I learnt during the quarantine that I love green lid with orange crease. Cool tone looks awful on my mid warm Asian skin tone, but dark navy and dark purple look beautiful. 💚🧡
My strategy for wearing bold colors is to just put them on my eyes and/or lips, smile at myself in the mirror, and go about my day. :) Once you get used to seeing yourself with those crazy colors, it's a lot easier to be confident about it. The only colors that aren't welcome on my face are brown, orange, and yellow. For anyone struggling with a certain color, it may be the undertone that's causing you problems. Colors with warm undertones clash with me, but I like just about any color on me as long as the undertone is neutral or cool. If you think you "can't" wear red lipstick, you probably need to find a red that matches your skin's undertone.
And to find your skin’s undertone, look at the veins on the inside of your wrist. If they’re blue/purple then your undertone is cool. If they’re green/olive then your undertone is warm. If they’re faint, or match the color of your skin, then you have neutral undertones. Simple!
@@TexasLadyS yep! Took me a while to figure this out. Use natural light though because sometimes those cool blue fluorescent lights in stores can confuse the eye. Right? Did me anyway.. lol
Or maybe a color is not for you. Doesn’t matter if a color is warm, neutral or cool but I just don’t like red lips on me. I’m at peace with that. For my daughter , it’s pink. You don’t have to wear any color you want. Just saying wear it is about the laziest suggestion and not a bit helpful LMAO
@@deathbeforedecaf7755 I never said "everyone will love every color as long as the undertone matches them." I have the Wet n Wild Pac Man palette, and one way I have loved wearing it, and gotten many compliments on, is using the colors to make a sunrise/sunset. So I have yellow that blends to orange and then blends to pink. Gorgeous. So I think you can do more bold looks if you are using nature to guide you.
Double eyeliner colors was very in, in the early to mid 60's. Twiggy the model made that very popular! With Mary Quant with her colorsticks! Remember because I did it! LOL

I am writing this before I have even watched the video. I juat wanted to say I love this concept. Most palettes these days have one or two of these colors and I just stare are them bewildered on how to use them. Thanks in advance!
One thing I like doing is trying out new colors before I wash my face at night. You can play around with any and everything knowing that you're getting ready to wash it all off anyway. I've found some great color combos over the years using this trick!
For those with brown eyes, purple makes your eyes really pop! I used purple highlight in my inner corners and get compliments all the time! The pink makes you eyes POP! Great, informative video, have a lovely weekend 💋
Zabrena, due to the fact I wear glasses, what lashes from your line would u recommend? They're all beautiful!!! I did order from your line a couple of years ago. Since then, there are so many more on your site❤
I've been playing with pink and red eyeshadow lately. Thanks for the red toned eyeshadow tip, I really needed that. I loved my great aunts mod style eye look that she always wore. However, she would wear yellow instead of the white with the bold black of the mod look. I liked the look of the "Twiggy" lower lashes drawn with liner. Your Historical Mod video is exactly how her eye makeup looked, but where you did white in that video she loved bright colors and would sometimes use a bright blue, green, or yellow, with the white used rarely. The pantone colors this year made me remember her, she passed away when I was a teen and I used to wear her yellow mod eye look as a teen with silver lipstick, silver lipstick was trending in the 90s for a while and I wore it long after it was out of style. I think I'll try out that look again now, since it is the pantone colors this year.
I struggle with yellow and green. I can wear reds purples and oranges. My grey eyes protrude due to hypothyroidism, and i would love to pull of a smokey eye - but cant! Would you consider doing a video about wearing eye making up with issues like that? Huge fan zabrena. Health and safety to you and your family. God bless Love mags from scotland x
How to wear bold colors: Simply wear them! Makeup is fun and has no rules! Truthfully tho, you offer wonderful advice for people who may be intimidated/unsure of how to wear bolder tones. I'm personally a "go for it" kinda gal. A personal favorite I've been doing a lot lately a taupe satin eyeshadow all over, a bright metallic/shimmer/matte on my inner corner, and a gunmetal gray lip. Combine this with my blue hair, and I'll just be on top of the world for the day. Bless you Zabrena, another great video!
I have forever been hunting for a deep red matte lipstick with gold micro glitter. Most red metallic lipsticks have silver glitter and it makes the lipstick appear pink.
Have you checked out Jeffree Star velour liquid lipsticks? He had a matte red shade with gold flecks in it, I think the color was called Poinsettia which I know sounds christmassy but he recently brought back many of his holiday collection colors and kept them as permanent in his lineup. Might be worth checking out :)
For the really bold pink and red shadows, try wearing them as blush. When they're a little more sheered out, they can look really pretty on various skin tones!
Ohh yess ! These are fantastic tips and tricks! Time to play with my make-up ! Thank you soo much, I wish you did include some more of your looks, because you are soo creative! 🤩🤩
Really useful tips! I love colourful eyeshadows but like you say, theyre a bit too much for an everyday look. Your tips are great for including them on more wearable looks. Thanks!!!
Awesome video, Zabrena (as usual). I love incorporating blue and teal in my water line to an otherwise neutral look, not only to add a pop of color, but also to make the whites of the eyes appear more bright. This is especially helpful when our eyes are bloodshot or tired. For correcting this issue, I like to use a range between Navy and Electric Blue. If my eyes are not tired, I like to use teal to sea green. Stay away from greens if your eyes are tired, though: it would most likely bring out the red. Blue, however, does a great job at brightening the whites of the eyes. I loved your Pantone Color of the Year look so much, by the way, that I shared a live Instagram tutorial in Spanish for my followers on Instagram, using the new Wet n Wild 10-pan eyeshadow palette “Call Me Sunshine.” Thank you for providing so much inspiration. Many blessings, AngiePerezTV
So nice to hear from a RUclipsr who is talking about how to make bright colors look less clownish and less extreme. I have seen the swing in trends from neutral and lightly pigmented to bright and highly pigmented. And, as a black person, I find this to be interesting. I have to have significant pigment in order for it to even show up. And I have tried crazy colors that look subtle and classy rather than wild - namely most greens, oranges and yellows - because I have a deeper complexion. Neutral browns disappear. Meanwhile, most pastels look chaulky. I am glad that bold colors are in style so that I have a lot of options. Now, I am experimenting. (Even I struggle to understand how to use some of the Juvias Place palettes.). And, the advice is appreciated. Update 1/12/22 - I discovered that if I use a transition shade then I can use whatever deep color in the crease and also that those dark shimmer shades make great eyeliner.
Thank you! I have a new turquoise palette, primer and eye liner. I've been working up the courage to try them. I'm going to use some of your tips, and just GO FOR IT. xoxo
