Whether or not he has his FAA certification is irrelevant to whether he's making money off the videos. Some of his drone shots were in violation of FAA drone rules, yes. But they were in violation regardless of whether he was making money off the videos. You don't get to break the rules just because you don't make money off the videos.

I live in the UK so sometimes I am in bed anyway before they come out :) Not to bring science into this, but I was told that you should avoid moving images, (TV / video) before sleep because it wakes some part of the brain up, so I usually listen to some music :)

Saw you comparison video which I thought was great, but was disappointed with the soft focus of the Mavic. BUT! I just saw a recent video where they show how to use the focus system and wow it seems to sharpen it up! It would have been good to see what you could do with! hopefully DJI will send you a production version 😎
Casey didn't focus it properly in his other videos. Look up "Michael Shainblum DJI Mavic 4k test footage" and you can see how good the image quality is, honestly nearly on par with the Phantom 4.

Well a $1000 dollar done is a toy. $14,000+ cinema drones are not.. Which is what I fly for shoots. Also a drone that small falling would cause less damage than a golf ball or baseball. but I don't see anyone crying on line when a $5.00 baseball takes out a $500 windshield or $1000 french bay window.

Not exactly more "accurate", but rather another microcosm. As a claw hammer has points at both ends of it. Also the claw will not crush, under impact, and absorb some of the energy that is being exerted. The psi of the collision could change dramatically depending on where it made contact.

How did you manage to turn off the Return to Base function *and* shut down the controller *and* not register it with the FAA *and* not have the required FAA ID on it that would allow it to be returned to you? You shouldn't be allowed near drones. You break them, fly them illegally, and manage to defeat all the functions they have inbuilt to stop you losing them via OOR/signal loss failures.

You have never heard Casey's motto on equipment use. If he was always careful with it he'd never be able to conveniently get the shot. He prides convenience over the safety of the equipment because he wants to be able to get the shot when he can. It's why he used to strap his Phantom 4's to his backpack out of the case. But you misunderstand, most of the cameras he breaks and drones he breaks are paid for by him at the store. They're not cheap, but he wants to get the good shot as conveniently as possible.

Ah, I'm jealous of you being able to travel all over the place. I love the feeling of hotel hopping from place to place and always being on the move. It's nice to have a home base but travel just feeds my soul. The airport hustle and bustle. The plane. The minor anxiety before leaving. The ritualistic hello and goodbye to the hotel room. The feeling of just being out of your normal location and routine. It's intoxicating.
Casey I've crashed mine on day 2. I actually posted a video of how mine flew and crashed into a tree. Not sure if you had the same issue as I did. I couldn't control mine with the RC at a certain point. I've been working with DJI to analyze my logs. Hope they sent you a new one.

a youtuber serpentza mention about mavic running into some quality control issues after the initial batch of the production. one of those is about the user have to manually calibrate the sensor which will act as some nevigation if the drone were to lost the gpr position.
I just realized something. Unless he had two cameras set up. Casey had to climb that fence at the begging at least 4 times. One to get over to set up camera. Again to get back over then again to get the shot. Then one more time for the shot from behind.
this is the reason he won an award, when you look at any episode properly and what went behind making it, you get to appreciate good artists and the effort they put into it
yeah, I've noticed that for a while now. Can you imagine if you were hanging out with him? Let's leave.. "okay, np. I have to walk in & out of the room 4 times to get every angle for my vlog". Most of the time he's by himself. But I wonder what people think when they see him do something 2-3 times over and over again when they randomly see him on the streets or hotel. I was thinking about that too, maybe he just records "road shots" previously, and then puts them in the part where he´s on the taxi, so it looks like its from that moment, while it was actually like half an hour before that? idk, that´s how I would do that.

Unfortunately fly aways happen. My phantom 4 was gone on Sep 24th contacted DJI couple of days after; until now Oct 12th. no data analysis provided or results. They are so slow in terms of costumer service or i'm just one of the few victims? Calgary snowed already probably the drone that flew away is unusable...
Sorry about your drone! Their customer service is a total joke, and there's no number to call to speak to anyone. Live chat, or email, if you call and talk to tech support you get someone with rough english who tells you you need to go online to the chat...had to cancel my Mavic order because the shipping address got somehow changed at checkout (not what I typed in, but the billing address had to be right for my card to go through...), but they refused to correct the address.

I lost signal /connection with my P4 however, it remained in mid flight untill I could retain signal again, At the same time, I discovered an abandoned skate/bmx park in the middle of nowhere. Luckily, I was able to capture it on video, on my channel. Sorry to hear about your situation

Not exactly more "accurate", but rather another microcosm. As a claw hammer has points at both ends of it. Also the claw will not crush, under impact, and absorb some of the energy that is being exerted. The psi of the collision could change dramatically depending on where it made contact.

The drone is gone? How did you manage to turn off the Return to Base function *and* shut down the controller *and* not register it with the FAA *and* not have the required FAA ID on it that would allow it to be returned to you? You shouldn't be allowed near drones. You break them, fly them illegally, and manage to defeat all the functions they have inbuilt to stop you losing them via OOR/signal loss failures.

You have never heard Casey's motto on equipment use.
If he was always careful with it he'd never be able to conveniently get the shot. He prides convenience over the safety of the equipment because he wants to be able to get the shot when he can.
It's why he used to strap his Phantom 4's to his backpack out of the case. But you misunderstand, most of the cameras he breaks and drones he breaks are paid for by him at the store. They're not cheap, but he wants to get the good shot as conveniently as possible.
+Soham He is right though. Casey would treat his stuff better if he wasn't just given it for free. Then again half this stuff is probably just shit he does to have interesting stuff in the vlogs.

Ah, I'm jealous of you being able to travel all over the place. I love the feeling of hotel hopping from place to place and always being on the move. It's nice to have a home base but travel just feeds my soul. The airport hustle and bustle. The plane. The minor anxiety before leaving. The ritualistic hello and goodbye to the hotel room. The feeling of just being out of your normal location and routine. It's intoxicating.

Casey I've crashed mine on day 2. I actually posted a video of how mine flew and crashed into a tree. Not sure if you had the same issue as I did. I couldn't control mine with the RC at a certain point. I've been working with DJI to analyze my logs. Hope they sent you a new one.

a youtuber serpentza mention about mavic running into some quality control issues after the initial batch of the production.
one of those is about the user have to manually calibrate the sensor which will act as some nevigation if the drone were to lost the gpr position.

I just realized something. Unless he had two cameras set up. Casey had to climb that fence at the begging at least 4 times. One to get over to set up camera. Again to get back over then again to get the shot. Then one more time for the shot from behind.
this is the reason he won an award, when you look at any episode properly and what went behind making it, you get to appreciate good artists and the effort they put into it

yeah, I've noticed that for a while now. Can you imagine if you were hanging out with him? Let's leave.. "okay, np. I have to walk in & out of the room 4 times to get every angle for my vlog". Most of the time he's by himself. But I wonder what people think when they see him do something 2-3 times over and over again when they randomly see him on the streets or hotel. I give him so much credit for not caring what people think. I could never talk into a camera I'm holding myself in front of others. Or at least it would take me a while to get used to it.

Being irresponsible and unnacountable for some kinda serious stuff with flying/crashing drones in dangerous places which not only could go badly and cause injury, but negatively affects the drone/rc hobbyist/racing global community.
Maybe people who don't know how to use products shouldn't get advance access to them. Just a thought.

Unfortunately fly aways happen. My phantom 4 was gone on Sep 24th contacted DJI couple of days after; until now Oct 12th. no data analysis provided or results. They are so slow in terms of costumer service or i'm just one of the few victims? Calgary snowed already probably the drone that flew away is unusable...
Sorry about your drone! Their customer service is a total joke, and there's no number to call to speak to anyone. Live chat, or email, if you call and talk to tech support you get someone with rough english who tells you you need to go online to the chat...had to cancel my Mavic order because the shipping address got somehow changed at checkout (not what I typed in, but the billing address had to be right for my card to go through...), but they refused to correct the address.
I've been trying to decide whether or not to buy a Mavic. Your reaction to it's loss just convinced me to buy one. LOL!

I lost signal /connection with my P4 however, it remained in mid flight untill I could retain signal again, At the same time, I discovered an abandoned skate/bmx park in the middle of nowhere. Luckily, I was able to capture it on video, on my channel. Sorry to hear about your situation
