THANK YOU Mrs W for sharing your thoughts and music 💯 watching your husband put up those studs is ALMOST as enjoyable as listening to your music 😂😂 THANKS AGAIN 🙏🏼❤️
Dan, again it is great seeing both you and Sheral. Seems like Andrew is having a LOT of work done to his Castle. Is Andrew going to, at some point going to install proper electrical and lighting in the sections of castle you are working on?? I LOVE Sheryl son " Did you KNow" it made me cry.. I wish I could say why. Your both great together, weather building your own home, or helping your nephew Andrew with his Castle. Your family is amazing and so blessed. I admire all of you so much. I wish I could do even SOME of what you do. I have been watching Andrews channel for many years, when he first started clearning the land there and building the castle with some of his close friends help. Naturally Cody and Blue are there🙂, A Lot of work. Hope that you or Andrew will show us what it looks like all finished.?? Appreicate the videos and all ther hard work editing them and shareing as well. Appreicated.
@@danwheeler5130 That castle is going to be a lot more comfortable to live in once all that insulation goes in behind all the framing you're installing :)
You two are inspiring to other folks getting up in years. As well as to young folks with your work ethic. No wonder Andrew hired you, he sees kindred spirits! 😁One thing: your Ms W wearing open-toed sandals on a jobsite containing [sharp] steel materials??
Great stuff Dan. To save time on pinning the short pieces on the ceiling, get a used hilti battery pin gun. No drilling, just shoot the pins. I just picked one up, pretty slick unit.
I hope Andrew gets an electrical crew in there to install recessed lighting, more receptacles, etc. and that they run EVERYTHING in conduit. If you're gonna do it, do it right. Future accessibility is key. (I'm assuming that the insulation will be a closed cell spray foam) It's all looking GOOD, though, Dan! Nice work.
@@danwheeler5130 - awesome! Dimmer switches all around! I wonder if he'll put any kind of flooring down. I understand it would take the heat with dogs, but maybe something super-durable would work.
@@danwheeler5130, cool. Watched "closing in the shed building" today. That property is looking better and better all the time! Thanks for your videos and all the hard work you two have put in.
I’m thinking more along the lines that a nice girl isnt going want to live in a place she cant hang pictures. KWIM? And, living in the woods like he does,he has a valid point. Ours is brick, with a metal roof and all our storage is metal for that reason.
25:25 In my current business, I use a lot of carbide tipped drill bits. I bought a small Bench Grindr JUST for sharpening bits (A little cheapy) AND put the Green Soft Wheel Carbide on one side, and left the stock wheel on the other. I've sharpened lots of bits on the hand mini grinder, but it's SO much nicer with a real bench grinder.!! :) Even though I work by myself 99% of the time? ... I still put a label on it "For Drill Bits ONLY!" to remind me. LOL

4:43 Right!! as soon as I saw the note, I remembered how it was set up!! :) That would be a PAIN to weld Overhead, Galvanized, Thin, and the concrete sucking all the heat away! ... 3 seconds to drill a screw! :) Excrement placement to where the concrete is the thickest!
And I love the privacy. Its the one thing we dont have enough of here. I wish we had more acreage. We have 5. Andrew was smart to get 20.(and then bought the other piece which is even better! Lol
Oh I'm sure y'all go through a bunch of drill bits eh? Get real good at sharpening them too! Metal metal everywhere! Good work y'all love the music as well!
I find it kind of weird that Andrew would want nonflammable construction but then choose flammable spray foam insulation over nonflammable rockwool insulation.
The job REALLY calls for a perfect Air (or vapour) Barrier, otherwise moisture will collect, on the inner surface of the impermeable outer steel sheathing. I cant imagine anything BUT foam to do the job properly. AND .. there is Fire Retardant Foam too, (they use Foam to literally to FIREPROOF, structural steel in most high rise buildings for example.) ... but regular foam is fine and up to code here, It is NOT as flammable as most people think . You can hold a torch to it for a minute or two, (on the face) and after you shut off the torch?? It self extinguishes, when it does burn it burns slower than wood for example.
If the metal structure is engulfed in enough fire to light the spray foam, you've got much bigger problems than insulation and rock wool certainly isn't going to save you from cooking alive if you don't get out 🤷♂️
Insulation technology has improved to where there are new fireproofing spray foams designed to resist ignition and prevent the spread of flames. I am sure Andrew knows about them.
I don’t know about zipping screws threw the exterior walls water will definitely finds its way in threw them screw holes should of welded angle to the interior and used that to screw into for bracing the studs
I think this is a very bright idea for andrew before you spend money for your next castle why dont you transform first the interior of this existing castle look like castle? or five star hotel .shout out from im a fan from philliphines
Dan has been a builder most of his life. Everything he ever does is built to code…..just as the castle is…..this is not his first rodeo.👍👍👍 keep the faith.
I just hate those containers it’s so much more work to get them in shape for any kind or real use. You can build stuff from scratch better and cheaper and the right size.
Here because of Andrew. AC has been so generous in helping new RUclipsrs. And thank you Dan for making AC’s castle more comfortable.
Great work and your wife's song was really nice! 👍🏾

Beautiful music guys! And well done on the building aswell! :)
Enjoyed the lovely and experiential hymns by MS W that goes with your labor intensive work.
Dan, your approval on Andrew's door means a lot to me, thxs for sharing...
You should look at Andrew’s spiral staircase build
I like allbthe angles and ups and downs in the castle makes it very different and I think Andrew likes that .

Nice work, guys... and gal 😀
hey Paul way cool thanks for watching
The reverse chicken run is pure gold!

The good thing about this project is that Andrew can incorporate everything he's learnt from this castle, into castle 2.0.
He could simply read a book about steel contruction and make it right on V1.0... but where's the fun in that?
Looks great . a lot of work
thanks
Ooo... Andrew discovered that steel has poor thermal insulation!😁
He has always said the cold didn’t bother him as much as worrying about a wood structure burning down

only flammable if it's left uncovered .

You can hold a torch to it for a minute or two, (on the face) and after you shut off the torch?? It self extinguishes, when it does burn it burns slower than wood for example.
It’s probably a lot cheaper. And it’s not like you need it to be fireproof. There’s nothing that can burn.
If the metal structure is engulfed in enough fire to light the spray foam, you've got much bigger problems than insulation and rock wool certainly isn't going to save you from cooking alive if you don't get out 🤷♂️

Dan, I get that Andrew does not like wood. But does the steel not make a thermal bridge? This defeats the purpose, doesn't it?
Yes it does.

most of the screws do not go to the outside and the ones that do get cut off and caulked and then the sprayfoam
