The M5 compared to this amazing V is like a comparison test of my previous ex: she's way heavier, bigger, more expensive and likes to emit fake sounds when you're really pushing it, yet somehow other men want her which is fine by me. I'll stick with the Caddy, thank you very much.
I'd get a Cadillac over a BMW anyday. I love the styling.
If you don't need the German cachet then go with Cadillac. Their new RWD sports sedans like the ATS and CTS handle just as well if not better than BMW. The only downside is the CUE infotainment system and no volume knobs. I would gladly take a near $100k Cadillac CTS-V over an M5 or M6 Gran Coupé. Cadillac is getting serious with going head to head with BMW M, Mercedes-AMG, and Audi RS.
I actually got the chance to drive the CTS-V recently and that car was AMAZING!!!! I think it's a better driving car than anything on the road, YES! I am throwing cars like M series, AMG's vette's and yes GTR's
The ultimate gentleman's vehicle! Aggressive and fast, but luxurious and practical.
+Jorge Cervantes dont forget utterly gorgeous (except for the perhaps too conventional rear end).
Steve, your face at 1:57 says it all about this car!
+Simon Thompson Yes, sir! Indeed it does.
+Simon Thompson -- Thanks for stating that, Simon. Would've said the same thing.
Great review Steve, you may actually be the first auto journalist to slam CUE, kudos!
+MultiRyan2112 i honestly like cue. It has some flaws, but they're not enough to make me buy a mercedes or bmw before this
At times like this, Steve is very happy with his chosen profession.
+pedrof830 You've got that right.
Great review and some really nice shots. Your enthusiasm is palpable.
+kjscoleman Thanks very much!
My only complaint about this car is.........It's not in my driveway! Gotta start playing the lottery so I can get this sexy machine!
i Bee Amazin OR I could hit the casino and get the money faster! I'm already working for it fool! By the time I get the money using my paychecks, the damn car will have been redesigned 10 times!! You must think I make 6 figures and I don't remember asking for your jive azz opinion anyway
I want this car, i want it, i want it...
Steve...All I can say is A..W..E..S..O..M..E..
Great review as always.
I want this car! I'm going to trade up to it from my 2014 V sport. In my opinion, Cadillac already caught up to the German cars.
STILL GOT that v sport? Any pics?
Personally I love double dual exhaust mmm sweet
Not a Cadillac lover myself....but dang they hit this out of the park. My sister has the XLR V and it can light up the rears in about a 1/2 second from a stop. Fun...but costly for the rear tires!
rocking the 2pac
Awesome review! I'm surprised to see the updated CUE system appearing to be working quite well in your video. Most reviewers still bemoan the lack of physical buttons and knobs, and rightfully so! But it's good to see Cadillac improving it! How was it throughout your experience with the CTS-V?
+Jamel Moore No problems to speak of, but I've driven a number of cars with it over the years so I think it's simply an experience issue (for the most part) for those who hate it. Once you get used to it, plus the addition of Apple CarPlay, you find it easier to navigate.
Excellent!
+Jamel Moore Thats because the other reviewers are using CUE wrong and putting too much pressure on the interface. Eventually, they feature something similar to Apple's Force Touch like on the 6s to solve the problem. Otherwise, the CUE system is great and looks very modern based on the time of year we are in.
been a while since ive heard you gush about a car like this, Steve. im pretty infatuated with it, too. you glanced over your CUE experience; has it been improved from older iterations?
+joner800 The integration of Apple CarPlay is the biggest improvement. I'm not aware of any other updates from the previous versions I've tested but I believe it comes down to living with it and experiencing it on an everyday basis. You get used to it. And I had no problems with its interface as far as the capacitive touch nor voice recognition. I like it better than BMW's setup and it's much richer. Plus, everyone glosses over OnStar but that service is a huge bonus in my book.
+TestDriveNow.com featuring Auto Critic Steve Hammes Makes sense. The graphics certainly look fantastic, but I know no one is a fan. Looked like response is fine from the video. Thanks for replying!
PS This is the first time I can recall YOU doing a burnout rather than your driver. You have too much fun!!
+joner800 It al depends on who I have to run camera!
For 2016 they updated cue with new software for easier use and they added another processor to speed things up, and apple auto and soon android auto will be an option as well
Are there side by side comparison video with the M5 out there? I wonder if the M5 has been overthrown
+boy638 The manual M5 was a disappointment for me.
+boy638 I will have to say the way it looks this beast seems like it is king.
+TestDriveNow.com featuring Auto Critic Steve Hammes will there be a manuel transmision offered like the old cts-v ?
How does this CTS-V compare to the BMW M5, Audi RS7 (do they make an RS6?) or Mercedes E63 AMG? (I might've gotten the numbers wrong with Mercedes nomenclature.)
+Billy Sou Didn't much care for the last M5 I drove, I took the RS7 for a quick spin a couple of years ago and the E63 AMG is amazing! I'll take a CTS-V and an E63 AMG S Wagon and call it a day ;-)
+TestDriveNow.com featuring Auto Critic Steve Hammes Ah, if only we had $200k+ lying around. ($91k for the Caddy and $125k+ for the Mercedes AMG)
+TestDriveNow.com featuring Auto Critic Steve Hammes
A friend of mine scoffed at me when I preferred the Cadillac CTS-V over the Corvette Z06. But the Caddy is at least $15k less.
I would take this over an M5 or E63. I hope the CT5 V lives up to the hype but I think the CTS-V has a more aggressive look.
No fins and it flies!
Not bad for an American car, but this car and Z06 have engine overheating problems. I don't recall a Benz or BMW having the same problems around tracks. Still have a long way to go to challenge the Europeans.
+AF A The LT4 in the CTS is a wet sump application whereas, in the ZO6 it is a dry sump because it needs to sit lower and more compact in the car. The wet sump sits higher in the CTS hence the hood scoop and has a lot more breathing room and air flow. Currently, their have been no reported overheating issues in the CTS. I would say this sedan is on par if not better than the M5, E63 rivals.
+Gerald Webb Right...if you order the crate engine it can be specified either way.
Coming from a farcelona fan lol cadillac killing bmw and mb
Nearly the same price as an escalade platinum.... Decisions decisions....
The length of your channel name is ridiculous. We don't care what your name is, no offense. We care about vehicles.
+Mr Bobby Brown What diff does that make? The reviews are informative and just the right length to cover all the important features of the cars he tests.
+Mr Bobby Brown Gotta' promote the brand...
+TestDriveNow.com featuring Auto Critic Steve Hammes I understand that, and realize it's important, but it's redundant. "Auto Critic" isn't needed, we know you are one or else you wouldn't be doing this video. It's like an airline company being called "Delta featuring Pilots"... of course they are pilots, who else would be flying the plane... a refrigeration technician? I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm genuinely trying to suggest feedback as I really enjoy this channel, you, and these reviews. "Testdrive.com featuring Steve Hammes" is better, IMO.
+Mr Bobby I hear you, but my SEO guy says its needed to drive views from Google.
+Mr Bobby Brown here's an idea, let's forget the name and just watch the awesome reviews. By the way, I'm surprised this channel does get the views that it rightfully deserves. More people need to start sharing Steve's videos.
was that Tupac you were about to listen to?
I prefer this CTS-V without the carbon fiber package with that ridiculous rear spoiler. This is an exceptional car.
if I had the cash this is where its at all that euro nonsense cadillac is were its at. America is making the best sports cars right now if you ask me ford dodge gm and people can afford & maintain if you know what I'm saying
Ugly ass car. Looks like a Hyundai or something.
