      Was shopping for a Ford truck couldn’t find a decent deal from any ford dealer 100miles from LA. Ended up buying a mint Gen 1 Raptor. Got a great deal considering, and saved a ton on dealer mark ups. I wanted to give them my business but they didn’t want it. Some dealers still messaging me 😂.

    • @ljmorris6496

      Ford (and GMC somewhat) gose for the mid-level trims and their base trucks come decently loaded, Ram and Chevy you can get an ok basic truck for under $40k.

      @@EvoSGooD I bought a gen 1 raptor brand new off the lot in 2012. It had 26 miles on it. I paid 53k. Hard to believe the new ones are nearly twice that price today and most don’t even have the v8 like mine did

    Camper package adds the overload spring and sway bar. Snow plow adds heavier coils upfront. Rides horrible with this pkg.

    I purchased a 2022 f250 4x4 supercab 6.2 stx. How much difference do you notice between 6.2 and 6.8. I wanted a 7.3 but the dealer only had a diesel and the 6.2. I also wanted payload for a truck camper.

  • @jonathanbeam6898
    @jonathanbeam6898 7 месяцев назад

    Ben, so the off road package basically has softer shocks and less payload? But XL off road has that additional leaf on top? Doesn't make sense. I'm looking to buy a 2023 F350 super duty, SRW 7.3 litre 3.73 or preferabbly 4.30 gears for pulling skid steer, 2 excavators and dump trailer. We pull 16k to 18k behind truck 1-2 days per week. Other than that it's a daily driver / sales truck.

  • @outlawfishing6281
    @outlawfishing6281 Год назад +3

    Does the rear diff on the off-road package have a drain plug? If so then it’s a m275 1 ton rear end which comes in the f250 tremor which also doesn’t have a rear sway bar on the f250 tremors which I think the derate the towing capacity on them for those reasons.. I’m still shock 56k for an xl off road packaged truck is high!!

    • @jonathanbeam6898
      @jonathanbeam6898 7 месяцев назад

      For towing goosneck, skid steer, 16k to 18k behind truck, should I get the Tremor with the 4.30 gears or just get a regular F350 SRW 3.73 gears with an XL or XLT. I rarely go off road. But 4x4 is needed towing up gravel driveways.

  • @fattie2550

    Payload is less because those are 17 inch wheels. You need 18 or 20 inch with all terrain tires.

    • @jonathanbeam6898
      @jonathanbeam6898 7 месяцев назад

      Wheels affect payload? Bigger wheels, bigger payload? Less tire flex?

    • @fattie2550
      @fattie2550 7 месяцев назад

      @@jonathanbeam6898 when you build a brand new truck, yes 18” or bigger the manufacturers give a bigger payload. I have no idea why they do this.

    7.8 vs 6.8 can haul and tow a lot more.Look at the Ford 2023 tow capacity chart. I think the 6.8 off road would be great if you didn't need to tow as much as the 7.3.
