    I've had BPH for years and I recently discovered that when I get inflammation and I can't urinate usually around 4am, that if I take Naproxen or Alive I can then pee after about 45-minutes. That's incredible because before I discovered this, quite by accident on a bus trip, my options were often a trip to the ER for catheterization. No doctor has ever told me this as an emergency relief for a blocked bladder. I told my brother about it and he found it worked for him too and saved him a trip to the ER!

    Very good information but it's actually all antidepressants cause issues with prostate due to the effect of causing hormonal imbalance by increasing estrogen prolactin and cortisol, lowering testosterone. This includes ssri and snri antidepressants, many men will see brest growth and lactation from the use of these medications

    • @ricktharuler7911
      @ricktharuler7911 2 года назад

      If you stop taking antidepressants, do your hormone levels go back to normal? Or is it permanent?

    • @MIB-iy6qq
      @MIB-iy6qq 2 года назад +1

      @@ricktharuler7911 everyone is unique and so will respond to stopping antidepressants treatment at different rates, depending on age and lifestyle habits. Antidepressants need to be reduced very slowly due to dependence, the longer a person was on these meds then the slower the withdrawal time is required, in order to try manage side effects from dependence withdrawal, likewise the slower hormone balance will recover. Testosterone and estrogen are natural antidepressants in themselves, when just these two hormones are optimised a person will feel good and the body will be in balance, many people who suffer depression and anxiety have hormone imbalance as a contributing factor if not the cause itself. Antidepressant will increase prolactin and estrogen in men and women reducing testosterone, this can cause brest and prostate enlargement over time for both sexes, increasing the risks of brest and prostate cancer along with issues passing or holding fluids, Many men and women need to go on hrt or trt after or while on antidepressants treatment.

    • @ricktharuler7911
      @ricktharuler7911 2 года назад

      @@MIB-iy6qq I’ve been on ssri for 20+ years. If I would have known they would cause me problems in the future I would have stopped a long time ago 😫 now I feel like TRT is the only solution 😞

    • @MIB-iy6qq
      @MIB-iy6qq 2 года назад +1

      @@ricktharuler7911 TRT for men works fantastic and can be taken with ssri meds if needed, once established and hormone balance optimised on trt most men find they can slowly reduce antidepressants to the point they dont need them anymore, the same applies to wemen with hormones imbalance pre or post menopause. For wemen HRT is a life changer but again it's a matter of getting the right delivery method and dosage best suitable to the person.
      Lots of men and wemen are taking antidepressants for far too long and 20 years is far to long. The long term side effects from antidepressant use is clinically well known but not translated to the patient, instead these meds are described as well tolerated and benefits out weighing side effects, this information is incorrect and would be a very distorted view of reality when it comes to primary and secondary damage from these medications.

    Relieved that I have only been taking nortriptyline intermittently, rather than every day. I hadn't been told that it could aggravate BPH. Each time I go through a cycle of B.C.G. treatments for my bladder cancer I become all to well aware of the interplay between my bladder, my prostate and my anal canal. Even though I don't experience actual constipation, just the normal peristaltic impulses trigger a dual urgency in my bladder and my colon. I have mistakenly tried using nortriptyline to try to calm these impulses. Now I know better.

    What concerns me about all these pieces of advice is that we are unique and need observation and monitoring
    What is good for one person can be dangerous for another
    Don’t get sucked in by the “free advice” - there’s always a product at the end or a costly phone call to a consultant
    Turmeric is a good natural soother of inflammation
    But do search carefully
    as there are poor choices which are a waste of money
    Go for high quality - pure and high strength and not the usual store cheap versions

      I agree about "individuality" in terms of patient care. i would ask a health nurse about the heart care treatment appropriate to a 20 stone strong man and a ten stone marathon runner and would never
      get a straight answer to satisfy the question. The medicos love to "generalise" and have Big Pharma
      offering heaven knos how many market variations of "treatment"for them to try on the patient!

    I am suffering from mild BPH. I am taking Tamsulosin for this for the last 2 months. But now when I am going for physical contact, my semen is not discharging at all. Informatively, I have taken Solidosin for some days, but due to it's side effects I have stopped that.
    Please suggest me.

      My VA doctor recently prescribed Tamsulosin for my Urinary Disfunction/ From the very beginning I could no longer control when I would start to pee and couldn't stop the dripping afterwards. I'm 76 years old and I have always woken up in the morning with an erection..(That is when your body produces Testosterone) The Tamsulosin stopped that the very first day... I complained to the VA doctor and they are now giving me problems for refusing to follow Doctor's Orders !
      Funk the VA... They have Disrespected and Demeaned me for years... I will not allow them to take away my Manhood away from me like they try to take everything else !

    Statins worsen it. I got off my cholesterol medicine two weeks ago and I am peeing like a fire hose again, doubled or tripled the time between having to pee, and can actually pee without having to wait until things relax. Only thing I can figure after doing some research is the statin drugs inhibit the absorption of zinc and the prostrate requires zinc to be healthy.

      I just randomly stopped taking my High Chloresterol Meds Atorvastatin to see what would happen with my BPH symptoms and I was surprised that the very first night when I usually have to get up 3 or 4 times to pee...I only woke up once and I was surprised that I didn't even have to pee. Went back to sleep and woke up 4 hours later. First night I got a full night's sleep in 15 years !
      Now only getting up once a night to pee and feel much more rested.
