  • How did Mandalorians become so skilled at hunting Jedi? For centuries, the Mandalorians launched crusades against neighboring planets. Their goal was not to rule, they were just really good at military tactics and they enjoyed fighting. Their conquests eventually brought them to the attention of the Galactic Republic, which had to take action almost 4,000 years before the Battle of Yavin.

But Republic troops were no match for the war-hardened Mandalorians and the Jedi joined the conflict. At first, the Mandalorians struggled against the Jedi’s Force powers, but they quickly developed tactics and technology to counter them, such as upgrading and equipping their armor with flamethrowers, containment ropes and even missiles. They also created the jetpack in order to attack the Jedi in unexpected ways and to quickly gain distance for their ranged weapons when the Jedi got in close for a lightsaber strike. Despite becoming the galaxy's best Jedi fighters, they lost the war, and the catastrophic final battle left their home planet a lifeless desert.

Funny thing, the Mandalorians probably would have won if the Jedi council went to war with them. The Mandalorians even had strategies in place for dealing with specific Jedi Masters who might take command. But the Jedi council refused to act, so a badass renegade Jedi Knight no one had heard of led the charge, and he proved to be a brilliant military tactician who crushed the Mandalorians before defeating their leader in single combat.

What's ironic is that in the Old Republic Mandalorian wars (revan era), it was their mastery of killing Jedi that was their downfall.
They held the Republic to the standard of Mid level soldiers, which was an accurate prediction. But when hearing that their leader was a Jedi and he was new to the war, they tried anticipating Jedi Tactics. However Revan didn't use Jedi tactics. He used high level Soldier tactics, which the Mandalorians were caught off guard by. By the time that they realized how Revan was thinking and planning, they had lost too much ground and too many soldiers. There was nothing they could do to stop him. Mandalorians always learn from their mistakes, and this was a helluva lesson for them. Never take an opponent at face value.

Revan was not compassionate. He would ignore hostages to take key military targets. He would kill surrendering Mandalorians anyway, under the knowledge that they never surrender. His Jedi specifically wore armor to counteract kinetic weapons so slugthrowers didn't work very well. They went from fighting Jedi to essentially fighting force sensitive soldiers.

Mandalor's destruction happened like 3000 years later, as the Republic attacked them for daring to tax the trade lanes that they protected during the Hundred Years Darkness.
The Republic, having rebuilt after the Ruusan Campaign, was disarming, and wouldn't tolerate the existence of any other well armed nation state. The Mandalorians, on the other hand, had been keeping the whole damn Rim alive by enthusiastic pirate hunting, while the Republic burned and lost so much infrastructure that they couldn't reliably supply ammunition to the Army of the Light.

Besides, you'll need more than a few movies to elaborate on this period, especially considering that Revan and Malik play integral roles, add that onto the fact that their turn to the dark side is manufactured by Darth Vitiate. Stupendous Wave has some good summaries and Star Wars Theory does too. For context, Revan is probably the most interesting and alluring Star Wars character that was never part of the trilogies, Clone Wars or Rebels series. In other words: the most interesting legends character. Basically the guy who invented the Rule of Two but never institutionalised it, then Darth Bane finds Revan's holocron centuries later and learns about the Rule of Two and he is the one who establishes the Rule of Two. You could say that in this way, Revan was Bane's master. See what I mean? Disney would butcher all of this, and this is just breadcrumbs compared to the whole dish.

Final battle didn't have as much effect on Mandalore as it did on Malachor. Malachor V suffered the most, as it was completely destroyed using the Mass Shadow Generator. This created a wound in the Force itself, also causing those left there to be consumed by it. Darth Nihilus and the Exile are both examples of what happens when one survives Malachor. The Exile however, cut himself/herself off from the Force, whereas Nihilus was consumed by the Force, and was nothing but an empty shell that feeds on it.

Meanwhile slug guns existed and were proven to be effective against jedi. Couldn't they have had a sidearm along with their fancy blaster?

Mandalorian weapons in the old republic (no longer canon) lore used blasters that had a physical slug enveloped inside an energy beam. Worked reasonably well against most targets.

If this wasn't just made up then I don't think any mandalorian would beat a Jedi lmao, none of the tactics and tech listed here would help at all against the force

Fun fact; they can’t deflect fire with a lightsaber though.
Edit: A skilled Mandalorian could beat a Jedi, but it’d be difficult.

By itself directly, no they’d lose, but bc the can constantly use different weapons and keep switching, it’d be enough to keep them distracted from using the force

Most Jedi arent like Obi-Wan or Mace though. Your rank and file Jedi would die in droves to battle droids, nevermind Mandalorian veterans

We saw Jango pick apart a Jedi in the Clone Wars movie, Jedi are not invincible, and can be caught off guard like anyone else. I agree on average tho a decent Jedi wrecks the average Mando

    • @mcflyingfury
      @mcflyingfury Год назад +2

Against Sith? Definitely not. But keep in mind the Jedi don’t tend to think of the Force as a tool or weapon. They don’t force choke, force rend, force lightning, or force crush people. They only have defensive powers + telekinesis. Also, the Jedi began training Soresu much more during the clone wars. Before that, your average Jedi wasn’t super proficient at deflecting blasters, let alone slugs 😈

I still don't know why tf the Jedi never just yeeted them against a wall or some sharp objects with the force.
Definitely plot armor for the story to not make Jedi as overpowered as they should be.

That's new canon, this video is about Old Republic legends lore. Honestly the worst thing Disney/LucasArts has ever done was make the Old Republic lore non-canon, it was so vastly better than the ST and honestly the PT as well.

@@Naraku-no-Hana-WE I agree but only to an extent, Kotor 1 and 2 are the best star wars media to ever come out, plain and simple, but swtor and it's book treated kotor characters terribly, I'd rather have gotten kotor 3 to finish the amazing story, but swtor did add some cool stuff
