Thank you for your video mate, Very informative especially the detailed photos of the movement and the comparison with the original side by side. With your help I found out that a local freelance resseller try to sell a fake seamaster.
You can still buy a fake and work towards a gen IMO. But to each his own - I totally understand why people would hate the idea of getting a fake. Also some people prefer a nice collection of 6-10 watches as opposed to a single gen 🤷🏻♂️ I have a gen Tissot le locle which people buy fakes of which I find a little funny. But hey I don’t look down on it.
Actually that is the nice thing about Omega featuring mainly display casebacks these days: it makes it extraordinarily easy to spot a fake. This movement isn't a clone of the 8800. It is just a Chinese clone of an ETA 2824 with a faux decorated plate sitting on top. And, while well done, is still fake. The "escapement" and full bridge that sit on top are totally fake and inoperable. This is an older one that doesn't even have the mainspring retention screw on the lever, though, the newer ones do. Regardless, in either case, you can still see the real escapement underneath, as it is just a standard Swiss Lever, NOT a co-axial. Very few replica houses actually replicate an in house movement (I believe there is a Rolex Daytona super clone that does). The majority simply use a Chinese manufactured ETA clone, and I am aware of no one who has ever cloned an Omega co-axial escapement, so you can always see the standard Swiss lever under the faux bridge.
nah the fact that he's blatantly re-uploaded it makes me think he's gotten assurances from RUclips. Word on the street is, it was a fake-watch distributor that was copyright striking all the videos that show you how to spot a fake. Perhaps someone real at RUclips has gotten involved and turned the algorithm off.
I came across a 2020 Seamaster Diver 300 from a private seller. Watch was pre-owned and at reasonable price. What struck me as odd was that the seller claimed it was purchased from an AD but the warranty card wasn’t dated by them.
I think these watches are so expensive, that if anything is off, you just walk away. I would bet nearly nothing compares the the pit in one’s stomach, once you’ve been ripped off. Walk on by….
My mom owns 4 Omega Watches. She bought them from legitimate authorized dealers/jewelry stores, but not direct from Omega stores. Only one has the date on the warranty card. 🤷🏼♀️. We bought matching watches one time, and hers didn’t have the date on the warranty card, but mine did. Chances are that it was an AD that didn’t put the date on the card and it was real. But if you don’t feel comfortable without the date input I completely understand. Just sharing my experience.
I appreciate this video, this is the first time I’ve really seen some striking differences and been able to pinpoint the differences before they were shown. I’m about to own a Seamaster, most likely 300 heritage or the planet ocean 39mm, and I don’t want to end up with a replica. Any other tips would be appreciated 🙏
Buy the seller, not the watch If you can't find any information about the dealer, NEVER buy from him. Not even with papers and a box. Even if you think you are prepared, there is a chance that you are unable to spot a fake, especially if you never owned that watch before.
I don't have any interest in fake watches, so I didn't bother watching this the first time it went up. Glad I caught it this time though, actually super educational!
Damn it Adrian! Now I want a Seamaster in addition to the Aqua Terra. I'm gonna need a second job now. Thanks a lot... Also, be Careful this might get taken down by RUclips. They've been doing stupid stuff like that to others. Love your content, keep it up.
@@gazzer92 well it was last year there was a big Australian RUclips channel that out of nowhere got deleted for showing some replica watches and other channels got videos deleted. I don't know if it has changed now, but haven't heard anything dramatic. I know it's a fine line, but you could argue that a popular german brand like Steinhart makes a lot of Rolex look a like, but they don't get sued or banned. Amazon also sells plenty of Rolex/ Omega rip offs , so I think the watch community was shocked they got targeted , they just love and discuss watches.
The mental gymnastics expressed within this video in favor of one omega over the other omega are truly jaw-dropping. The amount of emotional expression contained herein is primarily against a watch instead of for a watch. One gets the impression the video was made for the express purpose of belittling one seemingly identical watch rather than praising the other. This badly weighted emotional release began with the cardstock packaging. Yes, the box. I personally have never seen anyone wear a watch box, perhaps watch snobs hold watch box shows - LIKE THIS ONE - in convention halls on 5th Avenue in New York city. I wouldn't know.
There is a positive side to fakes that you didn’t mention………..if you tell your ‘other half’ that the new watch you just bought yourself is a fake……..they won’t ask too many awkward questions 🤪 My wife is ALWAYS amazed at the quality of my ‘knock offs’ (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) 😂😂😂
I have to do this with my mum whenever I buy new sneakers or jackets, I just say they're replicas from China. Avoids the reaction I'd normally get otherwise

A great video. Completely agree, always purchase the real deal, you are only fooling yourself wearing a fake. Most people don’t care what watch you wear. you wear a watch based in your own tastes and style 👍
Hi, I recently bought this Seamaster 300M from a London Luxury store, it arrives with the same Omega box as your fake one has. Could you simple tell I bought a fake watch due to this Omega Box? Thanks.
Great Video....Yeah you are absolutely right....even if you got a super clone that looks almost like the GEN it does not feel the same as you know yourself that you are wearing a fake.
There is a good chance, this video will be left alone. I don’t think it’s a simple algorithm issue, I believe there’s something more malicious happening. I’m glad you guys in the watch community are trying to get to the bottom of this. We support you.
The reason why I bought a fake GMT Master wasn’t because of the money, it was because it is impossible to get one and I’m not going to pay double to some sucker who got lucky. But it is true that it doesn’t give you anywhere close to the feeling that you have for the real thing and if you want rolex because of the quality, I don’t think there is a fake out there that will make you satisfied.
Thank god for these fakes, I have 2 real Rolex submariners as part of my collection but I wear a fake one daily because crime is a thing. I wear the real ones to events and such and fake ones everywhere else
That poor person doing the movement finishing on the plates on the fake watch deserves better. They are wasting their talent polishing up turd movements.
I've always been annoyed by the fact that most "nice" watches (i.e. nice designs) are either prohibitively expensive (30,000€ for a watch? seriously?) or unattainable (hello Rolex waiting lists), or both. What is so expensive about making a good looking watch, in a non-precious metal, without special complications? 50 grand for a Royal Oak Jumbo without a running seconds hand? Really? So when Tissot released their quartz PRX model for 350€, I immediately bought it. I recently upgraded it for 650€ with the automatic version. It's a gorgeous looking watch with good performance, and it doesn't need to be any more expensive than that. I love the AP after seeing it in person, but 50 grand is just silly money that I couldn't possibly justify even if I had it.
The new PRX is $700, I think? Why draw the line there? You can find some great autos for half that price. Why not buy an Orient for $175? Everyone has a limit afforded them by their bank account, desire or both. Yours and mine may be very different, but what we can agree on is that the PRX Powermatic is a great looking watch. I was going to buy one yesterday, but the AD was out of the blue dial. If you can, buy what you love.....
@@rouxbix9494 you're comparing a price ratio of basically 4:1 with a ratio of basically 100:1… The lines are not comparable by any means. Also, find me an Orient with a nice integrated bracelet and I'll consider it.
@@gcocatre The fact that you are applying a value ratio is exactly my point. Value is arbitrary. I could have said you could pick up a nice Timex for $15 that will tell the time more accurately than Your Powermatic and will look good by somebody's standards. So why spend the extra $675 on the Tissot? Because of its looks or bracelet style? Why did you upgrade from the previous quarts PRX? It has an integrated bracelet. Those decisions are subjective and once the decision becomes subjective, it becomes hard to argue "value" objectively. I just think where we each draw the line is personal and although I could/would never spend half a million on a RM, I understand why people do. Watch collecting has never been about practicality for me. The minute you buy your second watch, you are being impractical; I mean who needs two watches, you can only wear one at a time.
Excellent video on the morals of buying a fake watch, at the end of the day you only are fooling yourself , as you say work hard and towards the real thing, success wont only bring you watches but lots of other nice things to show off the fruits of your labour.
I have owned Omegas for more than 20 years and even worked with them for 15 years, trust me its super hard to tell the difference, its really a super pro who can spot them
@@Trig672How the hack you can't see the finish and the lack of the screw on the replica movement? The dial is laser shaped while on replica they are made like cheap cuts, the lume is crap on fake as well the quality is not there for 300,400 replicas yet..
Thanks so much for sharing. You seemed put off by the box, my speedmaster coaxial Chronograph just arrived in that same box directly from Omega in NJ. I was expecting the wood grained box and reached out to Omega about it... they haven't responded yet. Should I be concerned?
If you haven’t concluded this already, you most likely got a fake watch. Neither the Seamaster nor the Speedmaster comes in the box in this video. Sorry to deliver the bad news :(
@@HankTheTank23 It was real as I'd purchased it from Omega online, I returned it as I ultimately didn't like the watch. This Christmas looking box I guess was for the holidays...IDK but I'm good thx.
@@Neetabeeta1972 To be clear, I wasn’t trying to be rude. My apologies if it came across that way. I’m glad you were able to return the watch though because even if it was real (which I honestly still doubt), you would have been cheated out of the proper box. The box that came with my Seamaster is infinitely nicer than the one in the video. That said, I’m pretty sure the Speedmaster comes in a different box altogether.
If anyone is curious why he is reuploading it, I am pretty sure it is because "Just one more watch" had his channel deleted ( temporarily ) for showing fake watches, now that he was unbanned it is obviously safe to show fakes so thats why this video was reuploaded.
When i first originally watched the vid, my curiosity leads me to a rabbit hole of repilca forums. I can't believe it they fully replicated an omega movement. And I'm glad to report that it's mostly a modified chinese ETA 2824 made to look like an omega cal. 8800. So it'll beat at 4Hz unlike Omega's 3.5Hz. Even for the chinese replica makers, the co-axial escapement and the silicon hairspring don't make sense from an economic scale standpoint. From what i gathered, they only fully replicated some Rolex movement such as 3235 (with the same power reserve which is insane), a couple of Panerai, AP, and Patek calibres (usually ones without difficult complications. So be careful when you guys are shopping watches from these brands. TL;DR : no, you're not getting the same movement with this replica and you can forget about anti magnetism and the co-axial escapement.
Yep. The Omegas are all just decorated ETA clones. Recently a factory managed to copy the Rolex GMT movement to such an extent, that it is able to accept genuine Rolex parts as replacements. Absolutely bonkers.
Absolutely support your view on FAKE watches. And I am so happy you said this so forcefully. We are all watch lovers. And we all love watches from different price points. The fake is only ever a pale shadow of the real thing. So enjoy the reality of a watch, whichever price point it lives in. And we all need that special unobtainable or distant thing, to give us something to aim for. Thanks for your good work.
Wear the fake watch as a beater and real one for professional settings and events. You would be surprised how good the fake one is at taking abuse and still keeping time in the long run.
@Nigel Molesworth people who make comments like these have no self confidence and need a 'justification' for owning a replica. God forbid, they get caught wearing a replica and what is everyone going to think? At the end of the day, 99% of the people will not know whether the watch is a real or a fake. You should be buying any watch for yourself, unless you have some inferiority complex issues. These watches can be had for $5k US and I own one along with many other watches. My comment was actually coming from a practical use scenario and my own personal experience.
Instead of going the nuclear/flashy route that ppl suggest to destroy the watch, you could have a video with no speaking where you slowly take it apart. Would have the same vibe as those watchmaker restoration videos. And then maybe destroy the parts.
6:51 I don't agree with fully destroying it: something useful could still be made out of it. Here's my idea: why not give it to some watch restorer to take apart on video and show us what exactly goes inside one of these illegal replicas and then give the watch to an artisan watch maker to turn it into an alternative watch by re-using the parts, something that would look nothing like an Omega.
As an owner of a real new SMP300. These ‘clones’ are scary close to real thing in terms of appearance. In the end, you’re really just lying to yourself. My watches are a part of me and when I look at them, it reminds me how far I’ve come from my first Casio G-Shock when I was 8.
Tbh I wear my g shock more than my Rolex. I do agree with your point on only lying to yourself. Most people will know instantly if your wearing a fake anyway as they will have a good idea if you can actually afford to strap a 5k, 10k or 20k plus watch on your wrist.
@@Weakeyedominant id call you mad if you wore your Rolex more than your G-Shock. Unless you're a filthy rich bastard, wearing a Rolex all the time is pretty stupid as you'll put a lot of wear and tear on it. where as a G-Shock is a work-mans watch. I wear my CasiOak literally every day of my life at work.
@@Matt-bg5wg it is supposed to be a tool not something locked away in a safe. A know someone that has a gold Daytona and he wears that everyday. It's his normal watch that he wears to work or the bar or golf. If you owned a Bentley you wouldn't keep it in the garage and drive a Toyota just to keep the mileage down. The only people that would baby their watch like that are people that can barely afford it and are hoping to sell it. Rolex are not delicate watches that need to be treated with kid gloves. That's just my opinion.
Shotgun fodder like with the Rolexes was exciting. Skeet is big now with the Olympics so seems like a natural choice, but been done before. Taking to a reasonable depth (>100m) would be both useful as well as cathartic to see when the seals fail. Brayden’s comment about the furnace is a nice one also. Almost anything to remove it from circulation and send a message that it’s s…t. AND, agree with your comment on buying the watches you can afford. There are some great timepieces for under $1K (Tissot) which is not far off the price of a high-end fake Rolex: whereas the Tissot will hold it’s value and give years of enjoyment the fake has lost its value immediately, and there will always be a colleague that can pick out that it’s not the real thing.
That's VSF. ZF has the correct colour spring and is only 0.1mm thicker so very very difficult to call out in any situation with the naked eye. Impossible without a reference unless you know the exact placement of the screws in the movement.

I have a gen Tissot le locle which people buy fakes of which I find a little funny.

Thanks mate. 🙌🏻
I bought one with white dial/ black bezel directly from Omega’s boutique. It is amazing love the watch!!!!
How much?
If anyone is wondering about the box, it's actually for a ladies watch!
Congratulations on the 150k!

Buy the seller, not the watch
If you can't find any information about the dealer, NEVER buy from him. Not even with papers and a box. Even if you think you are prepared, there is a chance that you are unable to spot a fake, especially if you never owned that watch before.
I don't have any interest in fake watches, so I didn't bother watching this the first time it went up. Glad I caught it this time though, actually super educational!
Want a omega now and rolex before I'm 60 . But I'll end up having neither. (Just keeping it real) 💯
Fakes might be my only option.
Buying what I can afford and working towards what I want. Brilliant.
Damn it Adrian! Now I want a Seamaster in addition to the Aqua Terra. I'm gonna need a second job now. Thanks a lot...
Also, be Careful this might get taken down by RUclips. They've been doing stupid stuff like that to others. Love your content, keep it up.
Adrian you are living on the edge, playing with fire 🔥 after what happened to other watch channels lately. We are proud of you, we stand by you 100 %.
What happened to them
@@gazzer92 well it was last year there was a big Australian RUclips channel that out of nowhere got deleted for showing some replica watches and other channels got videos deleted.
Omega actually has used the smaller box with the ribbon, but I've only seen it with women's models.
Is it me, I couldn't tell if I saw someone wearing the fake!! Looks the same to me
The mental gymnastics expressed within this video in favor of one omega over the other omega are truly jaw-dropping.
Rigth. I also think Fakes can serve a good purpose of calling some brands out about their pricing. It can clearly be lower
30-40% with decent revenue.
One is an Omega, one isn’t
Might as well just use counterfeit money as well, what’s the difference, right? It looks the same
Send it to the hydraulic press channel and have them test the water resistance.
There is a positive side to fakes that you didn’t mention………..if you tell your ‘other half’ that the new watch you just bought yourself is a fake……..they won’t ask too many awkward questions 🤪

Wow so amazing ! Thanks for the advice 🙏🏻😊
Greetings from Ireland. How about finding someone with a vintage (steam powered) steam roller to drive over it.
Maybe something involving the element known as fire could be an interesting way to bring about the demise of the fake Seamaster?

"Will it blend?"
Test just how water resistant they are
Drop tests

Didn’t you have issues previously with RUclips because of fake watches ? Did they change policy
how about this scenario - i was given a watch as a gift, and it was stolen from my gym locker. Now i don't have the heart to tell the person it's gone. So i want to purchase a replica to replace it (I don't have the funds to buy a $5000 replacement.) In this case, am i in the wrong here?
Who gave you a $5k watch?
A great video. Completely agree, always purchase the real deal, you are only fooling yourself wearing a fake. Most people don’t care what watch you wear. you wear a watch based in your own tastes and style 👍
Hi, I recently bought this Seamaster 300M from a London Luxury store, it arrives with the same Omega box as your fake one has. Could you simple tell I bought a fake watch due to this Omega Box? Thanks.
That box is actually for the women's Seamaster models.
Great Video....Yeah you are absolutely right....even if you got a super clone that looks almost like the GEN it does not feel the same as you know yourself that you are wearing a fake.
Where did you get this
There is a good chance, this video will be left alone. I don’t think it’s a simple algorithm issue, I believe there’s something more malicious happening. I’m glad you guys in the watch community are trying to get to the bottom of this. We support you.
Drop it into molten steel. Recreate the ending of Terminator 2.
How fearless. Cheers Adrian!
That box is the OMEGA ladies' box, not just a completely random fake design
The reason why I bought a fake GMT Master wasn’t because of the money, it was because it is impossible to get one and I’m not going to pay double to some sucker who got lucky. But it is true that it doesn’t give you anywhere close to the feeling that you have for the real thing and if you want rolex because of the quality, I don’t think there is a fake out there that will make you satisfied.
Thank god for these fakes, I have 2 real Rolex submariners as part of my collection but I wear a fake one daily because crime is a thing. I wear the real ones to events and such and fake ones everywhere else
I want to put your grey nato strap on my blue Seamaster. Any thoughts on what the contrast would look like ? Anyone try this out yet ?
Are you selling your seamaster? let me know could be in the market for one
This is so scary and crazy how ,,good,, the fakes are nowadays 😞
That poor person doing the movement finishing on the plates on the fake watch deserves better.
They are wasting their talent polishing up turd movements.
It's actually just a clone of an ETA 2824, hardly a 'turd movement'
Beware of the POS movement. 😂
Saw this in a blog.
I think you’re missing the point of horology
@@leatt6136 which is what, spending as much money as humanly possible?
Omega uses that box with the red bow as a gift box for womens watches
Rolex make their watches much easier to replicate than others! No transparent caseback all of it done by machine etc!
So when we get name of the website? I myself want to the same thing and make sure is true.
Excellent video on the morals of buying a fake watch, at the end of the day you only are fooling yourself , as you say work hard and towards the real thing, success wont only bring you watches but lots of other nice things to show off the fruits of your labour.

Thanks so much for sharing. You seemed put off by the box, my speedmaster coaxial Chronograph just arrived in that same box directly from Omega in NJ. I was expecting the wood grained box and reached out to Omega about it... they haven't responded yet. Should I be concerned?

@@HankTheTank23 It was real as I'd purchased it from Omega online, I returned it as I ultimately didn't like the watch. This Christmas looking box I guess was for the holidays...IDK but I'm good thx.
@@Neetabeeta1972 To be clear, I wasn’t trying to be rude. My apologies if it came across that way. The box that came with my Seamaster is infinitely nicer than the one in the video. That said, I’m pretty sure the Speedmaster comes in a different box altogether.
That watch is for the ladies' Seamasters.
Fair comment I reckon. I can’t afford the Omega so I purchased a Ball Hydrocarbon Ceramic. Happy with that too.
Nothing wrong with fakes. Good to use use for a while then in drawer while you wear your new flavor in a few months. Buy 10 for the price of 1
My friend buys ton of fakes and something they all do is break on tge clasp the rivet always pops on and gets lost
If anyone is curious why he is reuploading it, I am pretty sure it is because "Just one more watch" had his channel deleted ( temporarily ) for showing fake watches, now that he was unbanned it is obviously safe to show fakes so thats why this video was reuploaded.
Exactly. None of the “commercial” channels like WatchFinder have had their videos removed. So I’m sure it’s just a troll reporting these videos.
This is what I was wondering. Glad I don't have to worry about this channel having future issues.
Weird cut at the end. What happened?
This video saved me. Thank you.
Best way to tell is the adjustment screw on the balance. Fakes don't have them...aside from the fact that the fake is God awful in all respects.

RUclips after seeing the title: how many times do we have to teach you watch nerds a lesson 🙄🧐🥴
Recreate the Spectre scene and use it as a grenade and blow it up
Wear the fake watch as a beater and real one for professional settings and events.
@@su3095 also not like anyone cares if you're wearing a replica or genuine 😂
Instead of going the nuclear/flashy route that ppl suggest to destroy the watch, you could have a video with no speaking where you slowly take it apart. Would have the same vibe as those watchmaker restoration videos. And then maybe destroy the parts.
Which factory was this fake?
Are they fake or augmented?
6:51 I don't agree with fully destroying it: something useful could still be made out of it.
Here's my idea: why not give it to some watch restorer to take apart on video and show us what exactly goes inside one of these illegal replicas and then give the watch to an artisan watch maker to turn it into an alternative watch by re-using the parts, something that would look nothing like an Omega.
Hey i got a question were did you get your nato strap?
They are my straps over at barkandjack.com 👍🏻

As an owner of a real new SMP300. These ‘clones’ are scary close to real thing in terms of appearance. In the end, you’re really just lying to yourself. My watches are a part of me and when I look at them, it reminds me how far I’ve come from my first Casio G-Shock when I was 8.
That's deep, nice
That box the fake came in is an actual holiday Omega box tho
What factory was this clone? Clean, ZF, VSF?
That's VSF.
ZF has the correct colour spring and is only 0.1mm thicker so very very difficult to call out in any situation with the naked eye.
Impossible without a reference unless you know the exact placement of the screws in the movement.
I liked your comments at the end. Totally agree
