JBPeterson: I know that one of the things your PM is trying to do is reinstitute the metaphysical foundations of Hungarian culture. He might be lucky and succeed. My message to the Hungarians is that you should not rebel against your prime minister, he will resurrect the thousand-year-old Hungarian empire.

You may know this already, but always make sure that you are constantly recovering from your addiction and using each day to bring you further and further away from your last use. . If indeed you are an addict then you know that we never fully recover. Don't let yourself lie to you by saying it will be ok to just have one. To have a drink now. To take something because it was not my DOC. Whether relapse has been an issue for you or not is beside the point. Keep fighting no matter what happens. It ALWAYS gets better.
Look up James 1: 2-4 NLT and try to cast aside any religious beliefs and/or doubts and open your mind to what the verse truly means. There are so many inspiring individuals out there such as Mr. Peterson and use everything you can from them. But this verse, has changed my whole entire look on life.
God speed my friend. You got this!

I thought of it this way: that my environment is a representation of my mental state. I used to be comfortable living in clutter, and once i decided to take control over cleaning my room, washing dishes regularly, cooking, washing clothes on a schedule, life DID get better(as simply as i can put it).
I then took it to the way i spoke, not to use vulgarities, to speak gracefully. And then i controlled my eyes, to be conscious of what i viewed(no more porn, no more constantly viewing women simply by their sexual body parts). I think i’m turning into a monk
Update: i’m doing so well right now. I never thought i’d say this but damn, it feels good to be decently attractive; to actually get attention from ladies without even trying. But now comes the part where I have to learn how to leverage this instead of letting it ruin my character. Another 4 months of work!

This is really important. It's only recently that I've started applying this to my own life. I think I've had this deep rooted belief most of my life that not only was I not a special or powerful individual but that I wasn't even average. That I was so far below everyone else that I didn't deserve happiness because I wasn't born strong enough. So I gave up on everything. It's taken me far too long to realise I subconsciously allowed myself to lose at everything because I was afraid of putting my energies and emotions towards something that I might ultimately lose anyway. But that was an incorrect way of thinking about it because it's still far better to live a life where you tried your absolute hardest and lost than to have never even made the effort at all. Because although you might not have achieved the goal, the things you learnt on your way to that goal are just as valuable for the future.

@@thehorse5307 But you have realized it and it never to late. Some words of advice, don't care too much about what others think. Some do not want to see you succeed for whatever reason. Financial management is a crucial topic that most tend to shy away from, and ends up haunting them in the near future. Putting our time and effort in activities and investments that will yield a profitable return in the future is what we should be aiming for. It’s easy to see a yellow car if you’re always thinking of a yellow car.
It’s east to spot an opportunity if you’re always looking for an opportunity.

The best part is this isn't a bullshit, "Follow these 10 steps to live a better life" article. This is psychology. @@noteem5726 Hi there! I have suffered from major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, and insomnia for most of my life. I truly remember being a little girl, as young as seven, and crying myself to sleep for an unknown reason. As I grew, I realized I must have a mental illness that I was born with, but I never sought out help until last year (20 years old). It was Dr. Peterson's advice that lead me to seek out a psychiatrist. I was formally diagnosed with the four mentioned disorders and, so, was put on an antidepressant and sleeping pills. Before starting the pills, I never showered, cleaned, slept. I was failing university and was on the verge of suicide.
No exaggeration here: Dr. Peterson's advice saved and changed my life. Even before starting medications, I took Dr. Peterson's words to heart and very seriously. I sat down and wrote everything he said and believed in it, and that truly saved my life because at one point, I realized I either had to kill myself or save myself. Thanks to this video (and a few others by Dr. Peterson), I chose the latter.
I now have a sparkling clean house, help take care of my siblings, and have a job as a behavior therapist for autistic children (it's my first job because I always knew I could never hold one down, but things are different now). I've only started working two months ago, but I'm constantly told I'm hands down one of the best employees they've had so far because of my dedication, commitment, and eagerness to improve. My hygiene is near perfect, and I now sleep like a baby! I used to sleep no more than 3 to 4 hours a day (for over 20 years!), but I now receive 8 to 9 hours daily, and I sometimes don't even need the medication anymore. I still have a lot to improve on because university is still a struggle, but I'm working towards that.
If I can save myself, you can too, bud. Best of luck to you.

Wow, very profound. I'm happy you chose the latter and that also means that each new day is a gift to yourself. I would love to know what you were diagnosed with and what medications you're on if it isn't too intrusive.
You also might want to check out Dr Wayne Dyer. He really is brilliant and a great speaker. One of the teachings I learned from him was that your history is just a story we tell ourselves and that we need to abandon that story and live in the present. That we need to live a balanced life of openness but without attachments.
Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Best wishes and God bless.

I had a headlight that wasnt working right on my truck. I simultaneously have an issue with my gauges like gas gauge showing correct level, dropping to zero and below, or pegging over to full. I thought the two were related because the head light worked sometimes. This is my work truck and sometimes I have to go out at night.
This was going on for 4 years and my routine was built around it.
One day I was bored and looked up a video on how to remove the light assembly. Turns out it is really easy on this truck. So I said "what the heck". Pulled it out, went and got a $15 bulb, put it in. Put the assembly back in and this is what became of $15 and 30 minutes of effort.
I dont have to transfer my tools to my wife's truck are night when I have the on call phone and hope I didn't forget anything. I pick up my kid from work after dark and my wife's truck is a beast and gets uber crappy mileage. Made the $15 back in less than a week using less gas. Dont have to worry about cops stopping me for light out coming home in winter because it gets dark before I get off. Recovered lost time I was using to work around this problem.
And so on. It made a big difference.
Didn't have anything to donwith the gauges though. Probably going to laugh if I find out it was a 30 minute fix too.

I remember once when I had been in a bedridden state of depression for weeks, I glanced at my table and saw a dirty coffee cup amongst the mess. I thought: If I go into the kitchen, wash that cup and put it in the cupboard, there is nothing wrong about that. It would only change the fact that there is a dirty coffee cup into a fact that there is a clean coffee cup, it would have nothing to do with who I am or who I should be, how bad things are etc.. I thought about it for a long time and came to trust the idea that washing that cup was the thing to do. I got up, went to the kitchen and washed that cup for five minutes, all the time telling myself there is nothing wrong with washing it. I went back to bed and thought of that one clean coffee cup in the cupboard, it was like a star shining in my darkness.

    • @missionpupa

Go to a psychologist for therapy. A lot of kids got whippings. They still do for bad behavior. I'm sorry that you went through that. It's the threat and the mental anguish.

I met Earl 'The Pearl' Nightingale. Me and my brother, wanting to meet him, unfortunately happened to interrupt Earl while he was eating cake, after a black tie gala dinner. Let's just say, he did not appreciate it. We approached him in awe, but left, laughing our asses off. Did we just piss off Earl Nightingale by accident? We did. Anywho, go tell a native american, a Rawandan, and a Venezuelan, that 'the world is all together,' and see what they say.

I love you Jordan Peterson. I love the depth of thought that has gone into your philosophies. I am getting drunk on ginger wine at 2:45 in the morning. I decided that I didn't like loneliness and the Lord has been leading me on a journey of blessing people through prayer that has been helping to heal the loneliness. I think that is my niche. God's going to grow my ministry. I had a prophecy about it. Yes that gorilla experiment was annoying because we can be so sure that we are infallible. If there is one thing God has been showing me recently is my propensity to make mistakes. Anyway giggling now which is really nice because I think I just needed to relax for a while which is why I used to drink in the first place. God bless you Jordan Peterson. God loves you. Xxxx

What would I have to do to improve my room.....open the window, throw 50% of room contents out of the recently opened window, close window

  • @byjmitch
    @byjmitch 3 года назад +4

    Why should you improve yourself:
So you and others don’t need to suffer more unnecessarily
If you don’t organize yourself well your future self will suffer
You will care if you’re in pain
How do you get your act together:
Look for something that bothers you and see if you can fix it
Look at your room, if i had to make this room better in 10 minutes what would I do?
Fix the things you repeat every day. Your routines probably constitute most of your like
The things you do every day are the most important things
Just because something announces itself as in need of repair doesn’t mean you need to fix that thing at that time
Your mind: as soon as you give it an aim it will reconfigure the world towards an aim
How to be genuine about it: bring thoughts and emotion together
You see what you aim at
Be careful what you aim at, it determines how the world manifests itself to you

You need to improved yourself because you don't suffer anymore stupidly than you have to. Thats the key word. Most times it amazes me greatly how I moved from an average lifestyle to earning over $63k per month, Utter shock is the word. I have understood a lot in the past few years that there are lots of opportunities in the financial market. The only thing is to know where to invest.
