- Bitten by the car bug at an early age, Shawn was drawn around the aura of cars. Dissatisfied with the modern trend of assisted vehicles, Shawn took a step back into the fundamentals of driving.
Grasping the feel of man and machine and the human reaction of having every movement of the vehicle blend with his motions he searched for his perfect Porsche 911. With a page out of Porsche’s "Less is More" philosophy, he sought remove everything but the essentials. His project grew phenomenally as a simple suspension upgrade quickly became an all out track car build. This is his car life story.
Special thanks to Shawn Wang & Curtis Choi for the additional footage

Absolutely beautiful car! I don't understand why people are giving him a hard time about his accent. Having an accent isn't exactly something you choose...Regardless of his accent you can still tell how passionate he is about his car.
1 last thought.. My career(B4 Retirement), took me outside the U.S. to live + work. As a guest of those countries, I spent a great amount of time learning their cultures, language, traditions, etc. Let me tell you, I heard my share of giggles following a "Mispronounced word or phrase". In the end, EVERY COUNTRY I lived and worked in, most everyone I encountered was GRATEFUL that I TRIED to speak to them in THEIR LANGUAGE and, I was respectful of their cultures and traditions! Its embarrassing to see and hear Americans judging people who are different than they are! How many languages do they(ugly+hateful/judgemental idiot's) Speak?? Now who looks STUPID?! (Me=3 Two languages+Sign Language)
JonWarAll ACCENT !! you should hear the guys who built his car !!
@@EpiphanyOne2 Calm down with the capitals man, we can read.
@@EpiphanyOne2 Well said
@@EpiphanyOne2 all you can do is try, I only speak 1 language and I have a specific accent to where I was brought up, people can be idiots about accents, but 3 languages wow , respect I have enough difficulties with 1
Every nut & bolt to factory torque specs, loving it. Shows you care.
This guy describes perfectly the love owners have of their older, air-cooled 911s. I have one and could not have said it better. Bravo!
Shawn's taste and diligence in building his 930 speaks more than needed already. Just look at that beeeauty guys! C'mon, don't be ragging on the man for his accent and give him some props for being such an avid Porsche owner!
You have my utmost hat-tip buddy!
BECKMCS Thank you for the kind words Ken!
BECKMCS Its not a 930, its a 3.2 Carrera. 930 is only used to designate the Turbo. Many earlier 911's never had a 9xx chassis name, just 3.2 Carrera, 911SC, etc.
Daniel Mirzotti Thanks for the clarification. I've always thought that generation/body style of the 911 falls under 930. Good to know!
BECKMCS
I used to think the same thing as well and somebody corrected me on it. It should make sense but I guess Porsche never made a chassis code designation for them.
It took me years to figure out the "timeline" of 911's, because they stopped using chassis codes after the 901 until the 964 debuted in '89. But between those years, I guess you just call each 911 by its model name, which goes as following (from what I can gather):
-1964 the Porsche 911 (2.0L) is released
-1966 the 911S is revealed
-1967 the 911T is revealed
-1969 the 911E is revealed
-1969 to 1971, same models but now 2.2L
-1971 to 1973, same models but now 2.4L
-1973 the Carrera RS 2.7 is released
-1974 the Carrera RS 3.0 replaces 2.7 RS
-1974 3.0 RS, 911T and 911E gone, 911 and 911S remain but displacement bumped to 2.7
-1974 the Carrera 2.7 is released
-1975 the 930 Turbo is released
-1976 to 1977 the Carrera 3.0 released
-1978 to 1983 its the 911SC (3.0L)
-1984 to 1989 its the 3.2 Carrera
-1989 to 1994 its the 964
-1993 to 1998 its the 993
-1998 to 2005 its the 996
-2004 to 2012 its the 997
-2011 to now its the 991
Please correct me if I'm wrong, especially with the pre-964 statistics, as they can be very confusing.
Daniel Mirzotti looks good to me!
Really happy I found this RUclips channel. Gives me a similar vibe to Petrolicious which is a great thing.
YES! I was thinking the same thing.
Real car guy... A+ to this mans work and dedication...
One of the most beautiful 3.2's i have seen. Great job Shawn.
This is the most underrated car channel on RUclips. Highest quality car content I’ve seen. Great work. Keep these videos coming!
That has to be the cleanest, inside and outside, 3.2 I've ever seen! Given the opportunity, I really wouldn't do anything differently, apart from trying to get a little more colour in. Red belts or something.. maybe a couple of stickers on the glass even. Top job though, that thing is mint!
This is a wonderful video, your car is absolutely remarkable. Thank you for taking the time to share with us your quest and finishing of your project. It's takes discipline to do what you've done yet others out there will still find something to put you down about is tread of complementing a mans hard work and efforts. You are the man. I learned a lot from your video. Thanks
You deserve this fantastic car! Great job caring for it, and enjoying it! And thanks for sharing it with us!
I lived in Vancouver(Burnaby) for 2+yrs. They have some of the greatest roads I've ever seen and lucky enough to have driven! Two of my favorite drive's were..#2. Sea to Sky highway from West Vancouver to Whistler, BC. #1. Vancouver Island. From Nanaimo due west/south west to Ucluelet/Torino on the Pacific Rim! Simply amazing, well paved switchbacked roads with no traffic (or police) on that trip! Back then I had a modified Supra Turbo! When I moved back to the states, MONTANA had NO SPEED LIMIT! Needless to say..SUPRA TURBO..√ , FRESH TIRES..√, RACING GAS..√, LEAD FOOT..√¡! = My version of an EPIC DRIVE!
That is the prettiest damn shifter that I have ever seen. Always hated the teat tray wings though. Beaut!
Gas'n'Oil For real! It looks so damn solid.
Gas'n'Oil If you want to see more about it, it's called a "Wevo" shifter.
It's a wevo shifter, if you want it even more beautiful look at their lightweight drilled out knob. It's a work of art. I had one on my 87' and it was perfect.
That isn't a tea tray though, it doesn't have the side walls, it is a whale tail. The later G-series Turbos had the tea tray.
3.2 is the engine to have for sure …..well done ! I have an 89 with 176,000 miles on it …….love it …..good video
Shawn Wang, very nice footage. I have a 3.2 myself and I approve your message ;) Keep up the good work and keep on driving!
just beautiful, utter joy, just "wow", this forms, this colour, this sobriety, thank you for this so nice, non-hysteric vid, thank you for your passion an sharing this, Shawn and SE
That stance. Perfection.

i would take this car over my 991 turbo s, love it !
Not sure how I have not seen this video over the past 2 years. Great work, great car, subscribing.
DAMN. that is a gorgeous build.
What a great little video. Amazingly tasteful car, just wow. The owner really shows his passion here. Nice job Shawn.

Awesome video and amazing car!
Amazing job on the inside
I stumbled on your video a few years back and always wanted to watch it again..love your car...see you are from the west coast...will honk at you next time I see you
Such a beautiful car
Perfection. These old Porsches are classics.
I'd rather have this than a new one any day, just for the
fact that it doesn't have 28 airbags.
One of the cleanest builds I have ever seen. Of any car.
should you ever have the opportunity to drive a Porsche 911 with a powerful engine, you will understand that this car is the perfection. better is not possible.
I say that as an Italian
Life goals. That car is gorgeous
Great video. Forget the haters. Thank you.
Great video! Super impressed by the quality of it. Love the car
great video...subscribed!! hope you guys keep these vids coming!
It's a beautiful car. Worth the time you took to show us how much you love it.
Thank you for this Video!
Very cool car. Really like the petrolhead owner too.
Lovely cinematography and production values. Like the film noire-ish mood and owner talk in the dark garage. And the flashlight revealing the car.
Petrolicious recently had a 911T video called “Minimalist” that has a really lovely aesthetic too - but I liked your treatment that suited this car.
As for the comments on the guy’s accent, well for me it enriched the story to meet the owner and hear him tell his story. Good for you that you didn’t take away from that.
that shot with the Porsche coming around the corner before the title. I must have re watched it a million times
when's the next video coming out? I know quality over quantity but your videos are well edited and interesting to watch

+SimplyCRehZ Next video is out!
This video is what solidified my goal of getting a G body 911. Lucky enough to say I bought one from a really cool guy in Ohio on 9/11.
god aircool sounds so good, i will build one one day.
Loved the video, the car’s, his passion for the car and the super tasteful mods are 🔥
Very tastefully done. Thanks for sharing your passion.
Dope vid!
Good looking car. Im inspired.

Wife came home, smelled paint and left.... *laughs
Now that's a man's man!👍🏾
Nice car Shawn! I just noticed that's the Ridge Motorsport track in Shelton, Washington. Maybe I'll see you out there June 20th.
Great car perfection. Thumbs up.
nice video, great work!
This 3.2L Carrera is sweet enough to give me a toothache! Awesome ride!
Awesome car! Very tasteful, inside and out!
Absolutely stunning 911. Well done 👍
Love the videos, keep up the good work. You provided a really good template for other automotive video creators. A good balance between interview, music, and most importantly the raw sound from the vehicle.
As a fellow 3.2 Carrera owner who wants to modify but retain the stock OEM look I would be really interested in a mod list if possible. I'm interested in those wheels since they actually look to be 17s instead of the stock 16s.
To me, it looks like 17" on the rear and 16" on the front.
This car is absolutely beautiful ❤️
clean ride, thanks share
gorgeous car!
For everyone that is asking for subtitles... Hit the button next to the settings gear that says cc it means closed captions
Excellent passion.
Been there!
Beautiful car. Well done. Enjoy.
5:54 "my dad told me it's a tractor" funny how Porsche actually made tractors back them
Well done, sir
Great video and really nice build shawn, your attention to detail really comes through the car looks brand new. I would love to know the specs of the motor like what kind of ITBs? was it rebuilt. Sounds mean.
Beautiful video bro, beautiful car too
Fantastic video and severely underrated channel. Well done
Great car, great owner!
What a guy hahaha so awesome
Beautilful car !! Good taste !
so clean
Beautiful car! Very well done. You're making me wish I bought an air-cooled instead of a 997 ;)
His Porsche looks brand new, great job.
A truly beautiful car.
Damn. So sweet ... Car of all cars
Fantastic looking car

Great car. Good dude.
Nice job
Bravo.
Car looks like it just came out of the dealer. Great job!!
Great Work Man. U Got the best Baby!
great video, great car lol
Fabulous
I kept my '81 SC totally stock (along with factory suspension ride-height) and I've had that car at maximum velocity numerous times (from the Copper Mtn. exit on I-70 to the mid-Vail exit in 12 minutes, no braking involved). As long as you know how to throttle-steer the SC you don't need all those 'bells & whistles': lowered suspension, 930 brakes, 8' rear Fuchs rims, front and rear spoilers ( 'whale tail'), etc.. Of course, if expense was no limitation...
I hope I can get to enjoy my sc as much as you are enjoying yours. It is also bone stock. Wish I had bought it when I was 20 yrs younger.
Thanks for sharing
Cool Guy,Great 911
