Clever solution. What I do is run a USB A->USB C adapter cable straight into the hidden USB A connector in the center console. Media door only is used for passengers... Works great
I am so pleased to see you back and with a new jeep! I will have to search your channel again to find out why you came back to Jeep but of course I know already. Jeep Rocks! Although a friend recently changed from a Rubicon to a Bronco and I am impressed. But I love my Rubicon. Your cable tip is excellent. I also use a right angle USB C but not the flat ribbon one so will order. I did run my USB Extension behind my radio which was very easy on my 2021 taking off the screen bezel. I then added a MagSafe mount using a Ram Tray bracket. Love having the magnet mount and the phone in the middle of the jeep for easy access.
Awesome. I’m glad the video was helpful. Here’s a link to the video where explaining why I got another Jeep. Let me know what you think. Cheers. Why I Bought Another Jeep! ruclips.net/video/b00NSasS3Vk/видео.html
Interesting solution - will buy one just in case, but I rarely use the ports ever since I installed a magnetic charger/phone holder from Bulletpoint. I had to wire a USB 3 to the aux switch and pull all the cords behind the dash (hate wires) to the passenger side, and now it looks nice and neat - was totally worth the time.
@@CheaperJeeperTV I ordered the 10ft detachable one. I'll replace my current one for my phone (for Android Auto), which I have run beneath the centre console, and up behind the dashboard, and up to my phone hokder. I have 4 USB wires (for GoPros, radio, scanner, and phones) all hidden behind the dashboard, and connected to a power hub in the glove box. I hate exposed wires.
There are other USB C charging only ports in the rear. They are much higher amps than the dash one since they don't also carry signal. I use a wireless Android Auto dongle in the center console and charge my phone with the rear console USB C port. I like this 90 degree ribbon cable so I can close the cover on the rear and my kids won't hit it when they get in and out of their car seats. Great tips as always. BTW, I built the hard top lift with your directions and it works great!
That’s awesome about the lift. Glad to hear. I’m going to have to use your tip for the rear USB C ports as a subscriber tip in an upcoming episode. Thanks! Cheers my friend!!
@@CheaperJeeperTV Do you know if the hard top stand can hold the hard top with the Rugged Ridge roof top rack installed? The rack weighs about 100 lbs. Thx

Great video! Awesome idea! Thanks I’ve been having issues with my screen going blank ( 2024 Jeep Wrangler) for no apparent reasons and have to reboot it’s to come back on ( no i didn’t press the screen off button )
Glad you liked the video. Sorry you’re having issues with your screen. I don’t know the solution but I’d recommend that you go and press down firmly on every fuse and relay in the fuse box next to the battery. I’ve read that helps for some electronic gremlins. Cheers
That's a good idea and gets rid of that "door" I keep hitting with my hand. My hand is on the shift lever about 80% of the time driving, what with manually upshifting/downshifting. Only problem, I use a USB storage "stick" in that USB port below for music. So that would cover that port up for me. Guess it's time for me to get serious about removing that "door", since there's always something I'm plugging in there a door is not needed. Great video and ideas!
That's a great idea. It's more apparent with the 6 spd MT, but not so much with that Media door because the stick shift is more centered, however it is easy to hit the hazards when going into 3rd gear. I have another solution you may consider and something I did for the media door. Since we have the 2024 model, it is wireless apple car play and android auto so we don't need to plug in our phones for the connection to the radio and I assume you're only plugging it in for charging the phone. Instead, you may consider a magsafe mount which charges the phone while mounted to the dash someplace. I see you are already using phone mounts up on top of the dash, you could switch one out for a magsafe charging one and use a magsafe case on your phone to charge it. Of course you will still need to plug in the charger mount itself, but now you have the ability to route the wire and hide it someplace. I picked up a usb extension cable and routed it to my console so it's completely out of sight now. Cheers!
Great video, as always. I just ordered this and I'm getting it tomorrow. I've been looking through your video library and there's one thing that I'm really interested in. That is Emergency Tops. I want to go topless but my main concern is what happens when it starts raining. I don't want to stop driving and park the Jeep only to put a cover on top. I want to be able to put a cover on top to protect from the rain but still keep driving. Any ideas or have you posted a video about this already?
@CheaperJeeperTV Yeah, I think they're called safari tops.... or maybe bikini (bimini) tops. Sorry, I'm just thoroughly confused on what type of top I want or what is even available.
I’m not sure if it’s fast charging. On my 2024 jeep wrangler CarPlay connect wirelessly anyway. If you have a jeep Wrangler JL from 2018 to 2023 when you plug it in it connect CarPlay. Hi Dino, my 2023 wrangler just puffed out blue smoke from the tailpipe . Only 11,000 km and stored all winter indoors. Any advice before i bring it in for warranty work. Is this a common V6 issue ?
On my 2018 JL, which I drove for 200,000 km in four years, blue smoke, never burned out of the tailpipe… Ever. I’d like to hear the response you get at the dealership for something that is definitely not common. Good luck. Cheers.
Yes. I was disappointed with the first Jeep because of the corrosion issue and I was beyond the warranty, so I sold it, and now I’m into this 2024 Rubicon X, and just love it. Thanks for noticing.
While this is clever, I came to say: you do know you can buy a USB cable that is USB A on one end and USB C on the other end, right? I know the iPhone comes with a cable that’s USB C on both ends, but it’s much more convenient just to get a new cable.
Yes and plug it into the centre console. My wife uses that one. I use the dash ports so the flat ribbon addresses the media panel issue. I should have addressed that in the video. 🤷🏻♂️ Thanks. Cheers.
