No character has ever impacted me in a story like Ragnar. His ambition, his development, and his philosophy are all stunning to watch throughout the series. Travis Fimmel deserves an immense amount of praise for the passion and aura he brought to the character. You can see it in those striking eyes of his. There are many incredibly well written and performed characters, but Ragnar just feels special. I don’t think there will ever be a character quite like him again.

He is a man who took everything that was given to him and more, he made the world exactly how he decided it would be. He conquered, ruled and empowered everything he believed in, he was conflicted in life and in death. In which is the struggle of life everyone is overcome with. It is tragic and beautiful.

His ambition and curiosity for different religions and people made him IMMORTAL. He never asked for power and that’s what made him the perfect man for it. He did mistakes but what man doesn’t? When he left his wife every thing went downhill after that. With his brother Rollo betraying him and other factors is what made him go to drugs. But he died with pride even when he was in a cage. Yeah, my friends all refuse to watch it after watching the first episode because it didn't grab them at the beginning... if only they would just continue watching they'd realise this is one of the best series in existence!

I was hooked from the beginning. The first few scenes in episode one really set the tone for this series. Ragnar and Rollo fighting together and then the Valkyries coming to take the dead was so amazing. And then it cuts to Ragnar with his family doing laundry, lol. I binged watched the show from that point and bought the dvd. That is what makes this show so unique, imo, the mundane bits mixed with epic battles. Like Ragnar taking a dump in the bushes while talking to Rollo about attacking an English village. I think that is why people were so attached to Ragnar's character the little details of family and everyday life make it seem not so staged or scripted TV.

Oh dear lord, I thought I had prepared myself for his death, but the episode broke me, and so did this video. Ragnar truly was an extraordinary character! With all the accomplishments and setbacks, his development has been a pleasure to watch over the seasons, and he is without a doubt one of the best characters ever.
And this video...there's not much you can say really, everybody knows what you're capable of, and I could write an essay on every single one of your videos, but I'm just going to rewatch it again instead, over and over and over, and enjoy all the emotions Ragnar and this video gives me. I ache from his loss. Vikings will never be the same. Truly, thank you.

Cassie A. Aye well said.... Though he was an actor in a TV series or a hero of the sagas I've grown so attached to him over the past four seasons I feel I lost an extremely important person in my life, who will I wait for to come visit me every week now? who will bring me joy or pick me up when I'm feeling down (don't get me wrong I have normal healthy real life relationships be it my wife, child friends & family) but as crazy as it sounds I feel I lost someone very close to me (never experienced that from any TV shows or movies EVER it is so bizarre) though I don't lament his death for the valkeryies with be taking him swiftly to the wide open doors of Valhalla!!! HAIL O RAGNAR!!! FYI I can't believe the emotions I'm feeling while writing this

I started watching this show with 12 days clean. July 1st is my clean date. Today I have 6 months and have finished the show and have my own relationship with a higher power. This show did tremendous things for my spirit while having just few weeks clean. I got a job on a composting farm and was just in the heat daily for 8 hours getting it than going home watching this and going to meetings. 6 months later my relationship with my god is immensely growing stronger each day. This show has helped save my life.

As much as I know Ragnar, i can't understand what you're sayin.
Oh no, Ragnar is a good character, very interesting and hard to understand, but goT's character are more searched and don't change of mind every second. The screenwriters tried to make Ragnar lunatic but something failed, at season 2-3 he became incoherent and so predictible.
A Cersei lannister, a Tyrion Lannister, a Littlefinger or an Eddard Stark, when you've read the books, worth a Ragnar Lothbrok.
