    You truly did this car justice. People are so obsessed with numbers these days that no one truly looks at all of the stunning attention to detail and all of the R&D and money put into making it an unparalleled ownership experience. The quality, fit, finish and engineering are stunning.
    It would have been nice to mention the Lexus LFA Nurburgring record (on street non racing compound tires of 7:14, which is the quickest lap ever by a car that is not wearing Michelin Cup racing compound tires.

  • @rbstigs5028
    @rbstigs5028 9 лет назад +17

    The LFA has handling and grip few cars can match, and it's incredibly agile because it weighs less than 3300 pounds. Its engine sounds amazing, and revs to 9000 rpm, making good use of its close ratio transmission, making its nuburgring lap time is only 7:14, which beats the Lamborghini Aventador, Bugatti Veyron, Nissan GT-R, Audi R8, Mercedes SLS AMG GT/Black Series, Lamborghini Gallardo, and all but 6 cars. The LFA also took 10 yrs of development to create, its 65% carbon fiber, and only 500 were made. LFA's are amazing even tho there are some flaws we spot

  • @2ZZGE100
    @2ZZGE100 11 лет назад +3

    The interior is perfection. Such a beautiful and amazing place to be in and put that together with that 9500 rpm F1 V10 engine and incredible handing, it is no wonder the greatest car ever to have come out of Japan.

    Pursuit of Perfection at its best.

  • @KLRGT500KR
    @KLRGT500KR 11 лет назад +4

    Agreed. The fact that LFA did a 7:14 when it carries the weight of so much luxury and also is focused on experience than numbers and without using racing slick super slick compound tires commands the highest respects from the TRUE enthusiasts.
    It is a no compromise exclusive exotic supercar like the mega factory episode showed. It was intended to be a racing car with an F1 V10 9500 rpm engine without giving up all of the luxuries and the experience of driving a proper racing car.

    I never appreciated supercars. They just appeared to me like basically the same. Huge amount of power, crazy handling, exclusivity and more but always looked like soulless machines. For me the soul of a car is the memories you build in it but i might admit that this car looks like having one from the start. I owned expensive and fast cars in the past and always came back to old common cars because of the soul and history it had. I would definitively give a chance to an LFA. I'm affraid i'll have to content myself knowing i fuel filled one, which is already way more near of the car most people will ever be. Thank you so much for this very complete and detailed video. You showed the everyday aspect of it, not just the supercar in it :)

    I don't know why everyone doesn't speak about the weight reduction of the Nurburgring Package LFA compared to a standard LFA, because the NP LFA is ~100kg lighter, and that's the main difference that makes it faster than the standard LFA. There's areodynamics differences, +10hp, semi-slicks, etc... but these are light modifications and are not the one that makes the NP LFA this fast.

      The LFA took 10 years to develop, so while technology advanced, it started to fall behind. But it's still a beauty.

      Matt Aventador is 2.9 seconds, Porsche 918 is 2.6 seconds, 911 turbo s is 3.1 seconds, even the Murcielago LP640 from 2006 is faster (3.4 seconds). Heck even the first GT-R was faster in 2008 with 3.5 seconds 0-100. And GT-R cost 80.000$. Sorry but 3.6 seconds is just slow for THIS kind of car.

    • @6SLeGM
      @6SLeGM 7 лет назад +1

      Lexus has never planned to build a car for outright speed.....it's the experience. Ask Jeremy Clarkson and he'll say the LFA is the best car he ever driven.

      +Black Man It's Nürburgring Edition, so basically it's a GT3 car ready on tracks and it's way more capable of providing more down force.
      You see every GT3/GT4 tuned car has big fixed wing instead of fancy small auto-rising wing, right?

    • @ImineResveratrol
      @ImineResveratrol 8 лет назад

      JimRaynor2001
      I think it's ugly. That's all I'm saying. Also this isn't a GT3 car.

    • @JimRaynor2001
      @JimRaynor2001 8 лет назад

      It doesn't name it. But it's tuned specific for tracks. Big wing is needed just like other track cars. You see Porsche 911 GT3 RS4.0, McLaren 650S GT3 and P1 GTR?

      I am a GTR fan as well. GTR of course is one of the best supercars in the martket, but I have to say. GTR might have better performance, but it is no way GTR is better than the LFA. LFA is not only about performance. it is the artwork which toyota engineer took 10 years on it, just listen to that exhaust note sound just like a F1. We have to face it, LFA is the best car made in Japan's history.

    Sir, I just wanted to say your vids are amazing!! What a perfect job you have!! I stumbled upon your 2013 GranTurismo MC vid while researching what Maserati to buy and your excellent and informative analysis has been the deciding factor. I whole heartedly thank you for educating me. I got the exact MC as you detailed. Except I have a red illuminated trident on the front clip.
    Thank you again and you have a most loyal and devoted fan who is passing the word about your channel!

    "the bridgestones seem good, and in the back of my mind i can't quite shake the thought that the RE070 were OE on the porsche 959"
    the fact that the tyres were original equipment on the 959 makes the laptime even more impressive
    the LFA clearly achived more using less power (imagine what the ACR would've done on sub-600hp)

    That was the point of the LFA. It was something they KNEW was gonna have more loss than gains, but what they wanted was to put out a Lexus Supercar no matter what. It actually has so many nice things in it, some things not even mentioned in this video.
    Plus, that sound it has. The sound no other car even comes close to, except the carrera gt.
    This car is just amazing, and is made for people who don't strain their hand pulling out hundreds of thousands for a luxury supercar.

    It is pretty easy to tell that the BRZ and the FR-S is roughly based off the LFA ( since there all partners ) which is kind of cool to see. Great Review by the way!!

  • @bucketslash11
    @bucketslash11 11 лет назад

    one of the places the LFA spent most of it's development was on chassis tuning, in fact it spent the entire time from the first time in 2004 till the finished NE in 2011
    they started with the carbon fibre chassis in 2005 so you can get an idea of how well tuned the chassis is and remember this car kept up with a car with a more powerful engine and tons more torque, yet it only managed to pull 2 seconds ahead on 20.8km track (puts it into perspective)

    This, my friends, is the symphony of a V10. Engines such as these are being phased out by their higher efficiency, forced induction replacements. There is nothing like the sound and spirit of a V10. Let those of us that have a passion for cars enjoy these beasts while they are still around.
