Knowing how many hours you already spend producing the content for your channel… that you would go to such lengths on finding a solution to the audio issue in such a unique but period-correct way is a whole other level of excellence. Thank you, Sarah. 👍👍👍
Sarah. I watch every video you produce because you are a credible source of information, you are charming and enthusiastic, and, frankly, you are a breath of fresh air without the incessant sponsorships that other content providers feel is necessary. I’d love to help rally the Sarah-n-Tuned community to get your viewership numbers up to the critical number of views you need for each video so that you can continue to produce such outstanding content. Your tireless efforts are greatly appreciated.
Just so you know, I enjoyed watching the suspension video. Not sure why more folks didn't watch it. The way you went above and beyond on the audio in this video? Pure Sarah -n- Tuned! Thank you for staying true to who you are, Sarah!
The car in general is lower than average on views for me. Might just be the car itself appeals to a smaller audience, because the watch duration is 30% higher than average on RUclips.
As someone totally addicted, who use to watch each episode at least two times and offen three, I find it hard to grasp how anyone who is a subscriber would choose not to watch an episode (in this case the suspension work) - this build is epic, I can see enough of it. Ah, so satisfying to get all the 40+ year old dirt and grime out of the interior. As always, what is above and beyond for most of us is business as usual for you. That's why I love this channel - Thank you for what you do and Stay Awesome!
I don't usually comment on videos but your car build series are incredible, the 80s theme music is awesome and your attention to detail is on point. You deserve way more subs!!!
Brilliant choice on the stereo & not surprisingly the build quality on this 80s car is better then modern-day vehicles. Awesome cleaning work on the interior as well. It's amazing how much one person can do ; Super Sarah.
It’s been low ever since RUclips started prioritizing those absolute trash shorts. I’m trying to expand my reach on other media outlets now but it’s tough to manage more.
@@SarahnTuned I don’t understand RUclips’s objective with the “shorts”. Certainly it is not just you monetized content creators that get the ad revenue… RUclips gets a cut too, don’t they? So why push non-ad videos?
That new pioneer system is really cool! Love the phone holder that hides back into the unit! Best of luck with the new job Charlie, we'll miss you around Sarah's shop...
I have a great deal of empathy for you, Charlie and Fred getting hurt while doing what you love. The Alpine was a great idea and purchase...too bad it did not work out. The Pioneer is another great choice.
Whoa, that carpet turned out looking way better than I thought it would! And nice job on the head unit, it blends in nicely. I can't believe it's almost done, you and Charlie have done fantastic work on this. And speaking of, congrats Charlie on the new job!
While I appreciate and understand wanting to put a period correct Alpine cassette deck in this car, I bet whoever wins would be happier with a modern Airplay head unit. That would be the first thing I replaced. Cassettes were a pain.
I still remember setting my 4 foot long duffle bag full of cassette singles, greatest hits and mix tapes of most genres from 60s-2003 on top of my garbage can at the curb after not finding anyone to give them a home. Though I don't miss finding a warped cassette wedged in the stereo due to the summer sun beaming on it while parked
It's crazy how much $ people used to spend on stereo equipment in the 80s. Just to have it be pretty much worthless a few years later. People would spend big money on a car CD player or boom box that would skip when it hits a bump. Then a few years later, they came out with models that wouldn't skip 😂 I did see certain types of boom boxes & other 80s electronics are worth some decent cash now though. CDs when they just came out cost the equivalent of about $50 each. CD makers started a rumor that they were practically indestructible, saying you'd never have to worry about them getting scratched or breaking 😂
OK Sarah watching your expressions of delight about finding all of these hard to get items for the car and the insane amount of effort you put into each and everyone of the builds we have enjoyed watching, I have to win this car. Just went shopping 🛍️. Thanks for the best, no BS content on RUclips 👍🇺🇸 Regards Lou from Miami.
Remember working on this car back in the day. When you trim plastic you can clean up those rough edges with a fine file, even a finger nail board will work! Try trimming with tin snips, leave extra and file to finish.
Aloha Sarah. The rims on the Celica are a perfect look and fit. Really enjoy watching your videos and seeing your creativity with these build. Prayers for my Ohana on Maui. 👍
Charlie's suspension episode was really interesting - I have been watching for years but havn't commented yet but I really appreciate and admire his skill. Thank you Sarah for all the effort you put in to inform, educate and amuse us all - we are all different and I for one like to fabricobble !
One of those wires on that original equalizer i believe is for the lights that light up the face when you turn the stereo on. If you could run a jumper just so it lights up when the radio is on would be a nice touch. That new unit you bought for that looks super sharp !!
Very wonderful work. You have skill and precision in maintenance and renovation. I am from Saudi Arabia. I have a Supra like this and the same color. Black. I stored it and did not take it out for years. It has been standing in the garage. Continue. I encourage you. ✌
Wow, just wow. The things being done to this car. Mind blowing! The surprise? Gold? OK, I'm guessing a beautiful gold SUPRA graphic spread across the rear!
7:29 I totally appreciate period correctness, I searched for years in junkyards for a period correct Alpine competition spec cd player for my bagged 2003 S10 minitruck and found an Alpine from 2003ish to put in it. It even had iPhone or iPod 4ish connector and I bought an adapter to plug in my then iPhone with a lightning adapter. Totally worth it, and I found another later. A CDA-9856 which I like more with my 20yo Infinity 4x6 plate dash speakers, 20yo CDT component 6.5 door speakers, and Orion 15” sub and Sony Xplod amp from back in the day.
I love this build. Have you considered building or buying a fairly large workbench or table? Working off the floor is exhausting, and hard on your back. I would be willing to bet you could make something that would have lockable casters so it would stay still when you need it to and still be easy to move around.
Hey Sarah, Great job at restoring the interior amazing how those old Toyota interiors hold up. Fun fact, we always called Jute (toot ) because it always smelled like old farts have a great one🐧🐧🐧👍
You are awesome for giving it away. I'd love to see one that gets auctioned off after. To save something for that retairement or expand your operation.
I love that old Alpine head unit, I had that exact one in one of my cars back in the 80's! Too bad it didn't work for you, but the Pioneer unit is a great solution, glad it worked out!
What an awesome build, love your attention to detail...As it happens, About a month a go I wanted to upgrade a 90s JDM with only 1 DIN space, but because I wanted maps etc & I bought exactly the same Pioneer unit!!! 😮.....never thought I’d have anything in common with Sarah😊
That was a ton of work. The jute was the way to go. The Cusco strut brace is perfect. You made the right move with the audio. The original Toyota head unit I believe was supplied by Fujitsu-Ten. Finding one in working order is near impossible. The Pioneer looks the part and is a more practical alternative. The whole car is another quality Sarah build that anyone would be proud to call theirs! I would!
That new stereo you found is so, cool with the built in phone holder..... magic especially for it to fit your pocket sized i - phone lap - top that fit's in your pocket....
I watched the suspension video, surprised their wasn't many views? I have heard quite a few RUclips Creators stating that they are not getting the views they are used to. Maybe the algorithm has changed without notice. I would definitely agree cars from this era are way better built than cars of today. Though in defense of todays cars they are safer, more powerful and more fuel efficient. I have a hard time believing though any new car of today will still be on the road in 40 yrs🙄
Don't worry about the radio. More than likely it will get changed out for a modern double din LCD unit. I personally would change it for a blue tooth system. A few minutes later. You found a modern old school looking unit. 😁😁😁
That head unit is a thing of beauty! 👏🏻. Despite it not being sponsored, you did them a favor with the overview! 👍🏻 Lucky bloke who’s going to win this sweet ride! 🤞🏻👏🏻😎
Your new "next day" and other graphics look great. BTW, I love that you have JUMP in your playlist. I'm old enough to be your grandpa and Jump is in one of my Amazon Music playlist.
When Sarah fixes the car, it's like when it comes from the factory. Congratulations. I watch every video, I don't know which one is more interesting. Greetings from Novi Sad, Serbia
I'd really recommend Crutchfield for audio stuff new. They give you everything you need to make it easy. Might be slightly more pricey but documentation and warranty are super easy with them.
Sarah, you could have used the cassette deck that controlled the piggyback cd player (full double din setup) from the early 90s Celica. It should be a direct plug and play.
for those "fine cuts" with boxcutter on hard plastic, try electricians cutter plieres, small ones are like precise toenail cutter, super easy to control and cut plastic - only if plastic is hard it wants to "crack" under pressure so before leave it in the sun for 10 minutes just to be pliable. another great work video
Have you ever had one of your period correct restorations appraised? I really hope to one day see one of yours at one of the BIG auction on TV with your name attached to it. Kinda like Gas Monkey or Chip Foose... I think you deserve that kind of recognition for the kind of quality to detail you have!
