- While his brother, Councillor Doug Ford spoke at city council on Monday, Toronto Mayor Rob Ford made the motion of someone driving while drunk to Toronto Councilor Paul Ainslie
Note how Doug says 'Stop' and Rob immediately stops.

@@theadventuresofemily_ The world needs him now. The playfulness with new ideas and humanity and a sense of belonging is lost amongst most politicians. Suicide rates amongst children is rising, take ourselves so seriously to the point of suicide is a very dangerous perspective.
Political parties are so scared to veer off what the original parties intent leading a stalemate. Rob Ford was appropriate chaos inorder to reflect on ones actions and to laugh at ones actions as well and proceed on to new territory with less fear.

Good for Mayor Ford. The guy is owning up to his mistake(s). Toronto should embrace this guy. He's an honest politician. Who cares about his past, is he good for Toronto?

We care because his "past" isn't 20 years ago. It's been during his time as Mayor, while he has been in office, within the past year. And if you think he has been "owning up to his mistakes", you clearly haven't been following this story since May when Ford denied his crack use for 6 months.
He is the furthest thing from honest. Even his own brother, his biggest ally, admits Ford hasn't been "100% honest". I am so very confused by where you get your information from. Ford has lied extensively in his interviews and statements, just one example being that he stated Toronto had the "lowest rate of tax increase in North America." This is flat out not true and easily proved, as Windsor and many other cities had lower increases. He routinely lies. It shouldn't be allowed.
Finally, "owning up to your mistakes" doesn't make them less real. Pleading guilty in a court of law may get you a lesser penalty, but it doesn't make you innocent. It just means you've realized there's too much evidence against you to realistically have a likely chance of not being deemed guilty.

Actually, it's not about my moral code. Its about the criminal code of Canada and the fact that Ford routinely engages in illegal activity. How can we take a Mayor seriously who says he is against crime, drugs and gangs when he routinely calls these people his friends? And writes convicted criminals personal letters of reference on City of Toronto letterhead? Toronto is having a real issue with these matters and Ford clearly is sympathetic on the topic.
And how he performs as a Mayor itself is a disgrace. His typical day in office (if there is not a council meeting) seems to be "show up around 10:30am". Most people would be fired for this alone. He abuses his power by sending aides to run errands for him and his wife, to buy him alcohol, etc.
Finally, if you'd like to read up on Ford's actual accomplishments as a Mayor, they aren't that impressive either. In addition to this subway/LRT disgrace, he claims to represent "the little guy" however he denied wage increases in unions (often made up of "the little guy"). To add insult to injury, he then counted those "savings" as how he benefited the city.
Personal life aside, his politics are poor. And when you're a Mayor, your personal life is on the table when it includes illegal things.
