I’ve heard a theory that Ellie, after sparing Abby and letting her go at the last moment, went back to Jacksonville and reconciled with Dina; the reason being Ellie wasn’t wearing Dina’s bracelet in her search for Abby, but she was in the final scene where she returned to the farmhouse. And that her returning to the farmhouse was not so much her returning from Abby only to find her home abandoned, so much as it was her taking one last trip to the farmhouse to more or less say goodbye to Joel before going back to Jackson and moving on. I don’t know if said theory is true, but I won’t lie that I hope it is.
Where did you hear that theory from a RUclips channel named trace explores TLOU2 ? That Creater makes good videos about decoding TLOU2 a lot. I too believe in this theory seeing the environment Neil Druckman has made in the prologue which is not too under the nose to decode/understand easily by everyone as that's his style.
