I'm just grateful these songs were put down on tape. If they'd been lost it would've been another lost chapter of Australian history.
A chapter, that needs a book, to inspire and highlight to the youth the talent and originality we truly have

It would have been a crime against music to lose any of this Chain, Aztecs, Easybeats, Daddy Cool the Karma Police would have a field day dealing with the c*nts responsible for losing stuff like this. A real treat & one of the first songs I learnt in '79.

Just recently Aussie legend Matt Taylor performed to a small gathering at a farm house in northern NSW. And a damn good performance it was too!
This guy used to play regularly at the story bridge hotel in Brisbane. I was fortunate enough to see him play quite a few times.
I recently played this song to an accomplished musician friend. He went straight back to the home studio and the blues. It lit a fire in him. Thank you Chain.

hey mate, i took my dad to a gig in a house with chain it was a work shop and here was about 5 people my dad was so blown away.
i played harmonica with them and also blew them away .
Was the start of my future of music .

CHAIN '55TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION'

The originators of ‘Oz Blues’ (now considered the Grandfathers of Oz Blues), Chain, are coming back to Caravan in 2023 to celebrate their 55th Anniversary!
I grew up on this Aussie blues. Hard stuff

Worked on the door of bairs hotel when they played there back in the late 90s unforgettable
I remember seeing this guy Matt Taylor, Phil Manning and Chain, perform at a Student Concert at Preston Tech, early 70's, same bill as Lobby Lloyd & the coloured Balls, & Madderlake.Even mentioned on the old Melbourne Rock station 3XY.!

saw these guys on their 30th anniversary of 'towards the blues' & they were absolutely brilliant. Best of all, they still looked like wicked rockers. The best gig ive ever seen in oz

saw them last year 50th anniversary still same line up except the drummer is Trapper from Adelaide they still rock
saw them perform at Monash Student Hall in 1970, loved it all but especially My arse is black with Bourke street
Saw them at our school dance at Fawkner Tech in the 70's.
My boyfriend in the 70’s lived in Elizabeth St and their house backed onto Fawkner Tech and he went there too.

This was the first song I learned on the guitar. I had a version with a guitar solo on it, a live recording I think. 40 or so years ago.
Nice one. This riff has balls and the progression is circular- once you get going you can play it for hours.

I knitted a Black and Blue jumper when I was a kid, my first attempt but the front left side was jet black and the front right side was royal blue shade...same on the back.
