Backstage at the 28th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame chats with Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart, and Chris Cornell, who'll be inducting the group. In this interview, Ann and Nancy Wilson talk about being inducted, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and their setlist for the 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, while Chris Cornell shares why Heart's music continues to resonate with him and how they helped inspire him and the Seattle music scene. Seattle...the city that saved rock music
R.I.P. Chris still hard to believe you're gone
It's very cool to see Chris Cornell get to induct a 'childhood rock hero'. It must've been such an honor for him. Not to mention befriending them during the early 90's when Ann and Nancy were home doing the Lovemonger benefits. Glad to see the 'rocknowledgment', as they put it. There is no putting them out to 'pasture'..they still want to and DO rock. They have much to continue to offer us fans (Heartmongers). Heart likes Rush and am sure the feeling is mutual. Respect both, don't compare.
Loved seeing all three of them together. RIP Chris.
It’s great that Cornell respected Heart so much! A shame he didn’t record a Duet with Ann! Maybe it would be too much with their incredible voices but maybe it would have been great too. We’ll never know now!
I did hear Ann do a tribute cover of Black Hole Sun and it sounded Amazing! Still Sad and Sorry that he’s gone! Way too soon! RIP Chris
Your voice and music won’t be forgotten!
chris cornell is the best-and who better to sit in with heart.
Chris Cornell r.i.p
Heartfelt and so very, very sad. Love you Chris. Soundgarden were it for me in my formative years. I still can't believe you've gone, selfishly for me as a fan but most of all for your mum, dad, siblings, children, bandmates and all the people that mattered to you in your life - those who you loved and those who loved you unconditionally. From the snippets of your life I was privy to through the media, you seemed like such a lovely man.
Love hearing Chris talk about one of his and my favorite bands, The Beatles. Ann is so beautiful! Love ❤️! Heart deserves to be in the RNR Hall of Fame! RIP Chris.
I am so happy for Ann and Nancy. They deserve this so much!! Thank you Ann and Nancy for entertaining and inspiring us....for showing us how it's done!!!!
I Have always LOVED ANN NANCY & HEART RIGHT fron the FIRST TIME that I have heard them many years ago..My Older BROTHER BILL use to Listen to them And He DIED IN A CAR CRASH WHEN I WAS 13 YEARS OLD..But I still FOLLOWED HEART.And I always will LOVED THEM..Some of their SONGS HONESTLY SENDS GOOSE BUMPS UP MY SPINE.AND far any SINGER TO DO THIS IS JUST WOUNDERFULL....
LOVE the way Nancy says how 'Barracuda' will be loud, really loud.
i think shes joking becuz of the hilarious interview Pinkpop 1992 of chris cornell ^^
i think this was literally considering Cornell, McCready and Cantrell are all playing guitars together
Aww :'-) Heart was my 1st big rock band love, I discovered..started really appreciating them in the 80's when i was about 18. & I've always appreciated the late, great Chris Cornell..my 3 fave voices from the Seattle area on this behind the scenes interview. abrazo
Til this day, I’m so happy that they have served their place in the rock hall. But it’s sad that it took them that long to get the acknowledgment they deserved ever since their dreamboat Annie album
Heartfelt and so very, very sad. Love you Chris. Soundgarden were it for me in my formative years. my favorites, Anne, Axl, Chris, and Plant are my inspiration! I can roc because of them , unique voices and i learned so well
Ann, Chris and Plant definitely…but you really put Axl in the same inspirational group of singers? Yikes. There’s a huge difference- Ann Chris and Plant were just as amazing…if not better!…when they performed/perform live. Axl is horrific without the help of everything and everyone in a studio making his album.
How did I miss this video for six years??? And HOW did I not make the connection between Heart and the Seattle sound of the 90's to today?!?! Well, being in my 40's, at least my dad gave me an appreciation for the Beatles and CCR and such, and I'm still enough of a Gen Xer to not be too late or too curmudgeonly to see the Seattle connection and appreciate it. :)
Heart sang with Cornell and even Alice In Chains a little bit in the 90s, hence the mention of Jerry Cantrell here. Look up "Right Turn" and "Am I Inside" by Alice In Chains. PROMISE you'll get chills 🤘🏻😜
We Love You,Ann,Nancy,Chris!
For the people who commented that the original band members like Roger Fisher weren't there, I mean did you even listen to the interview? They said they are performing three songs. One with the original members, one with just Ann and Nancy, and one with the new band. That being said, there were problems in the band and they went separate ways so what were Ann and Nancy suppose to do? They were and are the "heart" of the group, HEART. They continued on doing what they love to do. Nothing wrong with that. I must say the original band does sound best here, even these many years later and Roger Fisher is one great guitar player.
Saw Heart on their first tour. They opened for Dave Mason and killed it!!!! He came out after with an acoustic guitar after getting our faces melted by Heart. He got booed!!!!
I miss him so much 💔😓
Me too. I was in high school when "Little Queen" came out and the album cover did it for me.
Still rocking & kickn ass, beautiful sisters💕🎤🎸💗
Always Loved Heart. You simply deserve it
you deserve this ladies!!!!!
I saw Soundgarden live once but have never seen Heart. That would be amazing. I love Chris and I luv Heart.
Heart are PHENOMENAL live. Seen them twice. Once in the mid 90s and once around 2005. Both times were unreal!!!
Ann and Nancy can do no wrong musically- their concert sets very generous, HEARTfelt...
Congradulations especially for your gracious "Heart Medley 1985 - 1994"!
Great job. Great performance. None better!
All the best,
Sincerely,
Jamieson (Peter)
Chris.....
frank tinoco 😣
Cornell
Congrats, ladies!!!!
Am I being "that guy" if I say…holy CRAP, they are both still so _smoking freaking HAWT!!!!_ 8^D 8^D 8^D
Can I be that guy?
That guy is sadly dead..
Love Chris so much
I love this!!
I cant comment on Chris cause it makes me sad..So i will just enjoy watching one of the two biggest crushes of my youth, Nancy..!! (the other one was Sussana Hoffs of the Bangles)
God Bless these people. I lived in Seattle when Kurt Cobain died and Pearl Jam ruled the radio, SoundGarden and Alice in Chains were the big thing but I've always loved Heart from the beginning. Nancy was my guitar goddess/idol at age 17.
I love The Seattle Sound ! 👏🏻😎🤟🏻
Ann Wison is falling asleep.
r.i.p big chris!
im still in love with nancy wilson
♥!!!
Nancy Wilson was & is ...
HOTTTTTTT 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Magic Man is one of the best songs ever written
love 2 c roger fisher come back as a member.. man can he werk that guitar!! hasn't missed a beat yet. outstanding performance at the RRHOF... spot on 2 say the least. stellar!!!
It's gonna be loud!
I think that I just fell even harder in love with Nancy Wilson!
Chris?!#$%^&**(wtf0
i think shes joking with the ' LOUD ' becuz of the hilarious interview Pinkpop 1992 of chris cornell ^^
Haha! Are you saying you don't like it?
@@edward6427 I know! Can you believe it?? 👀 👀
@@DavidBrash Haha perfect :D
No she is not joking !! She and Ann are amazing live !
@@edward6427 some of it. But it's just so loud 😂
Chris Cornell RIP!
i wanted to see the interview with all the 5 original members. Heart fans have been cheated for 30 years. 80's music is so dated while 70's will always be classic. you cant underestimate the chemistry between the original members. We need a reunion tour! come on fleetwood mac did it !
The rock and broke down barriers for women.
Love them both,, it's just that... Huh,,, it sucks to get old,, it really does.... Sorry...
+Bunny Munro not only look great, but their ability to still rock n roll blows me away, Ann's underappreciated vocal abilities still to this day....
Well get ready, because your time will come, quicker than you can possibly imagine. If you live you will grow old.
I survived a suicide last year, and I've done the mistake of dating younger women than me, from now on I'm only going with ladies like these. I swear Nancy and Chris would make a great couple. They seem semi-introverted and laid back. Ann is obviously a queen so I'm a bit intimidated by her, but she's way above every ex and woman I know and probably will know.
Damn, hang in there man
I agree. Also, don't you think the original lineup should have done Barracuda? I mean really!
NO WAY!! what happened ?? the reunite ?
Mark is one of MANY bass players they have had. Look it up...
Always shocked how the Wilson's don't mention Roger Fisher, let alone thank him at every turn. His fantastic guitar work and songwriting, were such a huge factor in Heart's success.
Rush was inducted same time, another huge event. Though strangely no word or cross admiration between Heart and Rush. Was there competition, arguments or a falling out? Find it strange or perhaps reading something into nothing. Heart and Rush huge influences on 70s 80s rock. Chris cornell RIP, a song writing genius. Interviews with Rush showing a similar silo effect
Documented and saved as heart uses Andrew woods material
"It's gonna be loud".. ummmmm, yeah! Of course! Gotta make up for Abba! And don't knock their eighties stuff. Strip off the cheesy gloss and leather corsets and you have classic timeless songs. I still love "Alone" and "These Dreams" and what About "Nothin At All".. I'm an eighties kid and hose are my faves.
Jerry Cantrell 🤘🏻
Consider the possibility that all of the original members of Heart might not really get along. It could be Ann and Nancy and Chris because the other guys didn't WANT to be there. Heart went on for a long time after the classic lineup all went their separate ways. Not everyone can be expected to be happy about that.
What's with the defensive bruises on Ann's right hand?
most chix do - it's understandable
I hope that Ann and Nancy realize that they could not have done it alone...what about MARK ANDES????
I don't get why there is a comparison....We're talking about two great bands long overdue to be inducted....It seems the RHOF has finally gotten their heads out of their asses...I lost all confidence in it when Madonna was inducted.....What a joke...kudos to Heart and Rush---and who better than Chris Cornell to be with Heart...Its so fitting.
I always preferred Heart to Rush myself....
I was looked down by most for liking both. lol
Mark Andes? He was in the 80's line up he not there from the start they where cool and awesome before him
Nancy will ALWAYS be hot.
WHOA,I was WITH YOU until You said they were BETTER than RUSH??? Are You F**KING KIDDING ME here??? Gimme a break!!!
Roger Michael Steve got left out for the most part,,,fans got cheated....ANN COME ON.......FANS DESERVE IT.....74 - 78 BEST YEARS,,,,i was at cap center front row.dog n butterfly it was videoed best show i ever saw....to this day......re spark for us...please Wilson sisters,,,,,before we die.....wtf
Were you AT the show? Geddy's voice was off, far more than usual.
Goddamn you Chris, why?
Ask his "bodyguard".
and his wife/ Linda Ramone
From what I've been able to gleam, it was the psychotropic medication he was on. He apparently made the mistake of mixing it with other stuff, and that toxic mixture caused him to fall into a very dark state of mind he would not have been had he been sober.
Michael George huge loss
Followed Soundgarden and Heart since I was a kid. Yeah it's a punch in the gut seeing this. I will never forget Cornell. Would have been cool to have music written by those three.
Don Henley, is that you?
I SEE,so the ONLY THING about RUSH is his VOICE??? Please Refer BACK to my ORIGINAL-COMMENT!!! Ugh.
chris has a relationship with nansy
kali ivanova They kind of exchanged looks...
He has a friendship with Nancy and her husband Cameron Crowe.
Nancy has been married to Geoff Bywater (“Glee”) since 2011.
Nancy is still hot!!!
Wow... Chris is looking pretty good here.
This isn't a Man that is strung out like some of the people that has said if you can even call them people that has painted a picture of him being a strung out washed up rocker . NOTHING BUT FALSE LIE'S
RIP CC YOU'LL NEVER DIE MY FRIEND
Although similar, Heart and Fleetwood Mac's stories of infidelity are quite different.
;
YES A VERY HOT WOMAN!
Wonder if they went to that joke of a funeral.
Caroline Maslin Yes. They went.
I'm sure Pat Benatar knows how you guys feel to she's been snubbed for years herself... 40 Years Gone by for her you guys still ignore in the Rock Hall.. come on buttheads...
He should have married one of them two at least he would still be alive
If I am going to be a hoax I am going to be an American hoax 😎🍦⛓️
They played great, all 3 songs. Roger Fisher still HAS IT! Ann was amazing... they were MUCH better than Rush, who had seriously poor vocals.
why cornell always look stoned?
Chris cringed so hard at “rocknowledgement”…
I love Rush, I go to see them every year. Sadly, this show, Geddy's vocals were quite terrible. Nothing to do with history or longevity or anything - he just sang really poorly. Ann Wilson sang perfectly. Simple - if you weren't there, you would not know, right?
Chris looks high here.
that's your opinion - I don't agree. Also, Rush's career has been sooooooooo much more amazing than Heart's.
Yeah super odd the original members of Heart were not there. I read that Roger Fisher and his friend invited the girls into "their" band Heart, Ann and Nancy are so unappreciative. It's like they're pretending they did it all on their own, like the band were hired hands. RRHOF speeches were appalling, rather than being grateful to those who helped them, they bitched..about how hard they had it! Yeah right, tell that to Harry Belafonte, or Oprah.
Wow. Baracudaa really sucked with the new lineup. The old band was Heart.
