They aren't exactly your classic ring of 10 but they do most definitely sound better outside, in the ringing chamber they are immediately above your head hence the clonking. People say they are tough to ring but I think they're some of the best-going bells I've ever rung on.
it is a bizaare sound, probably something to do with the bells being literally just above your head! They sound rather better outside! They handle very well though.
@SrWilson3s Longbridge Deverill, East Hagbourne and Swindon Village are examples of you being wrong - they go awfully!! All very low draught and all very difficult to ring!! More responsive maybe, but in many respects I prefer a longer draught ring!!
if anyone of you bellringers say to me to bugger of i will tell the to throw you in jail i have had enough of this behavior are we clear if i see any more comments of this type i will ask some of you to quit bellringing
Nikos Podas Who do you think you are big boy? Going to get upset about some comments. You can’t ask anyone to leave bell ringing, but we can ask you to piss off. Oh and yes, you should be the one buggering off from bell ringing, but oh wait you’re not even a ringer. Bye bye Nikos Podas, if that’s even your real name.
I have only been there once and was glad that I made the effort to go outside to listen for a bit
They sound much better outside and are very good for such a mix of old bells.

I'm irnging here later tonight.. actually looking forward to the experience!
The last time I was there someone went up to the belfry through the trapdoor and I must say with the door open they sounded infinitely better.

I have rung here if you pull straight on the bells near a beam they go fine.
Mr King is on the 9th.
@1982Rossini Yes I have!
why are they challenging to ring? does it have anything to do with that clunky sound in the background?
@SrWilson3s I dont like massive long drafts e.g Cricklade but I hate really short ones like Oakdale, Poole
Has the tenor been rung up wrong?
Hello
Why do ringers have little carpets?
And what is the function of the sally?
Romeo Dell'Era the sally is for the hanstroke and the carpet has the bell number on it
