if your waist is currently significantly smaller than the pants you're trying to wear, the fabric bunches up oddly and droops around the belt and you have to constantly babysit it anytime you adjust your belt. -- sincerely, someone with IBS whose waist can fluctuate as many as 8 inches in a single day depending on bloating

i have these little waistband extenders that hook onto the button and make the opening a little wider as well... great for when mother nature stops by for a visit lol
A trick I learned in high school, take a rubber band and loop it around the front loops, then pull it tight and tie it. It’s not the prettiest but it’s great for when I’m working or on a walk and my pants won’t stay up
Similarly I learned a hack when my mom was pregnant to use a rubber band to widen pants! Loop the band through the button hole and over the button. I do it occasionally when I overeat or am bloating from period, for comfort. Ofc this doesn’t work great if you wear short cut shirts, but long tanks were in style at the time and I generally wear men’s shirts so it works for me!
There's also double pins that act like a little clasp so you can use them in the back (or another inconspicuous spot) to make the garment smaller temporarily

You dont have to replace it. I mean you do but there are ways to "reset" the filter. And no, i dont just mean the button
Whatever filter you get, look up tests online first. I was surprised how bad most filters are.
