Hi. Why can’t I keep my lower and upper jaws apart ? :( I am 38 and I didn’t have such problems, it occurred after crowns, I try to keep jaws and teeth apart but they keep coming close and spasming and hitting and hurting (front 3 teeth and canine)
Hello again. Thanks for your enquiry on our channel again. Well, sounds like but again this is only a wild idea but you may clench or grind in your sleep? Or certain medication also causes clench and grind as a side effect. Or poor posture during the day? Or snore, because your tongue is not sitting in the right spot and therefore mouth breathe? Or have sinus congestion or nasal passage narrowing that causes mouth breathing pattern during the day or at night (may not realize) or both day and sleep both times. Or combination of the factors above. So that’s is why you will need to seek professional assistance to figure out which one is your main driver for your own condition. It is definitely beyond RUclips videos. The list goes on but major ones are above. Please tell me what you feel and if you do find out in your own case please share it with us here if you do t mind. Much appreciated and it may help others to know such cases and they can feel encouraged to find their own diagnosis and solutions. Best wishes,
@@metrophysiotherapy whenever the dentists change the position and shape of the crowns and the back teeth the position of my jaw changes I am already desperate and in constant pain in discomfort of teeth. The lower jaw comes forward which has never happened, so my guess is misalignment of teeth which caused the jaw joint change its position
If I were you I would seek someone outside of tooth profession but people who deals with jaw joints suvch as physical therapist op e physiotherapist or other musculoskeletal professionals depending on where you live and access and keep the teeth alone to see if there is other reasons. Best wishes
@metrophysiotherapy thanks, I had a consultation with them and the only solution for them is to put splint for several months and then change the shape and size of al the teeth to match the new jaw position and they still don’t guarantee that the problem will be resolved so I don’t want that version of theirs. I do feel that every time dentists change the crowns and now also the other back teeth the bite changes. And I have been opening my mouth wide for almost 9 months already for dentists to do their job. Is it possible that my muscles are strained? If yes how to relax? It feels as if the lower jaw wants to somewhere where the teeth don’t meet
