Hey, to you OP and anyone else viewing, Carlin’s last stand up was right in 2008 (the last time he was on stage is well worth a watch especially if you thought this caught you off guard) and his comedy stand ups stretch for YEARS of quality content far before that. Some may say he’s extreme, Cynical, and controversial but I assure you my fellow reader, he only ever talked about the world that he lived in and what that world made him and he never pretended to be anything more or less. If you’re hungry for what comedy use to be like I also recommend checking out Robin Williams stand up and if you’re feeling adventurous.... check out a stand up called “Delirious” if you really want a history lesson.
I search for Carlin when I need a good laugh… I remember listening to him the first time in the 80’s, on albums my father gave me… He only got funnier from there… And, I saw him live in Vegas in the late 90’s… My favorite is probably still his seven dirty words - not sure there is any other comedian who is named in, or caused, a Supreme Court case… Although, the Babylon Bee recently filed an Amicus Brief, in support of free speech, which is pretty damn funny!
The way he predated these topics (from abortion, politics, and elections) is still amazing. We need him more than ever, especially in 2024. We miss you, george
You know what’s apparently NOT relevant in 2024!? CORRECT SPELLING! Christ on a fucking rubber crutch, CORRECT SPELLING!!! The word is prescient. I don’t know HOW whatever device you’re using or whatever didn’t correct it…. But back to what you said……yes, the truth is tineless …..
One of the things I love about Carlin is his fearlessness with calling out the hypocrisy and BS on both sides. He unmercifully attacked everything and everyone and unapologetically told the truth. He saw right through the charade of society and never picked sides. Nothing was off limits for him. We need people like him now more than ever in today’s world. People who aren’t afraid to offend, think for themselves, see through the facade, rely on logic and reason, etc. People like Carlin, Chappelle, and Burr are the antidote to the madness that’s happening in our culture right now.
While you are correct that he called out BS on both sides, it was hardly on an even basis, more like a 90/10 or at best 80/20 spread, with the vast majority of Carlin's literary venom & mockery aimed directly at Conservatives. This is not only clearly evident in his standups, however also in his interviews which were often with ultra left wing hosts such as Keith Olbermann where he very clearly stated his views & where he stood on issues. Now that the great genius is unfortunately no longer with us, you will often see Conservatives claiming Carlin, which gives me a huge chuckle every time, as he literally spoke of "annihilating the Right"(Keith Olbermann interview). Idealogically, he was as progressive as one can get, disagreeing often vehemently with the Right on virtually every single issue from immigration to the wars in the middle east to abortion. Matter of fact, notwithstanding the fact that he was almost an absolutist when it came to free speech, you will be very hard pressed to find any other issue where he even tilted a bit rightward. Consequently, his mockery on stage was almost exclusively targeted towards the Right side of the political spectrum.
Well, hardly. NYC in the 90s, and Carlin's crowds were pretty much aware of what he was doing, all in all. So yeah, maybe two or three conservative morons like you, but not much more...

Notice he doesn’t do hack crowd work. This was like a stage play, not just a comedy routine. He was the best. And the comedians today aren’t even comedians like he was. They are all just opportunists that offer little actual insight or meaningful social commentary, and some are straight up grifters that aren’t even funny at all and resort to gimmicks and cheap schticks.

I miss this man. He was so observant of our crazy world. I’ve been a fan since he started. This special is such a relief, leaving all the swear words in , cuz that’s the way we really talk. Rest in peace George. No one can replace you. One of a kind. ❤️❤️🕉️☮️
I never get tired watching this show.
My favourite stand up comedian who got me through many hard times and quite possibly one of the best to ever live. Rip George Carlin. You are my hero.
We loved our saxophones in the 90s.
This confine the criminals to a geographical area has already been done. It's called Australia. 😂
One of the greatest stand ups ever happened 👏... A true masterpiece
CARLIN: The ones who live out where the buses don't run.
AUDIENCE GUY: That's me! 😁
😂
Notice he doesn’t do hack crowd work. This was like a stage play, not just a comedy routine. He was the best. And the comedians today aren’t even comedians like he was. They are all just opportunists that offer little actual insight or meaningful social commentary, and some are straight up grifters that aren’t even funny at all and resort to gimmicks and cheap schticks.
Joke aside this guy is telling the truth.
My favorite of all time. Genius comedy.
20 years ago I was playing PlayStation 1 listening to this as an mp3 that I’d gotten from Morpheus. Now I’m hearing it streaming as I play on my iPad. Wild. Thanks for upload ! 👍👍
return to here to refresh logic, common sense , reasoning and humor
One of the greatest 1 hour comedy shows of our lifetime. The great thing about this show, is it aged well. Now I need to find a second full show that has plastic, ugly kids, and the seven words and I will be set.
Excellent comedian. Insightful and hilarious. 🇦🇺 😁
I always love the way he runs in off the street to start this, something about it fits him so much. The kind of guy you'd ask for an opinion and he'd just provide this out of the blue articulate and gifted rant back at you.
Forever missing you, Carlin. ❤❤❤ thank you for this upload.
Man, what a presence he brought with him onto that stage. No one even comes close
I was so fortunate to get to interview him in person on my radio show on WHUS at UConn in 1976...great guy
Mannnnn there's a ton of jewels here! Definitely worth sharing... thanks to George!!
Lots of laughs too😂
This man was right about everything. I'm so sad he's dead but also glad he's not alive to see what we've become...
I'm pretty sure he would have koo-laid smile
The guy would have an instant anyeurism with the sheer amount of stupidity
He always knew what we would become and he was right
He'd tell you that nothing's really changed.
Dead. No more opportunity to know the love of God.
I love his later specials, so dark and so much Brooklyn "hey I'm walkin here!" Energy. Fantastic!
I was at this show in a different city live to re-watch in 2024, is hilarious 😂😂🎉🎉
We need this man right now. Bring him back!
There is no comedian like Carlin today!
No comedian ever will be!
And no comedian ever has ever been!
He continues to be only a true comedic genius!
Rest in Peace, dear George!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I always strongly disagreed with a lot of George's political beliefs, but appreciated his wit and comedic talents. He's always been tied with Robin Williams as my favorite comedian. We used to be able to disagree in this Country, but still respect and even admire one another.
He was always a proponent of d truth, whether u like it/believe it or not! U'r most likely one of those ppl he critiques or complains about.
Lmao. Saw your comment around the time he's shitting on folks wearing cowboy hats....
@@kuropotato8097 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@kuropotato8097 CLASSIC!!
@@jfmilian8093 Not really, I only disagree with him on 1 thing. The belief there is no God.
True. Religion is disgusting and useless imo, but it's not needed for an actual relationship with our Divine Creator. There IS a God, I can't explain to you how I so matter of factly know this, if the Supernatural wasn't Supernatural, there wouldn't be anything "Super" or special about it, thus rendered pointless.
But He has shown me He IS real, and so, George is simply wrong about God not existing.
One insanely observant, brilliant man. I'm glad I happened upon this particular show...
Thanks for sharing.
As true now as then. A great man, comic, and philosopher.
Philosopher? Hardly.
Those were the days
Comedic genius. Thanks for posting this.
"THE PUBLIC SUCKS, F**K HOPE", this is truer by the day!
Everything about this is frighteningly delightful 🎉 and dead on. THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤❤❤
We need him NOW
I started to watch George Carlin when I was 18 and now am 18 and when I want to just relax with laughs I watch him, again, and again and I never get tire, it's just like my dose of Carlin to make it or start my day on the right track, or before I go to bed. He was a genius and I miss him so much. He's the best ...still ,no competition...Rest in peace George....
Correction 66😮😂😂😅😊
In the late nineties me and my brother stayed up at night to watch his stand up on HBO good ol days or nights
This was the one that really got me into him. I was 17 or 18 and had listened to him before of course he was on HBO but now I heard him.
Sir, please come back to life.
The fact that I waited to watch Carlin’s standup, I’m so mad at myself because I loved this.
Welcome
What an entrance!! And Exit! That's so George! LOL. Love this man forevermore! 💚
Seeing this again, I forgot how brilliantly funny George was and still is!!!!
Still my absolute favorite Carlin Show
Hands down my favorite special ever. Thanks for uploading.
This opening aged like the finest of wine so pure that even God would be impressed if he were real.
This is probably the best comedy special ever any others I should watch
This is so relevant today.
Brilliant, I just wish more people would take the time and listen to what he’s saying, he’s not only very funny but he talks a lot of sense 😂👍👍👍👍
