It worked good on my 12 valve for a couple months before it blew again. Good for temporary but not good for long term in my opinion

Oh no doubt it’s temporary but it’s a good option for someone that needs a few more miles to get them paychecks

@Derek McDaniel I actually just finished up the headgasket repair today, and let me tell you, I was pretty impressed with how hard the stuff actually was on the block deck. A similar consistency to jb weld. It was a pain to get off, but like you said, you bought me time for a few more paychecks

I can not recommend ANY type of stop leak/sealant in ANY system! They are temporary fixes at best! Ever pulled intakes and heads off, even a couple of months, after someone used these products? All kinds of water ports are 100% plugged off, great way to cause more issues!

Did you really run it for 50 mins with no oil?

I just did this but with a different BD headgasket sealant. it didn't say to start thr vehicle and pour 🤷🏽‍♂️ so I just poured it first then turned it on. I'm just waiting 15min from letting it cool. should I drive it after it cools?

I did the same and it ended up fixing my leak still to this day, just don’t pour it in and let it sit 😂

I used that blue devil and it did not work but cause my thermostat and radiator to plug up. Had to flush block, heater core and replace the brand new radiator.

You were supposed to take therm out that’s why. Once that clogged everything else did

The blue devil pour and go says no thermostat removal required. You should see what it also did to a brand new radiator.

The pour n go is for SMALL fixes. The big yellow bottle is more concentrated and you take therm out
