The E13 note has a good regenerative brake effect, so a drum brake is sufficient for the rear.
You don't need 4-wheel disc brakes. Unless you run on a circuit.

This Nissan Note e-Power is a Generation 3. They are only e-Power .
Nissan are the World leaders with this technology, ( they have just been awarded the Formula E drivetrain contract with McLaren to supply all Formula E drivetrains.) You get used to the motor starting and stopping, Under full power acceleration the motor runs all the time. The rest of the time the motor cycles on and off as required. Comments , I very rarely use the brakes, used only to hold at Traffic lights, regenerative braking is superb. There are 3 modes, ECO, SPORT, and a mode that simulates normal ICE car driving, no regenerative braking. Most parts of the EV system are from a Nissan Leaf. Front ETM is Leaf. In the case of the 4WD models there is a Diff and rear suspension system with another ETM ( smaller) but is syncronised with the front ETM ( ETM = Electric Traction Motor ) These cars are seriously economical. I get 20 kms / litre on Motorway driving. Around town I get up to 30 kms / litre. With A/C on all the time, at 22 deg. We pay $3.50 Litre for 91 fuel in New Zealand. I have 1 x Nissan Medalist( 2020), 3 x Nismo models (2017, 2018, 2020), 1 x Nismo Black Limited Edition model (2020), 1 x Nissan AUTECH 4WD (2020) The Autech is made by Autech to be a Luxury version, more soundproofing and more attention to detail. I have sold the Nismo S model I had, they are a really quick 2wd model. These cars come with special High Grip Tyres and believe me , you need them. Nismo change the vehicle dynamics by altering the computor for power, and the suspension for handling. The difference between the models in the driving department is quite different. I also drive an ML63 and a SL63. I own 2 x E-Type Jaguars, and a rare HSV GTS300 which was designed by Ian Callum, with assistance from Tom Walkinshaw. The bottom line is these Nissan Note e-Power cars are absolutely awesome. You must have Intelligent Cruise Control, LED Lighting, AVM surround cameras, Emergency braking, and Parking Sensors fitted as Original Equiptment, if you are serious about owning one of these cars. All latest driving aids are fitted standard as well. Any Audio /Nav system will fit nand work perfectly. I pay $500 NZD to fit a reliable Audio system. Good luck with your e-Power, Generation 2 and 3 include e-Power models.

In eco and sports mode you don't need to hold brakes at lights as it comes to complete stop, I'm in nz also and my dad got a e note and I'm impressed with it and size inside for small car
You are crazy if you dont appreciate the cup holders infront the AC. They should give that man an award for that thought.
If it's a cold day, you will have a heater on, keeping your warm drinks.. warm.
If it's a hot day, you will have air conditioning on to keep your cold drinks.. cold.

I love what they did with the back, it's not as square as the older models. I have the 2019 now.
A job well done on the review but the background music is damn annoying.
I was curious to hear the engine noise while driving, but that mindless background music never stopped. So ... is it a quiet car to drive?
It's a very quiet car to drive. Even when the engine kicks in, all you do is feel a slight vibration when it starts and that's it.
I can only remember “…my 3-year-old son’s bicycle has disc brakes” from this review.

Flat bottom steering looks sporty. Centre arm rest area looks atas as well. But really can't stand those thick bezels surrounding the displays arghhhhhh

Why can’t the engine be 600cc if its just a battery charger?
The voltage & amps required to charge the battery or even add additional power under full throttle will not suffice from a 660cc Kei car engine or any smaller. The 1.2L generator is good enough up till 150hp before running out of supply. The Qashqai e-power in the UK uses a 1.5L turbocharged generator for idk what reasons. But the voltage and amps it gives is significantly higher and can power a house.
Larger engines at much lower loads are more efficient than a small engine screaming its ass off.
how do u access all that storage space below the oversized mouse? can flip up that entire panel???
No. The panel isn't adjustable
The problem with Nissan ePower, is that instead of charging your battery from the home electric at say 16p kWh. You need to go to the petrol station and pay £1.35 p/l. Then you need to convert the MPG of the generator into miles/kWh, before you can compare. Granted that the battery pack is small, and only provides an electric range of 1 mile, before the petrol generator kicks in.

@@MotoristSg blame it on the authorised dealers here cost cutting measures. At least this car has led light, coming soon new honda civic installed with yellow halogen lamps headlights. LOL🙄🙄
I know this is a year old video but I notice no one has pointed out that there are actually good reasons for an EV or hybrid to have drum brakes that have been explained by several major publications. First, they have less residual drag when not engaged so are better for efficiency. Second, the enclosed design means they corrode less than disks when seeing minimal use like on a vehicle with regenerative braking. Third, they're mechanically less complicated especially when factoring in the addition of a parking brake so they can weigh less than a disc system - again this is good for efficiency. Fourth - service intervals are longer especially on a vehicle with brake regen.
In short, they're actually a great choice for the rear brakes on vehicles with regenerative braking like the Note E-Power. Nissan isn't alone in using them since EVs like the VW ID.4 use them too.
Too similar to the Jazz in terms of design, Nissan need to differentiate from Honda and tweak the design to be more provocative and stand out. The rear is lovely though
The back is quite similar to the Honda Vezel.
