Absolutely the best series of videos I have watched on RUclips. Crystal clear instructions which I followed to remove the carburetor from my Honda EX650, clean it and put it back on. After three pulls the generator fired up and has never run so well. Thank you very, very much. Cheers, Jay USA
Although I couldn't understand a word you said, you showed me just what I needed to know. You are fast and so is your mini driver:-) Thank You for a Great tutorial!
Great video! I put it all together but it is running better on choke than run. It seems to be really revving up I am not sure what I messed up. Any ideas?
you are referring to the throttle stop screw on the top of the carb with a spring loaded rounded cross head screw. The position is unimportant as long as it does not protrude far enough to touch the throttle lever when the machine is operating at idle. It can be used to stabilise a worn and floaty carb at idle but equally you could take it out and throw it away.
What about that carb needle where you wanted it to go in and protrude just a bit, but not too far? I suppose the end just needs to visibly show and not need any further adjustment, even tho its spring loaded? Also, not everyone has a load meter in their garage.
Hi! Can you advise me? Today I assembled the Honda EX 650 generator after cleaning. It didn't work for many years because they poured gasoline and oil into it. It's actually new. Now it starts for the first time, but after I pull down the choke, the engine doesn't keep idling, but it still adds and subtracts. Under the string, the running is smooth. Don't know what it could be? well thank you
Sounds like partially blocked main jet but sticking piston ring could do the same. If the jet is clear try removing the spark plug get the pist near the bottom of its stroke and pour a few cc of brake fluid into the bore. Then leave it for a couple of days
@@petepowergenerators Not. The engine starts. Then, when it has idle without an electrical load, the carburetor still draws and adds throttle. When I connect the drill, the motor runs at the same speed without any problems.
Hey there, great series but I done all this with my eu2000i model, plus I even brought a ultra sonic cleaner especially for it but its still surging with or without a load, any ideas what it could be please
Several possibilties. 1) could your fuel be old? 2) are you certain that the main jet is clear 3) there is a pathway from the idle jet down into the floatbowl. Try squirting carb cleaner into hole at the bottom of the idle jet housing and see if it makes it through the float bowl. 4)Check the o ring on the plastic idle jet. 5) could be caused by low compression resulting from gummed piston rings. Remove spark plug, move piston to bottom of stroke. Squirt about half an eggcup of brake fluid into spark plug hole and leave soak for 24hrs. Pull engine over to eject brake fluid. Refit spark plug. 6) check fuel filter located in outflow fuel tank
@@petepowergenerators Thanks mate, the fuel was brand new, although it did have old fuel in there to begin with, plus I cleaned the little filter in the tank out aswell but I'll try the brake fluid in the cylinder trick and check the pilot jet hole again and hopefully that'll do it Many thanks and all the best 👍
Hi i have a honda EX1000 geneartor and it wont start unless I spray easy start or pour petrol into the choke thing on the carburator then when I close it and try and start it the genrator starts and runs only till the easy start or petrol is used up what could be wrong
hola tengo un EX-650 que se pasa de su tencion de salida en vez de 220 v. sale 270v. quemando casi todo lo que se le coloque a la salida puede estar fallando el regulador o avr gracias.
Disconnect the top one of the two white electrical plugs on the back. If the lumpy running stops with the connector unplugged then it sounds like a short in the winding but to be 100% sure send a couple of pics of the machine including the front panel and the rear with the plastic case removed to pete@petepower.co.uk

Nice set of videos for sorting out the carb. Many thanks.
Thanks excellent videos. My Generator is running great now.
Absolutely brilliant, thank you so much for these!

I see what you mean about running smooth under the string. Low compression sticking piston rings.

Any chance of putting subtitles up, because your accent is a little bit hard to follow? Are you from Newcastle?
