100% agree, I lubed it up checked the screws and my word... it went around that track as if it's life depended on it! ❤
Yes.. pretty good car for sure!
Love my NSR 917K double-fin Martini LeMans winner. Some of these 917s are amazing and some, for some reason, can be finicky. You wouldn't think so with an NSR, but as we know...keep tuning till it gets there. Nice quick review Marty!
Thanks man!
Thanks for sharing 🏁🏁🏁 Getting ready to unbox mine🏁
Sweet!!! Enjoy!
Yeah, I wasn't going to bother (not a 920) but thanks to you last week I have one coming now :) Others have mentioned swapping out the guide for a deeper one. The standard guide on NSR IS quite shallow. Aside from that you know you are oversteering and my view would be to knock some weight off the front and touch a bit on the back (better overall balance?) and just try that? Great car. In France the 'hippy' cars translated as 'psychadelique' - there were a lot of things being tested out back in 1970 that we wouldn't dream of 'touching' today!
Thanks Darren. Some of the over steer is blamed on me.. driving and filming at the same time 😂 I put some weight up front because the nose was hopping a bit.. I will try moving that weight back and see how it performs. Thanks for the tips my friend!
G'day Marty great review 😂😂 awesome car
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks Rhys!
Marty, I was editing my newest video last night at 3 PM when your video popped up. I went to sleep soon after dreaming of a pink pig and now I think I’m gonna have to get one. Haha😂
I don’t think you will be disappointed.
Love it Marty
Awesome 👏
Thanks Chris👍 it is a stunning car. Really love the livery.
Nice video Marty. I'm holding out on this pig iteration for one of the hippy martini liveries later in the year. All the 917 nsr's are so nice to drive. But then again that is why I keep picking up NSR classics. Keep up the great work.
Good choice! I lan to pick one or both of them up S well
Nice one Marty :)
Thanks Dave. I know it is not a car of your particular taste.. but it would be great to see a vintage can am car run some laps on your track 👍
Another great video, Marty! Good luck with the additional tuning efforts.
Thanks John. I think it will get quicker after the motor breaks in. Maybe a different guide so I can drive it into the corners a little harder.. we will see.
VERY NICE! My has been baseline tuned, SI guide, better tires, no weight yet. Because of the weather and being back to work I still have not got a chance to run it yet....the downside of the backyard slot caring. I do have both Salzburg 917K on preorder. This is my first twin tail NSR, so it will be interesting to see how it compares in the corners to the 917KH's. Thanks for another enjoyable video.
Chris, it is a great looking car and will be a solid runner with the tires and tuning. Yes, weather the past week hasn’t been great for outdoor slot car action for sure.
That car looks great!!!!
Agreed Danny!
Hi Marty , I love your recordings, I learned a lot, you're a great inspirator in order to setup my Slot It and NSR cars on my Carrera track, unfortunatelly we do not have acces Quick Slicks, our scenery is a bit different in Holland, are there any parts you're missing in the States which you would like to have ? Greetings from The Netherlands !
I do not think silicone tires are as popular in the UK? Thank you for watching my channel! We are very fortunate in the States to have a lot of choices for cars and parts. Cheers from the USA!
Looks like just a fun car.
It’s not my fastest car, but after I added weight it was really locked into the slot and was a lot of fun. I added 6 grams. 2g behind the guide, 4 in front of the motor. Bonus.. it’s looks amazing on the track.
Wow, that's smoking hot! 🔥🔥
Pete… she is beautiful!
Does the material of the guide (that enters the slot) affect lap time ? Example: maybe a teflon guide glides better ?
I have not tested different materials or even any lubrication like graphite. Would be interesting knowledge.
Thanks for the videos Marty ... always appreciative! Curious what after market tires fit this car?
I put a set of Super Tires 1403’s…silicones
Thanks so much!
Marty , I need to get that livery of the 917. Being new to Carrera, do I need to purchase Carrera chips even if other brands are considered digital? Purchased the NSR gulf 917, wanted to see what it could do on the track. Noticed, as soon as I got it on the track it took off without using the controller. Wasn’t able to adjust speed, which made me question the chip issue. Thoughts?
NSR cars are not digital. They are analog. A digital track works different than an analog track. the polarity is opposite. When you place an analog car on a digital track.. it will shot off backwards at full speed. You will need to install a chip into the NSR. I would recommend a FT Slotteknik chip for Carrera digtital. There are many install videos out there.
Hi Marty how many meters is your track, and what voltage are you running on.
I am just short of 30 meters and I run at 14 volts.
Can you tell me what silicon tires you are using and the tire size? Thanks
Larry, Super Tires 1402
@@twolinesslotcars thanks Marty
Awesome video! I recently picked up a Martini Livery 917k from the 1971 Spa 1000km, it looks amazing! I also wanted to ask how did you get the magnet out of yours? I’ve been having a bit of trouble getting it out of mine and I’m afraid I’m gonna damage the chassis haha.
The Martini is sweet! Yes, I was able to push the magnet out from the bottom. Should pop right out. Thanks Will!
Wanna get into different brands besides Carrera. Only 2 compatible? All others need to chip and make some adjustments correct Marty? Also no analog for me. Keep up great content.
Frankie, with the right chip, any car can run Carrera Digital. The Carson chip makes it easy to run Scalextric and Pioneer that have the DPR door in the chassis on Carrera Digital. The FT Slottechnik chips and MPL chips are easy to install in any other brand. SlotIt has a chip specifically for Carrera digital for their cars. I hope this helps.
@twolinesslotcars Thanks Marty much appreciated. So gotta ask, what is best brand you have run?
Does it smell like bacon, that car was cooken !!😅
😂😂 it will get better
A slot car is defined by its chassis, not its body.
Agreed. The body does impact eye test. 😊
