Brilliant! I was lucky enough to be at every game home and away. What a team! My everlasting memory was Mel sterland coming to the south stand in tears on the last day. He gave me a hug and I said to him thankyou Mel...
I'm a West Ham fan and I was at that game when we did Leeds a favour and beat Man U when we were already relegated. Ferguson said our performance was obscene lol The main reason we wanted to win was we didn't want Ince winning the league.
That "Evening Post" home strip - a kit to die for. Now that's our real identity. The designers of our recent kits should learn from this. They've taken away the blue and put on black numbers.
Remember this title race fondly as a neutral. So many pivotal games in the run in where live on ITV. Was a proper race for the title. That Sheffield United game was nuts.
Wilko was a great manager, and he put our Leeds utd back on the map of football. It only took three years for him to do it. And who is CON TANA(Liverpool game).
I had never followed Leeds Utd BUT I found lots of extraordinary videos on them going back to 1988-89 and up to 1999 - 2000 and it makes brilliant viewing. I have great admiration for Howard Wilkinson with his masterstroke of winning Division 2 thereby securing promotion to Division 1 (Now Premiership) and going on to win the last first Division Championship which I feel is the only time that achievement has never been repeated... ?? In the midst of Wilco's brilliant success there is one Mystery to me and that is WHY did Leeds sell Cantona, to ManU, who had reached a winning touch and one wonders how Wilko felt over the following 5 or 6 years when Eric won 4 or 5 Premiershils for ManU thanks mainly to Cantona ?????????.. Leeds was a remarkably attractive team and played lovely football.. David O'Leary almost made it again in 1999- 2000.. Sorry, they missed out narrowly.. Gordon Straken (Manu Reject) was a real inspiration to the full team and showed that even well into your 30s you can still light up the stage... He was such a driving force ?????
Yes the days of reasonable transfer fees no sell on clauses and players who wanted the glory of actually winning a trophy and not just moving for a big transfer fee and pay rise
Always remember Leeds as a proper shite 2nd Div side back in the 80s, suppose not much has changed since lol.. So, they won the first Div title, so fucking what, even Leicester fluked the equivalent (prem) Then they sing a bullshit song "Champions of Europe" FFS, they lost 2-0 (75)😂😂 Small time club, living off a couple of pitch invasions & chucking a few seats abouts, back in the 70s
do you practice being a Gobshite or does it come naturally, by the way leeds only spent 2 years out of Div 1 in the 80s, fortunately they put you losers in your box 91/92
Good job sonny, give yourself a biscuit. If we were that shite you wouldn't be on here mouthing off trying to look big for your glory fan mates. You absolutely reek of plastic. So who do you support this season?
You look back now and you realise what a remarkable job Wilko did.
I was thinking the same, and Strachan.
Fun Fact, Ben Wilkinson is the Assistant manager of the EDS, Man Citys u23s, Be great to see another Wilkinson Managing at Leeds in 2028 :)
Not bad for a ex PE teacher
@@bremnersghost948 Leeds will win the premier league again

Blimey that brought back some memories, 5 great episodes there cheers. Rod Wallace was a smart signing, contributed so much that year. MOT
Rod Wallace was the most underrated player ever he was mustard

Great days ! MOT ! 👍
- Happy days allround. Wilko - second only to Don. He did so much for our club.

I was born in 1992 and would have loved to have seen this!!
I am hoping we can all experience this kind of celebration again very soon!

Awesome day when we won it, street parties all over Pudsey, that night out was unbelievable. Never felt so much elation and joy.
Loved watching all that ⚽️ Missed it all living & working those years in Palestine & Pakistan. Rod Wallace & Mel Sterland both superb 😀 MOT

The Game at Sheff Utd showed that that League Title had Leeds United written all over it. The Good Lord looks after his own it seems. Lol
If Leeds had this team now, they would be winning everything
💯
Lukic was key in this title win ! However the quality of football in this match compared to today’s standard is absolute gash 😂.
The goal scorer for Sheffield united looks in his 50’s
I read your comment before i watched the Sheffield United match and just new it was Alan Cork lol. Still alive now lol
David Batty. What a guy.
Love to see another title for the younger generation.
Was in the Liverpool seats this day
NOW THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL A TEAM unlike now...
What a midfield that was
The next one to be done should be the champions league semi final season

John Lukic always had a lockdown hairstyle.

The size of Jan Molby!
Won an amateur league title that year. Glory days that live long in the memory.
Just a shame the defence of the title fell so flat-17th in 1993.....
The ONLY class of 92.

Alan Cork old bustard.
By the way ..Bournemouth we're sorry.
We're Leeds United we'll never be defeated!!
