I did some checking on this for you. According to the Desert Sun published September 2020, they found Clifford's remains in a mountain community 150 miles away. Also from the Desert Sun, Daniel Garcia 40 and kaushal Niroula 41, were ex lovers. And went after each other in court to save each of their butts. I can't find definitive information if the others were also gay. Clifford's ex partner was 34 and passed away in a drowning accident shortly after they split up. Which left Clifford very upset and most likely vulnerable. Clifford's neighbors had called police on several occasions because of the fighting between the two. Apparently their relationship was volatile at times. Miguel Bustamante was retried and again found guilty on 6-14-23. Hope that helps! And Merry Christmas to you and Jim! Peace...
Omg Stacy, you are awesome and such a good investigator. I really appreciate the update. I will probably share this in the Community page of this RUclips channel. I stopped clicking on the Desert Sun articles because they always wanted to charge me and I can’t afford to pay for all the different newspaper articles that have information about these stories. So I only go to the free newspaper sites where they make their money from advertising and don’t charge people to view and read. Thanks again for doing this and merry Christmas to you too! 😄🎄🧑🎄👍
That was Clifford’s vulnerability then: liking and trusting much younger men. If he had been more realistic, he would know they were in it to take advantage of him.
@@Cherrysmith2809 Yes this is very sad for men in his position and time of life. Loneliness makes many of these men grab at the FIRST fresh flower that comes along without thinking consequentially. Beautiful roses have thorns. Have seen it time and again with older gay men. Getting older and being alone is very tough but being alone and at peace is,far better than getting robbed and killed and literally left by the side of the road. Sadly so many people are looking and hunting for money and don't care who gets hurt in the process. Most though are completely inept and don't know how to pull off such a,crime and certainly don't know what to do with money when and if they get it. I stay away from my relatives because they are exactly like this. If you gave them 10 grand, they'd blow through it in a week on bull💩 and be back to square one. Dumber and more broke than before.
Very sad the way they did this man. Very heartbreaking that they buried him somewhere and 'supposedly' can't remember where. Kudos to the agent who got very suspicious and called the police. Also kudos to the neighbor for calling the police when this man's house was being emptied. Karma catches up to those who do bad things like this. Thanks for sharing this, Steve.
You're welcome for the information Steve. I enjoy detective work. Instead of replying to your comment, I did a new one so you didn't miss it. As it was a lot of work to paste or rewrite due to some sentences being links. This is from the September 2020 Desert Sun. Without the timeline of events, it won't let me send this with them and way too much to retype. :( I also condensed it without the paragraphs or the headline. Twelve years after a Palm Springs socialite was seduced, robbed and killed by a group of con men, authorities have finally identified his remains after finding them in a mountain community about 150 miles away. A skull and jawbone found near the city of Castaic are from the body of Clifford Lambert, 74, who vanished in 2008, Deputy District Attorney Robert Hightower said during a court hearing in Indio on Wednesday. The bones were found in 2016 and 2017 but a DNA match was not confirmed until Tuesday, he said. Six defendants were convicted in 2012 for some role in Lambert's death: Four were convicted of murder, one pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter, and one was convicted of fraud. The four defendants convicted of murder have successfully appealed for new trials because of h-phobic statements made by the trial judge, but those retrials have yet to occur. Hightower told Judge Anthony Villalobos during a procedural hearing in the retrial for four of the defendants at the Larson Justice Center in Indio that the two human remains were obtained by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner in separate locations near the town situated along Interstate 5's winding ascent through the Grapevine, a mountain pass straddling Los Angeles and Kern counties. "Both have been positively identified as Mr. Lambert," Hightower said. No further details have been revealed about how or where the remains were discovered, only that the Los Angeles County coroner handed them over to the Kern County Medical Examiner & Coroner at the time and the DNA results were received recently. Lt. William Hutchinson, spokesperson for the Palm Springs Police Department, said the department could not talk about the new evidence because Villalobos had issued a media gag order related to the case in August. Lambert went missing in 2008. He had been presumed dead since 2009 when Kaushal Niroula, Daniel Garcia, David Replogle, Craig McCarthy and Miguel Bustamante were charged with murder and a scheme to steal his money and possessions. Russell Manning was charged with fraud related to the scheme. During the trial, prosecutors said Lambert was preyed upon by a group of Bay Area con men who tricked him with the promise of romance and money, then stabbed him to death in his kitchen. They subsequently stole his identity, emptied his bank accounts and even tried to sell his house, The Desert Sun reported. Niroula, Garcia, Replogle and Bustamante were convicted of Lambert's murder. One of the defendants, McCarthy, confessed to his part in the killing and was convicted of manslaughter. McCarthy re-enacted the murder for law enforcement, which was captured on video. The prosecutions case fell apart in 2017 after the appeals court ruled the judge presiding over the case was biased. Riverside County Superior Court Judge David B. Downing was captured on a recording during the 2012 hearing saying he didn't read motions from Niroula, who was defending himself, specifically because Niroula has hiv and his documents came in envelopes he licked closed. "Oh gross, and he is hiv positive. God knows where his tongue has been," Downing said, according to the recording obtained by The Desert Sun. "Never mind. Sorry, it's a cruel world folks." Downing was recorded calling the defendants "assholes" and "clowns." During one of the recorded exchanges, Downing said he would deny a motion to sever the case into separate trials for each defendant, even though he knew this was "improper," because a single trial would allow prosecutors to turn the suspects against each other. Niroula filed the motion to sever the trial after it was discovered that the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department had eavesdropped on confidential phone calls he made from jail to his lawyer shortly after his arrest, then turned recordings of those calls over to prosecutors. The prosecutors claimed Niroula was wiretapped by mistake, then they released the recordings to the defendants. When asked about the allegations by The Desert Sun in 2017, Downing said he couldn't remember if he made the statements or not. "Who knows? I don’t know what was said five years ago," Downing said. "Off the top of my head, I didn’t say that stuff." Downing, who retired before his homophobic comments were revealed, has not been publicly disciplined by the California Commission on Judicial Performance. The defendants have been returning to court since June for hearings preceding their retrial after the ongoing pandemic delayed the case through the spring. Thank you, so much, Stacy. I appreciate you sending this as a new comment. For some reason, I never see replies to replies with these comments. I will read this and share an update in the community section of this channel. This was so kind of you. You are the best!! :-)
So very sad. I bought the book for my Kindle. I hate that there are so many that pray in older people. He was probably lonely. I hate to think how very scared he was. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and Jim!
Steve, I really enjoy watching your videos, especially when you discuss topics related to the LGBTQ community. The story you shared was incredibly tragic, and I wanted to learn more about it. As you mentioned, it seems like the incident was quickly forgotten by the public. Personally, as a member of the LGBTQ community, this angers me a lot. It's disheartening to see that gay kids are unable to come out to their parents and face similar struggles. It hurts to witness the ignorance of people who believe they gain something by harming those who are different. Unfortunately, this won't put an end to such individuals, and it makes the world seem like a terrible place. Steve, I hope you, Jim, and your family have a fantastic Christmas and a very happy New Year filled with love and positivity. Your videos inspire me to take action and make a difference.❤❤
I am so glad I found this story. I briefly met Cliff through mutual gay friends out in Palm Springs. We went to dinner, and I remember him discussing his business and some of his personal life. This was of course way before this all happened. He was nice enough. When I heard that he was murdered and ripped off I was shocked. It's sad that when anyone looking for Mr. Right or Mr. Right now, gets taken in by con men. I don't do the hookup apps like Grindr and Scruff anymore because of bad experiences. It's like Russian Roulette bringing a strange person into your life or even into your bedroom or theirs for the night. You got to be careful everywhere nowadays. Thanks for bringing the story to light. RIP Cliff.
Hi Steve, I didn't even hear about this brutal crime. Mr. Lambert didn't deserve this at all. Once his Boyfriend, Came back into his life, He shouldn't have never took him back. This is an very Interesting story. Nowadays you can't trust anyone. But for 1 Of those Men, That was involved, GOT KARMA, No better for him. All the rest going to get what's coming to them. Did Mr. Lambert have any family members at the time of his death. This is just so sad and Tragic. RIP 🙏❤️ Great Video, Happy New Year to you, Steve.
With all the new building and renovations, I can’t believe that no one found the body by now. Sad tragic story. Mysteries are my favorite thing. I will look this up.
Steve what a fascinating story that you shared with us, it is also sad that they catfish him and know no one knows were he is buried, such said ending.
Sad story. I hope Clifford rests in peace. Glad those involved in this are in prison. Thank you for telling Clifford's story. I hope his body is round and he can be laid to rest. You and Jim take care.
I have good news Maria. Someone left a comment earlier saying that his remains were eventually found. 👍 still no public gravesite that I can find, but I’m glad his family was able to get some closure by finding his body!
@@steveinpalmspringsca it looks like from Stacy story above, only skull and a jawbone were discovered scatterred separately. This sounds like animal activity and likely not much else may be found.
Hi Steve this is such a sad story. When I think about all the evil people in this world it scares me so much. I hope you and Jim have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! I love your videos no matter the content!
Thank you for posting this. We need to remember those that have been victims of these hate crimes whether their remains are found or not. The point is, IMHO, people are killed every day in this country just for being. For being black, for being gay, for being women, for being young, for being old, for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Just for being.
Thanks for the story, 2 years ago when visiting PS, I drove past the 'Murder house' several times unaware of what took place there in search of Liberace's house ( and a few other celebs ) Lee lived in that corner house in the 1960s and while his other larger PS home 'The Cloisters' was being remodeled 69-71' And down the street, I see now there's a screen placed on the chain link fence of Dean Martins Ranch house, sad the home is sitting in disrepair for so long, I think Dean only lived in it during the late 60's a few years then gave it to his former wife. The land is worth a fortune if the house can't be saved. The neighbors must have complained to the owner for an eyesore, so attempting to block a little of it for now. As far as Clifford's body in a Desert shallow grave 15 years ago, I doubt anything left, maybe a scattered bone if lucky, the Coyotes and other critters got to it long ago as it was most likely dug up by them. But it only takes one Human bone to find and be reported (DNA)
Hi Parker, i’m like you, I’ve walked and driven by that house hundreds of times and never knew the history until now. Fortunately a few people have left comments letting me know that his body was eventually found or at least some of his bones and they were identified using DNA. So at least now his family can have some closure. As for Dean Martin’s former Palm Springs home, I walked by about six months ago and there was a construction fence around the entire house. I think they are finally renovating it. Thanks for the reminder, I will have to drive by again and see if it’s been completed yet. Thanks for the comment. 👍
First of all. I do not buy the fact that these bastards don't remember where this guy is buried. Second, Steve my friend you don't know how lucky you are. You met Jim years ago and you all have created a life together. Loneliness is a ugly and terrible thing. This poor guy lost his life because he was lonely and alone. It's a awful thing to go through. This guy did not deserve to die just because he was lonely and alone.
Hi James, I was thinking the same thing about him being lonely. That may have been why he ignored so many red flags. Very sad. As for his body, someone left a comment letting me know that his body was eventually found. I will share an update on my RUclips community page later today. Thanks as always for sharing with us! 👍
What an amazing story 😮 I’m Australian and of course we have murders and scams, but you guys in America seem to take the cake on these kind of things 😮
Hi John, it’s true but I just watched a very heartbreaking series about an American who was murdered in Australia decades ago by being pushed off a cliff there. I can’t remember the name of the documentary right now but it was very heartbreaking. They did finally catch the homophobic killer. Sadly, because of religion and politicians spreading hate, it happens everywhere. 🥲
@@steveinpalmspringsca yes Steve, he was unfortunately a victim of a group of blokes who apparently had fun assaulting gay men back in the late 70s and early 80s, the authorities only recently got the killer. And wishing you and the old boy a great Christmas and a wonderful new year 🙂
This story is absolutely heartbreaking! When I hear stories of "murder" (which is FAR too often) I just cant grasp how someone could take a life in this way!!!! They should never, ever get out of prison!! Poor man. And his poor family!!
What a tragic story, there are some horrible people who take advantage of older people, poor Cliff he must have been very frightened. Take care Steve and Jim.
Steve, thank you for the story. I have been in the hospital all week and just to this video. It's heart sadness for the very good man who died. I will pray for his body to be found. We both are lucky to have someone who loves us. Merry Christmas to you and jim.
Thank you Steve, these LGBTQ fatal stories are sad 😢 and very real. How many times we see an old gay guy getting abused by young companions. We need to understand that realistically many of them are only looking for money. That happened to Ramon Novaro (silent screen gay actor) and got horribly killed by two companions in 1969. Money can be dangerous if you are a mature gay man looking for companionship with very young guys. Again Steve, your stories are very valuable, I appreciate greatly your effort to put them in you tube. Merry Christmas.
Thank you Jaime, yes this is way too common! 🙁 Thanks for mentioning Ramon Navarro. I visited his gravesite a few years ago and shared it on my other RUclips channel. I plan to visit again in the next few months and share it on this channel too. Merry Christmas 🧑🎄🎄👍
Ramon's house was and is beautiful. Diane Keaton, Christina Ricci and Jake Shears from Scissor Sisters are just three celebrities who have owned Ramon's house since his death .
Hi Steve. Your friend Gary from Rochester, New York here. I'd like to wish you and Jim a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Love watching all your videos; keep up the great work. Don't pay any attention to those naysayers; some people just live to complain. You and Jim stay safe and healthy !
Hi Steve 👋🏼 Thank you for bringing light to this tragic story. I’m completely untech savvy, that said, if there is a way we could direct/private message I have some information to share.
😢 Wow! What a scary and sad story thank you for sharing this story and video and remembering this man prayers for family and friends and all who are left to grieve this great loss!
Hi Steve. I wanted to wish you and Jim a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I love watching all your videos and wish we knew each other personally. You both take care and stay safe & healthy. Sincerely, Gary in New York
What a sad story. Thank goodness one got prison justice. I hope the weird juries in CA with uphold the original verdict. Mr. Lambert sounds like someone who was well off but not fabulously so and didn't have any family or close friends that he was in close contact with. The story is really touching, and very very sad.
I saw a Lifetime movie a few yrs ago about this same incident but for the life of me I cannot remember the name of the movie. So thankful he received justice for this horrible crime. RIP Clifford
Hi Khris, you are the first one to mention a movie about this. I just looked it up and it’s called a stranger in my home. Thanks for letting us know about it. 👍
I am sure that Clifford is on the other side ,making progress on his soul journey. What those men did to him isn't a burden on his soul but to their souls. I hope that his burial place will be discovered one day and that he gets a proper grave and marker. I had never heard about this ,Steve. Thank you for telling us. Peace and Love my friend ❤️ You and Jim enjoy your Christmas 🎄 😊
Thank you Linda, I’m happy to say that if you viewers have informed me that his body was eventually found. He still doesn’t have a public graveside, but hopefully that will change in the future too. Merry Christmas to you too! 🎄🧑🎄
Safety tip: When you're an old gay man, always be extremely suspicious of handsome young men who appear to show interest. Don't fool yourself into thinking that you're still young and attractive to young people. You're not. They want something else.
@@steveinpalmspringsca So true, Steve. That advice really goes for everyone. I'm an old gay guy, myself (not as old as the victim in the story), but I'm always suspicious when I'm at the bar and some young attractive guy seems interested (I don't do social media). We just can't afford to take chances. I just discovered your channel and will subscribe. Have you ever covered the sad murder of the gay movie start, Ramon Navarro? He was killed around 50 years ago (I think) by some young men whom he invited to his large home. Very sad. If you've never heard of Ramon Navarro, you can find plenty about him on RUclips.
Wow what a horrible hanus plotted pre- meditated crime. 😢 Definitely a horrific crime. You are indeed very kind to to make an awareness to these situations horrible as they are. So God bless you for taking the time to do that.
Sadly whether gay or straight, it’s not usually a good outcome when a much older person seeks the “company” of a far younger person! That poor man suffered because of it….. people can be so evil just for money!! I am glad to hear they did find his body in 2020… at least he’s not buried in an unmarked shallow grave anymore 😢
I agree Kathy, the unmarked grave was the final indignity. I’m glad that his family has some closure now. I just hope they will give his remains at a public and proper burial where people can visit and remember him. 💙
I Don’t watch TV either. the commercial’s drive me crazy. Like 👍 your channel. I don’t believe they forgot where cliff is buried. They know exactly where he is. RIP cliff.
unfortunately an all too common situation of Elderly men and women, straight and gay, who because of Loneliness are grifted by Young Sociopaths into believing that they are Loved for Themselves and not their Money and Possessions. I have an acquaintance that all too often gets convinced by Young Hustlers that they Desire/Love him for Himself and not the 1000$$$ of dollars he showers them with in forms of Gifts. A mutually satisfying Quid Pro Quo "arrangement" between 2 Consenting Adults I have no issue with, to be clear.
Steve, thanks for another interesting video. This sounds like movie material, but it would need a screenplay not from the book, since the reviews are not so great (reading Amazon reviews). I may get it anyway since my interest and curiosity are peaked.
I agree with you....this case would be an interesting movie... a bit gruesome, (not unusual now-a-day) but definitely a cautionary tale for anyone with assets, but older, without a partner, and lonely.
Yes, sad but true Mari. 🥲 I visited Navarro‘s grave a few years ago on my other channel the graveyard channel. I plan to revisit his grade for this channel. Hopefully in the coming year. Thanks for mentioning him.
I think anyone could’ve done this, but you’re probably right in that most killers tend to be younger rather than older I think. Even so he didn’t deserve this just because he preferred to date younger adults.
I know, I can’t believe it either. Better late than never though! And from reading all the comments I guess I’m not there only one who missed this story.
I knew Cliff Lambert, and yes, I even slept with him once back in the 1977. Cliff was a handsome, distinguished looking Gentleman, with a very gentle way about him. He was a very kind, and elegant man. He gave me my first job in his Mail order Art Studio located on La Cienega Blvd, in West Hollywood. At that time he had a lovely Beverly Hills estate, and a young latin lover named George. His house was stuffed full of beautiful furnishing, and amazing rare treasures. He told me that although he was born and raised in the mid-west, that his family was from a line of Russian princes, and that really made sense, just from his approach to the world. The last time I saw him was at a wealthy (but vaguely shady) Dutch friends home up in Nichols Canyon in 1979. I remember that when we first met, he had a 4th of July BBQ at his Bev. Hills home that Zsa Zsa Gabor came to ( she was a awful person). He knew a lot of very wealthy powerful people socially, and they seemed to count him as a trusted friend. One quirky thing I'd never forget, was that in his kitchen, the walls were covered in that green vinyl Louis Vuitton fabric, with one change, the initials on it had been changed from "L V", to "C L"! There are a hundred little details I recall about his home, and him. Cliff was just a very dignified and nice man, never aggressive, or with a mean bone in his body. I can understand that he must have felt lonely as he aged, and was far too trusting, which must have been compounded when he moved out to Palm Springs. I just heard of his murder last year, and it horrifies me; that such a cultured, gentle person would come to such a ghastly murder, at the hands of such low-lifes, beggers belief.
Hi Booka, thank you so much for sharing these personal memories with us about Cliff. It’s nice to get to know a little bit more about him. I was living in West Hollywood in 1977. I didn’t know that he had a gallery right there on La Cienega just a block from where I lived.
@@steveinpalmspringsca Just a little anecdote: As part of the prep for that 4th of July BBQ when I first met Cliff, he was fascinated over the idea of "Plugging" a watermelon. That is where you cut a hole in the melon, and stick a bottle of booze in it, so that it drains into the watermelon. I had never heard of it before, nor had he, but he was bound and determined to give it a try. He was so excited by this experiment, with maids running in and out of the kitchen prepping the feast, he carefully monitored the bottle for a day as it slowly drained. The result was actually really good, but decidedly lethal, I didn't dare eat more than a small slice. Just sharing a little moment to humanize him, and show what a fun guy he was.
Have you heard of dr Devon Hoover in Detroit. He was a beloved neurosurgeon who was murdered in his home. The police department keeps promising to be close to solving the case. Yet nothing happens;
Thank you for telling me about him Maurice. I had not heard about his murder. I just checked online and I can’t find a find a grave page for him. If you happen to know where he is. Please leave me a NEW comment. For some reason I don’t see replies to replies in the comments section. Thanks again for letting us know about him and sharing his memory here. 👍
That was just bizarre. A vast wealthy home with no cameras, no surveillance and no one knows what happened when he was also brutally murdered. No one saw no one going in or out. It was on ytube all over, but very quiet now. I almost forgot about it.
Agree. TEE VEE news locally is nothing but the "police beat" and commercials. Cable is just as bad if not worse. Sadly, media consolidation did this and we pay the price. Have not watched OTA TEE VEE in years. Same with the radio. Who listens to that anymore?
Wow, that’s a tragic mystery & this is so interesting to know more about Palm Springs. Sounds awful & I bet the killers were not gay. I’m bothered that it was able to sell without a will or bank officials reporting it🤔🤔. I want to read that that book now.
Unfortunately there are some unscrupulous lawyers who are willing to forge the documents and steal peoples money like this. Luckily the real estate agent was suspicious and didn’t allow the house to be sold!
The murderer and at least one accomplice lived here in San Francisco....if my memory is correct.......my initial comment was early on...so you mention that. The culprits were essentially hustlers....maybe Gay for pay.....one's sexuality is more often or not a "gray" area... people use sex for all kinds of reasons.....and as I listen....your assessment Steve, is, as usual, VERY thorough. Steve....if you had a career in higher education.....you could teach a meaningful class on human behavior. Your own attitude is the best example of that.
That’s a very good point Don. And thank you, that’s very nice of you to say. My first major in college was journalism with a minor in psychology. I also thought seriously about becoming a teacher. It’s funny how our personalities form at a very young age and usually don’t change much throughout our lives.
What a tragedy, This is so very Sad. Mr. Clifford didn't deserve this brutal crime against him. Well at least 5 of these Murderers are in Prison, And one of then got Karma, No better for him. The boyfriend was plotting his Death for r the Money. Then try to sell the home, A very interesting story Rip Mr. Clifford, Steve, Have a wonderful Happy New Year.
Hi C, yes, I did this his gravesite a few years ago and shared it on my other channel the graveyard channel. I do want to revisit his grave in this coming year and I will do another video for this channel. Thanks for the reminder. 👍
Its so sad what people do for greed. Can you do a story about Zsa Zsa Gabor? I heard she was taken advantage of by a man too. You're such a good storyteller😊
I think zsa zsa was the one taking advantage . Never a truer word than spoken in jest as they say , she was famous for quipping : I’m a great housekeeper … Everytime I get a divorce I get to keep the house 😝
I lived on junipero by toucan's and it's crazy how there's these million-dollar estates you're showing and then there's also apartment complexes that have all the windows broken out and there's no washing machine cuz people have stole them and I passed by both on my way to school when I went to Palm springs the dynamic is crazy with the extremely poor and the extremely rich
Good friends of mine were good friends with Cliff. I met him a few times but honestly I kept a distance because he was affiliated with individuals that dealt in stolen art, stolen property. I didn't want to be close to people like that for obvious reasons. He seemed friendly though and was very well liked. He was a regular at Wang's on Indian Canyon Drive. He even made a donation to a charity event I was involved in. Sadly by now in nearly 2025 most everyone that he was close to have by now all died. The thing to take away from this tragedy is the fact that this happens nearly every single year here in Palm Springs. It happened a month or two ago in fact! A scenario whereupon an older gay man befriends a much younger hustler, takes him in his home and ends up murdered. This fall a 60-something gay man in South Palm Springs was stabbed to death by the 20-something young guy that was living with him. That young guy was arrested of course. He stated that the older gentleman had grown bored with him and broke up with him, leaving him with no where to live. The kid got mad, panicked and lashed out at the older man, stabbing him to death. That's just this fall!!! I have seen this happen regularly Steve. This is not a new story. Happens nearly every year. Happened to two friends of mine too. One friend Steve Machupa who was barely 21 years old was murdered by his new boyfriend when he (Steve) wanted to break up with him and date other people. The murderer stole Steve's bank account monies, sold Steve's vehicle and then stole an old truck and carried Steve's body out to the bed of the stolen truck and drove it over to Tramview Road (the only road that leads you to the Ariel Tramway), parked the truck out to the side of the road out in the sand, where it remained for months. It was eventually towed for being an abandoned vehicle and the tow truck driver discovered my friend Steve's dead body in the bed of the truck and called police. These crimes and murders against other gays happen often out here and they always have. Some are just in the news longer than others.
Hi Steve, what a small world! I had no idea this was so common. Not long ago, Eduardo Xol was stabbed to death by a younger man here in PS and I assumed it was probably one of these situations. If you are interested, when we get together, I think this would be a very interesting video to do too. I would love to hear more about your friend's death, if you feel comfortable sharing it on camera. Is he buried here in PS? Thanks for sharing this and see you tomorrow!
That is one very sad story, for many reasons but particularly, the fact that his body has never been found. I think, gullible too of course, that the idea of an inheritance would have been a very exciting prospect for him. Funnily enough, I've justvreached thr point in your story where you agree.
Hey, I found a clipping on the computer that said Clifford's remains were found in the hills about 150 miles away from his home. I just wanted to let you know!
Hi Sally, someone left a comment earlier saying his body was eventually found. His find a grave memorial page still says it was never found, so his family must have buried or cremated him. So I was happy to hear that. 👍
Poor Cliff. RIP. Hard to believe his house was bought twice after Cliff was killed in it. I guess you could bring in spiritual people to bless and cleanse it.
Thank you @RockinStacy for the update.
@@wdh47211 You're welcome. Happy New Year!
Thanks for watching Virginia!

Such an incredibly sad story. God bless this poor man. He just may have been lonely. Prayers for his recovery. Thank you for sharing Steve
Yes, unfortunately loneliness can result in you letting your guard down and you might do things you wouldn’t otherwise do. 🙁
Steve you really shine bringing these sad and tragic stories to us - each deserves to be heard and no one does it better !
Thank you so much RB!
So very sad. I bought the book for my Kindle. I hate that there are so many that pray in older people. He was probably lonely. I hate to think how very scared he was.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and Jim!
I agree Debbie, loneliness probably played a big part in him ignoring the red flags. Thanks for sharing and merry Christmas to you too! 🧑🎄🎄
Hi Ms. H, that was very nicely said. Thank you for sharing with us. And merry Christmas and happy new year to you and your family too! ❤️🎄🧑🎄👍
@rememberingwithsteve Thanks, Steve
RIP Cliff.
Thanks for sharing this with us wdh. It really is a small world. And yes, sadly these apps really are like playing Russian roulette. Very scary. 🥲
What a story Steve nobody does it better than you ❤
Thank you Alex. That’s nice of you to say. 👍
Steve you have the right voice and you don't miss anything. You never hesitate, it just flows. I just subscribed.
Thank you Sheila, I appreciate that. 😊👍
With all the new building and renovations, I can’t believe that no one found the body by now. Sad tragic story. Mysteries are my favorite thing. I will look this up.
Steve what a fascinating story that you shared with us, it is also sad that they catfish him and know no one knows were he is buried, such said ending.
What a sad story. An innocent man killed by awful people. God rest his soul.✨
being gay doesn't make you innocent!

@@bunnysb2587 Thank you very much!!
So sad but true. Thanks R 💙
How sad. Greed does strange things. I can’t remember ever seeing this story in the news if it was nationally broadcast.
I had a feeling that lots of other people probably missed this story too, like me. That’s why I wanted to share it.
I watch the local, national and world news on several channels every day and never heard this story. Thanks for putting it on your channel.
I was afraid it might be old news. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who hadn’t heard about it. 👍
Hi Steve what a very sad story thank you for all the great videos Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year to you and Jim take care
Thank you Lana, and the same to you! 🧑🎄🎄👍🎉
Another very interesting story. You are so good at true crime.❤
Thanks Diane. I appreciate you saying that.
I agree Vicki! 🥲
What a tragic story, there are some horrible people who take advantage of older people, poor Cliff he must have been very frightened. Take care Steve and Jim.
I agree Angela. It’s hard to even imagine. 😲
Steve, thank you for the story. I have been in the hospital all week and just to this video. It's heart sadness for the very good man who died. I will pray for his body to be found. We both are lucky to have someone who loves us. Merry Christmas to you and jim.
Sorry to hear that you’ve been in the hospital Alich. I hope you are OK now. Merry Christmas 🧑🎄🎄👍
Just saw this Steve! What a sad story, you tell it well. Unreal these people in this world! 😔
Thanks Linda!
It's just so sad when these things happen.😢
It sure is Lisa!
Great job! As always

People playing on a man's loneliness, how despicable...

Safety tip: When you're an old gay man, always be extremely suspicious of handsome young men who appear to show interest. Don't fool yourself into thinking that you're still young and attractive to young people. You're not. They want something else.
Good advice Tim. It’s easy for so many to forget that. Gay or straight! 👍

Yes, it’s scary how many of them are out there! 😲

@@steveinpalmspringsca that’s great news Steve. I’ll look forward to the update. Merry Christmas. To you and your family.
unfortunately an all too common situation of Elderly men and women, straight and gay, who because of Loneliness are grifted by Young Sociopaths into believing that they are Loved for Themselves and not their Money and Possessions.
Hi Tim, yes I also read that the book was very difficult to follow. Maybe not surprising though since there were so many people involved.
I agree with you....this case would be an interesting movie... a bit gruesome, (not unusual now-a-day) but definitely a cautionary tale for anyone with assets, but older, without a partner, and lonely.
OMG, this video just came on my feed and as you’re driving by, I could see my house and my car parked on the street……🤦♂️
Well, what a small world!
Reminds me of the Ramon Navarro story which happened many decades ago so I guess some things don't change
Yes, sad but true Mari. 🥲 I visited Navarro‘s grave a few years ago on my other channel the graveyard channel. I plan to revisit his grade for this channel. Hopefully in the coming year. Thanks for mentioning him.
His lust for younger men got him killed.
I think anyone could’ve done this, but you’re probably right in that most killers tend to be younger rather than older I think. Even so he didn’t deserve this just because he preferred to date younger adults.
We're his family and sisters and brothers or a member family Know one knows God bless him what a sad story 😢
Such a sad story.

Thanks, I have always wanted to visit Palm Springs, looks like a nice place.😢😢😢Sad case.
Have you heard of dr Devon Hoover in Detroit. He was a beloved neurosurgeon who was murdered in his home. The police department keeps promising to be close to solving the case. Yet nothing happens;
I gave up commercial TV and radio in 1999. Best decision I’ve ever made.
That is so sad.
Very sad. Based on their last names alone, I wouldn't go near these men.
That's racist
What a tragedy, This is so very Sad. Mr. Clifford didn't deserve this brutal crime against him. Well at least 5 of these Murderers are in Prison, And one of then got Karma, No better for him. The boyfriend was plotting his Death for r the Money. Then try to sell the home, A very interesting story Rip Mr. Clifford, Steve, Have a wonderful Happy New Year.
Thank you Jill and happy new year to you too! 🥳
Hi Steve, can you do a story on actor Ramon Novarro. He was murdered by 2 brothers in 1968.
Hi C, yes, I did this his gravesite a few years ago and shared it on my other channel the graveyard channel. I do want to revisit his grave in this coming year and I will do another video for this channel. Thanks for the reminder. 👍
@@steveinpalmspringsca Thanks for the reply. I will go back to your other channel to find the video.
@surfrescue3232 I was talking about the last guy she was with. His name was Frederic von Anhalt.
Sad story but you made an exelent video Steve 😢🤗❤️
Thank you Runar 👍
So sad. RIP Clifford 🙏😢
Hi Mandie, I agree. That’s something I’ve always thought was so strange about Palm Springs neighborhoods! 😲
I have an issue with the multiple commercials on tv.
I turn the tv off.
That is one very sad story, for many reasons but particularly, the fact that his body has never been found. I think, gullible too of course, that the idea of an inheritance would have been a very exciting prospect for him.
Funnily enough, I've justvreached thr point in your story where you agree.
Hi Anne, i’m happy to say that his body was eventually found. So at least something good came out of this. A little closure for his family. 👍
Hey, I found a clipping on the computer that said Clifford's remains were found in the hills about 150 miles away from his home. I just wanted to let you know!
Thank you Donald. A couple other comments mentioned it too. I appreciate you letting me know. I’m glad that his family members got some closure. 😄👍
My God! Pure evil. 😲
Sorry but i never knew him. WHAT A SAD STORY. They don't know where he is buried? I don't believe them.
Hi Sally, someone left a comment earlier saying his body was eventually found. His find a grave memorial page still says it was never found, so his family must have buried or cremated him. So I was happy to hear that. 👍
Steve, Did you say that an attorney was in on this murder scheme also?
Yes, he was the one that forged all the paperwork so the criminals could get their hands on all of the money in the estate! 🙁
Poor Cliff. RIP. Hard to believe his house was bought twice after Cliff was killed in it. I guess you could bring in spiritual people to bless and cleanse it.
How tragic....😢😢
