All of this work isn’t going to help if patients can’t afford tests. Right now, most cases of TB in those places are still diagnosed by the archaic microscope methods you described. Your tests really are revolutionary, which is why they're so important in the fight to end TB.
You point out that TB is the biggest cause of death due to infectious disease worldwide, but that could change! An important step to that is an increase in access to testing. Sadly, your MTB/RIF tests are out of reach to many of the people with TB due to still being priced too high for them to afford, and above the $5 goal which would increase access while still allowing for a fair price. And your other tests (including the one for drug-resistant TB) are priced 3-4 times above that goal! It's #TimeFor5
