How could anyone possibly thumbs down this car....its amazing and it does all things well. Road and Track 0-60 4.3seconds 1/2 mile 13 flat....no Sti can touch this.
We don't see a lot of new cars with cigarette lighters nowadays... Mitsubishi stopped putting those in the Eclipse starting when they made the 4th generation in 2006 (though a smoker's kit is available as an accessory).
Infinite Space I agree with you....it has that mean Stormtrooper look to it. I want one so bad, but not sure how long Mitsubishi is gonna be around in the US market.
This is simply the most succesful rally car around the world. This one in particular (the GSR with manual gearbox) is the stripped out, rally tuning oriented version. If you want a loaded Evo, just check out the MR version, with the top-of-the-line stereo with satnav, the dual clutch auto gearbox and so on. Thanks Kyle for this!
I am a proud owner of a Phantom Black 2013 EVO - X. I love the way it drives and feels. People do prefer the VW golf R, BMWs and Mercs over this because they don't like the internal look and feel. But you know what, I would prefer this car any day. I am surprised and astonished at its ability to punch over its weight. Porches and M3s hate this car. 1/2 the price and twice the fun. I live in Australia, and people here like their holdens and fords but Evo beats most of them in stock condition.
Yeah, some people are scared of learning manual, but it's super easy. It becomes second nature to shift. And if you learn in a manual then you can drive automatic too, but if you learn automatic then you can't drive manual. My dad had to drive an automatic for his first few years in Australia and we actually get car sick much easier in automatic too. We have two manual cars now :D I can't wait to start driving.
A great accomplishment. Thanks for some very nice camera work displaying this pristine example of a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. The engine bay looks like something out of a boutique. It's impecably maintained. Thanks again.
This is the GSR model. The MR is slightly higher (more expensive too) and it comes with a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox. You have the choice between manual paddleshifters or fully automatic. Obviously the manual isn't entirely manual because it's still a computer doing the shift, only, you're telling it when to shift. That's because of the double clutch system for fast shifting between gears.
Amazing videos. I enjoyed watching them, particularly the rare high performance vehicles and super cars. But can I make a few suggestions of what I would love to see you do some in-depth reviews of: 2012 Toyota Camry SE or Hybrid, 2012 Honda CR-V EX-L with Navi, 2012 Volkswagen Beetle, Volkswagen GTI or Golf R, Lexus LS600hL, and the upcoming 2013 Lexus GS350 when it is available, Infiniti G37 S and M, Nissan 370Z.
Main difference is GSR is a 5-speed. The MR has a 6-speed TC-SST transmission and a bunch of other extras like, BBS rims, HID headlamps, suspension with Eibach springs, etc etc.
Is there a version with push button start and a nav system? That interior seems a bit lacking for that price point considering u can get more (interior wise) in a brz
ah, my dream car! well one of them anyway. But I will tune it to 600 BHP. But what I am curious on is the drive train. I know its an AWD but considering the engine is mounted width wise to the body of the car, how does the power from the gearbox go to the rear wheels? like from my knowledge of cars; when you have an engine mounted like that; you have whats called a trans-axle. so for this setup; were is the drive shaft for the rear wheels??
I have a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer LST, but curious why the manufacture designed the engine to have a knocking sound to it...something like the diesel motor sound. Thanks
Can you do a review of the 2012 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ V6? I am going to be searching for a Malibu LTZ at Bob Johnson Chevrolet in Rochester, NY tomorrow. It would help huge if you did a review for me.
@zipper978 I find a 6 speed gearbox much more comfortable then a 5. Its easy on the highway to just pop it in to 6th and u wont have to shift down for overtakes etc, and u save loads of fuel.
Oh how interesting, I went to the auto show today hoping to see an Evo. (I was actually expecting Mitsu to be there for some reason) Well, at least I got to see an Evo explored today.
Do they make these with the smart key? When the engine turns over, it sounds like the 1993-1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Of course Chrysler and Mitsubishi used to have a relationship, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Jeep used the same starter as the Mitsu.
It's one of the most advanced car on the market today, top gear BBC does a great deal on the lancer evolution, it's amazing how much of a car you get. They were actually comparing this to the fully equipped 335i and said they would rather have this amazing car, american top gear also does a bit on the Evolution. Both good watches, I think you'll come back with an open mind. :)
this car still looks cool and imo doesnt need a redesign anytime soon but it desparately needs a new powertrain (more powerfull and fuel efficient engine, and smoother transmission) other than that its a heck of a car =)
@jiggymonk00 It's a small tank for a few reasons...that's the largest it can fit. It's a race/rally inspired car so it doesn't need a large tank. And also because a smaller tank = less weight when it's full, therefore, faster acceleration. That answer your question?
Wow wow wow. Miracles DO happen. Someone who doesnt criticize Mitsubishi. Anyway, I do agree with you, this has to be one of the best if not the best Jap. car!
its such a good looking car, and it also an amazing all wheel drive system and not to mention its super fast, so why does mitsubishi make the interior so cheap? if they stepped their game up with the interior and maybe some features, this would be a no brainer purchase.
In Australia, where I live, most people can't drive manual :( basically all cars are sold in automatic. I'm certainly going to learn manual when I get my licence.
Let's be kind; I call it utilitarian. But then again, I find myself liking this interior better than the E90. At least it isn't gimmicky for starters. The quality isn't too far apart.
I don't think you quite understand how well the Evo handles. It will do insane things on the track even if you're not a pro driver. It's not called the little GTR for nothing you know.
Am I the only person that actually likes the spoiler? Jeez...
Nope......I like it too
Kristian Nesbeth And you're not alone.
I love the spoiler
Love it. It is its signature piece.
I think they look wrong without the spoiler.
I’ve owned 2 Mitsubishi and I’m a proud owner. It saved our life when we had a head on collision about 10 years ago. Mitsubishi is a great brand.
Soon, it will be mine.
You took a Genesis instead stfu
+Justin Wrx 😂😂😂
I eat ass luv ur username XD
One year later, he finally gets an EVO ;)
No it won't.
How could anyone possibly thumbs down this car....its amazing and it does all things well.

What a beautifuly designed car.. and I love that wing :)
matt wells Who are you?
matt wells I don't really know you though..
White is the best color for this car. It looks so mean!
Infinite Space I agree with you....it has that mean Stormtrooper look to it. I want one so bad, but not sure how long Mitsubishi is gonna be around in the US market.

Whoever complains about the interior of this car is forgetting that the EVO is a rally inspired car, not a luxury car.
This was my first saabkyle video to watch :')
Lovely video! You are doing a great job Kyle!! Keep up the god work!!!
THANK YOU! This is the car I was looking at, but couldn't find in local dealers.
I am a proud owner of a Phantom Black 2013 EVO - X. I love the way it drives and feels. People do prefer the VW golf R, BMWs and Mercs over this because they don't like the internal look and feel. the BEST review i'v seen for this car ...
This is a very nice a car i would consider buying one (And for all you 5 year olds out there we all realize that this is the Karuma from GTAV)
if you're going to get a WRX get a Ralliart, if you're going to get an STI get an EVO!
wow
kuddlekins15 i own an sti and i'm just waiting for a little more cash to trade it in for an evo x
you said wrx instead of lancer bro
what?
you must be an idiot
I'm speechless... This is one awesome looking car
I want this car so bad!
you and me both
me 3
A great accomplishment. Thanks for some very nice camera work displaying this pristine example of a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. The engine bay looks like something out of a boutique. It's impecably maintained. Thanks again.
I just bought an 08 MR, trust me worth every penny!
I love the styling of this car. It looks great!
Recently test drove a 08 MR and it flies!! Love this car!!!
This is the GSR model. The MR is slightly higher (more expensive too) and it comes with a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox. You have the choice between manual paddleshifters or fully automatic. This exactly what I need, great video man,
Thanks and keep up the good work.
Great presentation on the Evolution x!
Considering it only has 15 miles I don't think you should be revving it over 4000....
Ive been looking for you son, Im glad an evo brought us together :)
Hi Kyle another great video I was wondering if you could get your hands on a 2012 range rover sport autobiography
Sweet Evo! Great video as always Kyle!
This car looks so cool I want one now
Hey saabkyle I was wondering if you will do a review of a 2nd generation scion tc anytime soon thanks! As usually great job with your auto reviews!
i love the aggressive look...
Amazing videos. I enjoyed watching them, particularly the rare high performance vehicles and super cars. rode in an evo 9. those seats are surprisingly comfortable
Thanks for the great, well put together video
Main difference is GSR is a 5-speed. The MR has a 6-speed TC-SST transmission and a bunch of other extras like, BBS rims, HID headlamps,
suspension with Eibach springs, etc etc.
I actually like the interior. It's to the point and comfortable. That's what a driver's car interior should be.
YES! Kyle you're the best!
beautiful car
this is actually a pure sound of power
its the best interior ever !!
Beautiful car. what is that device on the left rear window?
Is there a version with push button start and a nav system? That interior seems a bit lacking for that price point considering u can get more (interior wise) in a brz
Do they put the washer fluid and battery in the back for perfect weight distribution or something?
@MercedesF700 They were only available in UK but seems to be tuned by cossie.
I want this, nice work Kyle
Excellent --> Review! Thanks for the info!
ah, my dream car! well one of them anyway. But I will tune it to 600 BHP. But what I am curious on is the drive train. im torn between getting an Evo X and an Evo IV
i like the IX body more but i love all the new tech in the X
I have a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer LST, but curious why the manufacture designed the engine to have a knocking sound to it...something like the diesel motor sound.
Thanks
nice, but i dont get why the spoiler of the GSR is not included on the MR
FREEEEE BIRDDDDD!!!
With a tune the mpg gets significantly better, I get 27 highway while retaining about 340 whp
When i saw that this was uploaded in my head i was like:
HALLELUJAH, BABY! yeah. :)
Can you do a review of the 2012 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ V6? I am going to be searching for a Malibu LTZ at Bob Johnson Chevrolet in Rochester, NY tomorrow. It would help huge if you did a review for me.
@saabkyle04
can you try the normal Murano?
Most beautiful car in the world
Evo they look hot I love that company
I had a evo for 7 years it's still works
@zipper978 I find a 6 speed gearbox much more comfortable then a 5. Its easy on the highway to just pop it in to 6th and u wont have to shift down for overtakes etc, and u save loads of fuel.
This car is amazing!
what is the name of the song playing when you first turned on the radio?
these have heated seats right? cause its cold up here in Canada!
how do it make that noise in the beginning when getting into car?? by pressing break while in park?
I though all evo's would have projector HID headlights. Is this an option now?
Goosebumps at engine start... :S
kyle, what's the diffrence between gsr, MR, FQ 400 and standard evo?
Evo's are generally considered to be better in performance, while STI's have had better interiors. All up to you dude.
Pretty interesting Rally-car good find Kyle
Oh how interesting, I went to the auto show today hoping to see an Evo. (I was actually expecting Mitsu to be there for some reason)
Well, at least I got to see an Evo explored today.
So, when was this filmed? I know it's been a couple months, lol.
1:52 Horn Sounded Like 2016 Honda Civic
Do they make these with the smart key? When the engine turns over, it sounds like the 1993-1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Of course Chrysler and Mitsubishi used to have a relationship, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Jeep used the same starter as the Mitsu.
Drove a '12 yesterday. Wished I hadn't. Now thinking of trading the '11 Speed.
is the hatchback the same engine /hp all that good stuff
my (reasonable) dream car
the engine on the 2007-present Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is assembled in
Kurashiki, Okayama, Japan
So far this is my FAV design of the Mitsu Evo.
When else would you rev it? Just curious.
The motor "music"....Very nice!
It's one of the most advanced car on the market today, top gear BBC does a great deal on the lancer evolution, it's amazing how much of a car you get. They were actually comparing this to the fully equipped 335i and said they would rather have this amazing car, american top gear also does a bit on the Evolution. Thanks. It was very in depth.
this car still looks cool and imo doesnt need a redesign anytime soon but it desparately needs a new powertrain (more powerfull and fuel efficient engine, and smoother transmission) other than that its a heck of a car =)
Can you do the Audi Q5 2.0T?
and i like your sentanses ' ' and so the further do '' gooooood review
@jiggymonk00 It's a small tank for a few reasons...that's the largest it can fit. It's a race/rally inspired car so it doesn't need a large tank. And also because a smaller tank = less weight when it's full, therefore, faster acceleration. That answer your question?
@crystalscan2002 Wrong, the Lancer Evos backround is rallying not street racing.
so whats the major different between the GSR & MR model?
Can u find and review a 2012 Lancer/Evo/or Outlander?
Wow wow wow. Miracles DO happen. Someone who doesnt criticize Mitsubishi. Anyway, I do agree with you, this has to be one of the best if not the best Jap. car!
This is what I've heard but is Mitsubishi is going to discontinue the Evolution brand after 2013?
its such a good looking car, and it also an amazing all wheel drive system and not to mention its super fast, so why does mitsubishi make the interior so cheap? if they stepped their game up with the interior and maybe some features, this would be a no brainer purchase.
In Australia, where I live, most people can't drive manual :( basically all cars are sold in automatic. I'm certainly going to learn manual when I get my licence.
Great video.
@saabkyle04 can you do a review of the 2013 mercedes ml ?
There are different versions, the mr has 6 gears with its tcsst tranny and you can add the sss package which gives yoiu projector hids.
@saabkyle04 how come you dont do videos on Infiniti vehicles?
