Similar to this I use an app called whering, which is essentially the same as your spreadsheet and tracks all of the same data but you also take photos of the clothing pieces and can make outfits with them on the app. This might be a more accessible version for people who don't like spreadsheets :)
Yes! Apps like this are super helpful for more visual learners / folks that don't love spreadsheets as much as me. I haven't tried whering but I've heard good things!
If you want to do this but aren't a fan of spreadsheets or are more visual there are a lot of great virtual closet apps that will do similar things. You take pictures of your clothes instead of describing them. Bonus you can experiment with different outfits without emptying your entire closet every time. Some of them even have new outfit suggestions from your clothes. I personally use acloset but there are other options.
I am so so glad that this video was recommended to me! I am also crazy when it comes to data and spreadsheets haha. I have also recently started to learn more about slow fashion and what it looks like to dress sustainably so a closet audit seems like the perfect next step for me to keep learning. And I will never say no to a spreadsheet haha. So happy that I found your channel!
I've been thinking about doing this for months now and your video is such an inspiration to get started. Thanks for sharing your process and spreadsheets, Megan!
Hi, I am so glad to see your video, I watched them 2 years ago, in your last year at USC, I hope you've settled well into your career, please bring us up to date when time permits.
You are not crazy! I love the idea & am looking forward to the next video. I want to try this because I’ve tried a few apps in the past but I don’t like that it takes up space on my phone & they usually put a cap on how many items you can track. Maybe I’ll get the time to do this soon🤞🏼 I am a visual person, so love all the graphs✨ I just stink at excel so I’ll be needing that pdf😂
Love this, I have a very similar spreadsheet, I have a "Date retired" column too so I can see if/when I got rid of something and so how long I kept it!
I plan to do this adding photos via Google doc even bought a clicker to snap the photos faster😅 a year later still haven’t started … thinking about buying a tablet with a ton of memory to do it with 🤦🏿♂️
That's coming in my next video! I have another tab in my spreadsheet (which I show at the very end of the video in my resources section) where I can pick the items I wear each day from a drop down menu.

Yes I love that these apps suggest new outfit ideas! Definitely another good way to audit your closet.

AH so excited to hear this was helpful!!
i love this! my friends think i’m crazy for having a spreadsheet for clothing but it is nice to intentionally look at what you own.
Glad to see you back!
Happy to be back!
I love how detailed you are
this is one of the only things I'm detailed about 😂

that’s so smart!! I have a separate sheet where I move that info and record more like what I did with it (sold, donated, upcycled, etc) and when

Hey, I would really request you to make this into a notion template
how do you track when you wear an item? so you can get the cost per wear number
