ruclips.net/video/kXnU_S5ZNJQ/видео.html Read the blog post linked in the description and use the alternate method/script in the blog post as the script in the video doesn't work all the time.
You have to download a Bluetooth driver. There should be a sticker on the back saying something like “this device contains intel Bluetooth #####” search up a driver for that and download that.
I'm aware you claim this only works on devices with Intel chipsets, but AMD chipsets have since been released earlier this year. Will this still work on those?
It has NOTHING to do with Linux. It has to do with whether or not your processor is listed as compatible with the BIOS/Firmware modification. If your processor isn't listed, then I wouldn't risk it.
Does anyone know how to get Linux off the Chromebox. Trying to find a method of getting to the bios. I'm using pclinuxos, cannot get anything to work to get a reset.
You can use a Chromebook Restoration USB to get back to factory. Or... as soon as you press the power button, start tapping the ESC key. I've gotten into the BIOS that way.
If you want to restore your Chromebook back factory, it is important that you follow the step to backup your firmware as shown in this video. If you've backed up your firmware, you can then follow this tutorial on how to go back to stock: ruclips.net/video/5Ahz3v7hOBQ/видео.html I've also added this to the description of the video.

Hi DB TECH, is there a way one can actually upgrade a 16gb of emmc to 32gb or more? Anyways i use your method on installing windows on my samsung chromebook and it worked, thanks Grand Master.
Am still having trouble making the bootable usb. I even tryed win32Diskimager and got a different iso. when I put it in my chromebook it doesn't boot up windows
Well then either there's something wrong on your Chromebook or there's something wrong with the ISOs your using or the way you're making your bootable USB sticks.
So I finished the code from 10:00 and it showed that drop bar of information then said “This scrips must be run from a 64-bit Os”. What do I do from there because I don’t know if you have a code for the 32-bit laptops
Based on your error message, the creator of the BIOS you're trying to load says you're trying to run on an ARM processor. That won't work: www.reddit.com/r/GalliumOS/comments/5ni8vc/cant_update_with_mrchromebox/
DB Tech so I barely know that much about computers and I got this for Christmas and I really don’t like chrome so I tried to switch over to windows but I still didn’t really get anything from that reddit forum you sent but do you know if any of the commands are working for a 32-bit
You have the wrong processor. You have and ARM processor. You need a Chromebook with an Intel processor. This won't work for you. You have the wrong kind of Chromebook for this. The VERY FIRST thing I said in the video is that you need a Chromebook with an Intel processor. Literally the first thing. I even mentioned it again a second time only about a minute into the video just in case. There are no 32-bit commands for you. These commands won't work on your processor. You can't change the processor, either. You've got an ARM processor and that's all you can have in your current Chromebook.
Can you please help me. I need to know what drivers to install for windows 10 on a Samsung Chromebook 3. Coolstars website said this was compatible. But from what I've seen there are no drivers for this Chromebook or maybe I just can't find them. I really need help. My Chromebook has bee sitting in efi ready to boot windows 10 for the past week. I don't have another computer to use. I'm borrowing someone's Chromebook right now in an attempt to fix my own. Please help. I got this Chromebook for Christmas it's my first time owing a laptop of any kind and I'm desperate to either boot windows ( doesn't seem to work) or restore chrome os).
Sounds like you did this to yourself. You didn't backup your Chromebook like I explicitly said to in the video. You didn't have a copy of Windows ready to go like I mentioned in the video. I provided you a link to a video to restore your Chromebook back to stock. I'm not sure what you expect anyone else to do. You didn't follow instructions before and it sounds like you voided your warranty.
Then why didn't you just install windows? In order to go back, you'll have to have a Linux distribution like ubuntu running in live mode to run the same script you ran before. But, you didn't back up your computer, so I'm not sure how/if you'll be able to restore your BIOS. This is why I said to backup your BIOS at 10:39. It's why it says to make a backup of your BIOS when you were going through the process. Why didn't you backup your BIOS? You were told at least TWICE that it was important.
Or you could use your friend's Chromebook to download CloudReady (www.neverware.com/freedownload) and create a bootable USB using his/her Chromebook (ruclips.net/video/UAAcQVJxfPk/видео.html) and basically have the same user experience as being back to a regular Chromebook since CloudReady is ChromeOS for "regular" laptops.
@@DBTechYT I tried installing Windows 10 but I ran into issues with the drivers. I'll install Ubuntu (already made a bootable drive for it) and install cloud ready. Hopefully it works. I don't know why I didn't saw my bios....
If you install Windows on your Chromebook, it's Windows. Just plain old Windows. If you can install something on Windows, it has a 99.999999% chance of working as long as your Chromebook meets the hardware requirements of the software.

Winload.EFI Error, is pretty much self explanatory by it’s name is an error that prevents windows from loading. This is usually caused by corrupt boot records or incorrect boot configuration. Depending on your Operating System, the error message may vary but the keyword winload.efi will be same. On a Windows 8/8.1/10 system, the error usually pops-up in the following form. "Your PC needs to be repaired. The application or operating system couldn’t be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors. File: \windows\system32\winload.efi Error code: 0xc000***" appuals.com/steps-to-fix-winload-efi-error-0xc0000001/

I didn't build the firmware, but I'm pretty sure it has to do with the CPU architecture and how easy/hard it is to build a firmware that is easy to build drivers for and that sort of thing. I would reach out to the firmware developer for more information.
Can i use the same methode to install fedy os !!
I have an option on my chromebook to go into developer mode without taking out the screw, can it work?
Is that the developer mode in the chrome settings???
Hi DB Tech, I am getting stuck at ChromeOS Firmware Utility Script. There are 6 possible selections. You advise to select 1) Install/Update Full ROM Firmware, but that selection is not available for me because it is grayed out. I only have selection 2 and 3 available to me. Somehow, I'm not unlocking all the options. Do you know what the problem might be?
You have to remove the write protection screw. Google where it is for your model of chromebook
I cannot paste the the url for the second command in the terminal and I have no way of viewing the full link.
Yeah you do. It's actually covered near the top of the description.

Hey I have the same chromebook. I just wanted to know if the Bluetooth feature still work after doing this?
It should. I don't remember.
Only if they are listed on the coolstar.org site
@@DBTechYT so, I don't see where I can check for Linux compatibility
It has NOTHING to do with Linux. It has to do with whether or not your processor is listed as compatible with the BIOS/Firmware modification. If your processor isn't listed, then I wouldn't risk it.
Does anyone know how to get Linux off the Chromebox. Trying to find a method of getting to the bios. I'm using pclinuxos, cannot get anything to work to get a reset.
You can use a Chromebook Restoration USB to get back to factory. Or... as soon as you press the power button, start tapping the ESC key. I've gotten into the BIOS that way.
hi im just wondering how to run the chrome script without using mrchrome.tech (the coolstar download) just in case it gets shutdown
It won't matter if the site gets shut down after you do it. You only need access to the script on the site while your doing the conversion.
How do you recover the original firmware from the backup USB drive?
If you want to restore your Chromebook back factory, it is important that you follow the step to backup your firmware as shown in this video. If you've backed up your firmware, you can then follow this tutorial on how to go back to stock: ruclips.net/video/5Ahz3v7hOBQ/видео.html
I've also added this to the description of the video.
i reached at install update full rom firmware i wrote 1 and press enter after i wrote y and press enter . and its saying hardware write protect enabled can not flash full Rom Firmware.... any idea what to do next ?
Sounds like you may have a write-protect screw that you'll have to find. I have no idea where yours is/might be, so you'll want to Google where to find it on your device.
@@DBTechYT i did everything as you guide in your video. i have toshiba chrome book 2, now only the issue is sound. sound is not working not even in handsfree, how can i enable the sound ? or should i change to any android version . kindly suggest ?

Just to let you know, RUclips truncated and obfuscated part of the command because it was technically a long URL.

Did you verify that your Chromebook is 100% compatible with this whole process? Sounds like you don't have the new BIOS on your system.
@@DBTechYT yes I have
Well then either there's something wrong on your Chromebook or there's something wrong with the ISOs your using or the way you're making your bootable USB sticks.
@@DBTechYT how did you get your iso? I got mine though windows media creator
Yeah. That's how I do it. Maybe try installing something like Ubuntu to see if you get different results?
DB Tech alright well it was worth the shot thanks though
It says the Fw vP is enabled and it won’t let me do anything
then you may have to remove a write-protect screw
@@DBTechYT I did have windows ready. I just didn't back up my os.
I would like to ask about the media software that is compatible with the chromebook windows pc

Everytime i try and install windows 10 from my sd card i keep getting an error saying recovery, something to do with winload.efi, has anyone encountered this problem?
Winload.EFI Error, is pretty much self explanatory by it’s name is an error that prevents windows from loading. This is usually caused by corrupt boot records or incorrect boot configuration. Depending on your Operating System, the error message may vary but the keyword winload.efi will be same. On a Windows 8/8.1/10 system, the error usually pops-up in the following form.
"Your PC needs to be repaired. The application or operating system couldn’t be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors. File: \windows\system32\winload.efi Error code: 0xc000***"

This only works for 64bit systems.
Every time I see a sticker saying "Breaking this sticker voids your warranty", I always wonder why people just don't remember that technically, they could take it off, unscrew whatever, and when they're done, put the sticker back on exactly where it was. Unless there is a way to tell if it was removed.
The stickers leave stuff behind a lot of times that make it hard to put back

As far as the write-protect screw, you're looking for a screw that ISN'T just holding the motherboard in. It actually grounds a couple of solder points. I don't have access to your hardware, so you're going to have to just take the time to try multiple screws until you find the right onw.
