    Cool video, here's my *summary:*
    • Regulate/stabilize your habits to regulate your concentration ability
    ○ Get up at approx. the same time each morning (similar to other people)
    ○ Eat a protein & fat rich breakfast soon after waking up
    ○ Schedule your time systematically
    1. Start with a vision (positive & negative)
    2. Break it down into habits
    3. Design your days: Block time in your calendar for those habits
    □ Tip: see the calender as a friend, not as an external tyrant
    ○ Train yourself with micro habits
    - Incremental improvement pays off like compound interest
    □ Direction is more important than the starting point or current position
    - The respective habit needs to be aligned with your concentration goals
    □ e. g. if you want to be able to read w/o being distracted, try reading 10 (-> 12 -> …) minutes/day without being distracted
    □ Goal should be challenging enough for growth, but not so hard you're sure to fail

i've had adhd my entire life, and i've learned a few tricks that have helped me. specifically with his reading example, i'd say start by reading aloud, and if that doesn't work, perform it. really--act it out. it can be to an imaginary audience or a real someone with a lot of patience (lol) but when you're engaging with more than just words, i've found it to be incredibly helpful to reach a level of stimulation that really dials you in. i'm also an actor so i'm not sure if this will work for everyone, particularly individuals who struggle with performance anxiety, but it might be worth a shot if you're challenged by this. good luck yall 🙌

Time management. The smallest and most powerful stepping stone to success.
Some people don't see it, therefore they unknowingly overlook it.
Others see it as so small that they doubt how effective it is because they want immediate results.
Until I watched this video, I've never realised just how much CONCENTRATION AND FOCUS needs DILIGENCE AND PERSEVERANCE. Stay on your grind.

This is the best advice i have ever came across with, thanks JP you're a true intellectual
    1. regulate your habits( wake up at approximately the same hour every day)
    2. don't skip breakfast( have it with protein and fats)
    3. schedule your day in a manner that you would like to have
develop long term goals of positive and negative(one that you want to avoid)
adapt smaller responsibilities which are part of a bigger goal
    4. define concentration( know the constituents of concentration) and train yourself with smaller habits incrementally
don't forget that the trajectory on which you're on is more important than the starting point

“…trajectory is more important than the starting point…” A very useful tip. I get from this that once momentum (in the right direction) is acquired on toward your goal, the starting point is not that much important but as a marker that reflect whether one made progress.
By extension, there would be successive starting points like roadside markers along the way. Neat.

    • @QuestionEverything562
      @QuestionEverything562 3 года назад

Exactly, as most storytellers will tell you, it's not about the beginning or the end, it's about the journey. Positive Momentum is a great feeling, like you said, roadside markers. You're driving and see a sign that says 80 Km, then you keep driving, now it's 60 Km, then you keep driving, then it's just 20 Km. That's a good feeling, and you don't want to let your foot off the pedal because you see the progress. Your momentum builds incrementally, but it also builds a blueprint in your head on how to progress in certain tasks or build consistent stabilization of activities down the road. In other words, you build progressive habits.

How many things I've already heard from him. He literally says what exactly I can do right freaking now to make my life better, but I just can't make it happen. Do the scedule, sleep right, eat well, do this self authority test, read books, take this huge responsibility, define goals. Like, nah. Will not do this, just will not. What is wrong with me. I cannot negotiate with myself and cannot force myself either even to clean my room. Something is deeply wrong with me. Pick 1 of those things you listed & concentrate on that. Like cleaning your room, then break it down, i.e., pick up the trash, then put your clothes away, make your bed, take dirty dishes to the kitchen... You don't have to do it all in one day. Say, do 2 things & then reward yourself with a dessert or video game time... Break everything down into smaller stuff, otherwise you'll be overwhelmed. I hope this helps 😊

1- regulate your sleep. Circadian rhythm is no joke. Don't mess with it and keep it still.
2- eat breakfast when you wake up. It helps you regulate your mood by giving energy and boosting blood sugar levels.
3- spending some time to schedule your time. First thing is, you should develop a long term plan and have a vision or a dream. Then manage your daily life. Use a calendar like google calendar.
~dont use the calendar as an external tyrant that tells you what to do every day. Instead use to design the day that you would most likely LIKE to have. With a pinch of responsibility of course.
4- limit your distractions and make what you are trying to do gradual so you don't collapse. Incremental improvement pays off like compound interest. Over time, you'll be several times better than you were.
In short, break it into micro habits, then schedule them in a way that you don't hate, and stick to them.
    You're welcome guys :)
